Leo looked at the quest in front of him and gulped. He had a hunch that with the system would come the tasks… but he did not think that it would be this soon.
He was still not mentally ready to fight someone. For fuck's sake, he did not even know how to fight someone. This was not a game, and he had no controller to control his moves.
All his life for the past 3 years, he had been nothing but an Otaku, cooped up in his apartment, surviving on Ramen and junk. How can they just ask him to jump and become the hero?
If the quest was just too scout the area, observe the fighting or maybe loot the leftover, he might have agreed.
But defending the innocents, fighting the bandits, eliminating the threat? Please, count him out. He is not going to die the first day in this new world, trying to save someone else.
"Oye, Boiy!" The old man called to Leo when he saw him standing there stumped, not saying anything.
"Yeah," Leo called out instinctively.

"Huh???" Leo almost fell off the cart hearing the system in his head, 'Blown to smithereens?'
'Hey system! Why… I… I don't want this quest. I never accepted it. Cancel the request, do you understand?' Leo hurriedly asked the system.

"Boiy! What do you want to do?" Meanwhile the old man was getting restless. Slowly they were moving towards the clash.
"Shshhh! Not now old man," Leo tried to shush the old man.

"Ease up boiy… Don't be afraid. We will just hide it out here. Maybe we will get lucky and they will soon leave," The old man thought that Leo was too afraid to even move his body.
"Huh…" Leo wanted to cry in some corner.
He then turned towards Grendel and looked at the old man's face. How was he going to ask this old geezer with one leg in the grave to turn his precious Hilda towards the clash?
Well for a start, he can't look scared. And just like that the annoyed expression on his face turned into a smile, as if this was the lifelong opportunity he was waiting for.
He finally spoke to Grendel, his voice suddenly brimming with excitement, "We are not running away."
The old man looked at Leo as if he was looking at an idiot, "What? Didn't you just ask me to… Have you gone bonkers, boiy?"
"Sshhh!!!" Leo looked at the old man and stopped him from saying anything further, "Don't make excuses. This is time for you to be a man and not just an old perverted geezer."
"How can you even think about running away in the face of danger, leaving behind innocents to fend for themselves. Do you have no soul? No shame?"
Leo thumped his chest and commanded the old man, "Take me towards that sound. I am a man, and I am going to save those innocent individuals."
"Even if I have to put my life on the line, I won't hesitate one bit."
Grendel's brows shot up, "Boiy, have you gone crazy? That's where the Blackfang bastards are!"
"Are you so eager to get your balls chopped off and fed to the crows? I am not?"
Leo's eyes gleamed with justice, "Maybe. Maybe not. Only the God can decide that for me."
"But I am not letting some ugly, good for nothing clowns terrorize people while I sit on my ass."
Grendel felt like crying, hearing Leo. He tried to push some sense in his brain, "You said you were an adventurer, not a damned hero!"
"It's the same thing when it counts." Leo thumped his chest.
Grendel gave up as he looked ahead, down the road, "Even if I say no, you are just going to jump off and run in there like a fool, aren't you?"
Leo raised his chin high with righteousness, "Old Man, you have nothing to do with this. Drop me here, and you can run to safety."
"Thank God. Then you save those people, I will just…" The old man was more than relieved to hear Leo, but he was cut short midway.
"But I know you old man. You are the same brave, wise and righteous man you were 50 years back," Leo put his hand on the old man's shoulder and spoke with appreciation, "You are itching to kill a few Blackfang bastards."
"No… I am no…" Grendel felt like dying inside.
"And even your dear Hilda wants to kick a few balls. Aren't you Hilda?" Leo slapped Hilda's perfectly round rear, only to get "Neeeghhhh" in response.
The old man sighed like he aged ten more years, "Gods damn your generation," he muttered,
"Fine. But if I die, I am haunting your dreams. I will be the ghost that sleeps with your woman every night."
"Joke's on you, I barely have one," Leo laughed out loud.
Grendel flicked the reins, but the mule didn't want to move forward, "Come on, Hilda, you bad-tempered witch. If we die today, we are going to feed this bastard to wolves in the afterlife."
And then the cart changed its direction towards the source of the crash.
At that time, Leo had already drawn the short iron sword he got from the system halfway from its sheath.
[Quest Time Remaining: 00 : 22 : 53]
"System," Leo whispered to himself, "Let me know when we are 50 meters away from the bandits."
[Acknowledged]
"Leave me… Let me GO! HELP! Someone SAVE ME!" As they got closer and closer, the screams and pleas for help became even more vivid.
"Don't let them get away!"
"You rogue, get away from the cart,"
"Hahahaha… I am going to enjoy chopping your intestines."
"I want his skull for my wine collection."
As Leo and the old man got closer to the fighting, they could hear men shouting. Some were barking orders, others were fighting as if they were enjoying themselves.
Grendel's hands shook on the reins, "They might be taking women as prisoners. They will kill all the men and then round up the women to enjoy their bodies."
"Boiy! We are running to our own deaths. Don't you want to rethink…"
Leo smiled, cold and eager, "Relax old man. If we manage to survive and save a bunch of damsels in distress, not only we might get a heavy reward from the city lord."
"We might even invite some pretty ladies in our beds." Leo put his hand on Grendel's shoulder and looked at him earnestly, "Look at your face. Do you think apart from this ass you can get any other ass?" Leo eyed Hilda pulling the cart and smirked.
"Worst case, you will die a hero. Better than having "Pervy Old Man" on your grave."
"Now slow down. We don't want to alert them."
The Old man snorted, hearing Leo, but still slowed down his cart. Because deep in his heart, hearing Leo, he could not help feel something ticklish in his stomach. Who did not want to be a hero and bed different beautiful women everyday.
[Master! Blackfang Bandits are 50 meters away]
"Stop the cart," Leo whispered to the old man, and the old man obliged immediately.
Leo stealthily got off the cart and slipped behind a tree. He peeked from behind the tree and could see a burning wagon in the distance. Leo could also see a few bodies lying motionless on the ground.
"Please… Let me go," Leo heard a woman plead, "I will give you all the money I have. Just let me go."
Leo then spotted a woman crawling backwards, blood on her pink dress. He could not make her face because the only man standing among the corpses with his back towards Leo, was blocking his view.
The man was in a ragged black armor stood in front of her, twirling his sword
The man reached down and grabbed the girl by her hair, "Shut up, ya bitch. Ya made me lose six of my brothers."
"Now, no amount of pleading save ya. No money can save ya. No man can save ya. I will take my time making you regret it."
"And believe it, I will enjoy it," The man licked his lips looking at the weeping girl from top to bottom before stopping his gaze on her big bouncy breasts.
"I will make ya cry in pleasure. Ya will moan my name."
"And when I am done with ya, ya wouldn't want to leave my big cock,"
The man said, rubbing the girl's face against his hard cock.
Leo's eyes narrowed, as he looked at the man harshly treating the girl. He couldn't see her face from this angle, but he felt that she must be beautiful.

[Kill the Blackfang Bandit (Enemy Level: Level 3)]
Another quest appeared in front of Leo, just as he was trying to make a plan so that he does not appear to be intentionally failing, and if things go south, he has an escape route.
"You don't want me to leave, alive, do you?"
