Chapter 2 - Test-Tube Angel - Part 2

*Alex Breckton POV*

*Year: December 6th, 1992*

*Location: Underground Lab, Alaska*

The moment he saw me break out of the tube, he dropped his clipboard and began running away, which confused me a little. I mean, I had no proof this guy was an entirely different species from humanity, could've been a weird-looking Parahuman or something else entirely. Yet somewhere in the back of my mind, I kept telling myself that wasn't it, either; he had answers that I wanted.

Either way, he started running down a long, dark gay hallway with plenty of lights to reveal the...snow on the ground? Whatever, I quickly ran after him, and while the guy was fast, faster than most normal people, my new body was far faster as I rapidly cleared the hallway, reaching him. He then quickly turned around, his left hand curled into a fist as he went right for my face. However, my boy automatically responded, catching his fist and twisting it.

I then flipped him over, slamming him against the ground, and I think in the process broke his arm, considering his bone was sticking out, and near black red blood started pouring out. He screamed out in pain as he clutched his arm, and I let go of him, letting him writh in pain as I cracked my neck.

"Soooo, gonna tell me where the hell I am and just what the hell are you?"

He stared up at me, face full of hatred and fear, probably not sure what was gonna happen to him if he did answer all my questions, or if I didn't like the answers. That was mostly the fear part, no, instead the hatred came from the fact I was calm, emotionless, and as if I didn't care. Which wasn't true, no, I was still freaking out and currently putting up a calm front. Although I did feel something...something when I caught his fist, like I was gettign excited, but all of a sudden I feel bored now, like some form of hope was dashed away.

That must be a drawback. I had a whole lot of information flowing through my brain, which included perks and drawbacks. One of those is "Battle Junkie," aka the endless need to search out challenges and stronger opponents. A damn drug or addiction, essentially, especially in a world like this, with who knows how much changed about it. I was lucky that a forgetting drawback wasn't chosen, meaning I had the information available to me, but still, the fact that another version of me chose all this was weird enough, especially with the three to possibly five clones I had to deal with now, alongside three more fellow isekaiers.

I leaned down, looking directly at his eyes, his fear growing more palpable by the minute.

"Listen, you might survive all this if you just explain just what the hell is going on and what you are because in all honesty, I don't think you're a human, at all."

He just stared up at me as he sat up, and I moved back a bit in response, wanting to give him some room and be comfortable.

"Well...I suppose I can tell you something, first off, human, I am what most humans call a Sasquach, well before our subsequent discovery/integration into your society by the early 20th century."

"Took a whole damn while for us to get used to each other, but well...heh even now there's political and cultural turmoil, we just have equal rights on paper now."

"As for the where, well, you're currently in my own personal lab, one of the smaller parts of it anyway, found you out in the snow after gettign some strange energy readings."

I thought about it for a second, and well, I think I know where he was probably going with this. He probably thought I was a case 53, which in fairness I was, just not he kind he was expecting or anyone would anyway.

"So does that make you a parahuman of some kind?" I asked as I put my hand on my chin.

He blinked, surprised that I even knew what a parahuman was.

"H-H-How do you know, how could you-never mind, I am a tinker with most classyifing me as a level 5, I specialize in biological modification and your body."

"Your body is a treasure trove of knowledge I wanted to unlock, and from the small sample I studied and sent off to some... business partners, it showed me remarkable things. That energy pulse you emitted inside your containment cell was amazing."

"In fact, another colleague of mine was able to-" I put my hand in front of his face, stopping him from speaking.

I then began walking back and forth, knowing full well this guy just told me who would be possibly responsible for my clones. Alongside that was the fact that I had no way of knowing when the three other CYOA isekais would spawn in. Nor what their overall builds would be alongside their own chosen path, some might go the classic villain route, hero route, and somewhere in between.

"I already see where this is going, right now-" I was interrupted as the Sasquatch's head exploded, splashing me in a mix of blood, gore, and brains.

I quickly jumped back, freaked out, obviously, as I wiped the blood off my face and yet...felt nothing. It was like, I didn't feel any grief or anything like that, it's not like my emotions weren't gone, but rather like...I couldn't care about his death. Was it my angelic side from Neon Genesis, like I was staring at an enemy species or something like that, was this...was this how those beings felt as they slaughtered humans, distant and uncaring of their deaths. Combined with Innocent Monster from the nasuverse...the less humanity I had, the stronger I got.

Meaning I had to keep myself in check as to not lose myself, and lose who I am in the process, but...Battle Junkie would make the extremmly difficult. It would force me eventually to gain greater heights of strength for fights/battles. That also meant two things as well...I had an entire lab to myself now, meaning I could actually put some of my knowledge to use. For example, I had a nifty little technological ability called "Manpower Maker," meaning I could make clones to help around my newly acquired base and make the various mechs/prototypes.

Wiping the blood off my face, I leaned down and began rifling through his pockets, wanting to see if he had any information on him, either that or a wallet with some ID. I was going to bury him, so he at least deserved to have his name on a makeshift gravestone, even if he was a villain (well, possibly anyway), but the best thing I could find was some weird-looking device that was light gray, square-shaped, with various numbered buttons on it, and two tubes with wrapping coils around it.

I put it in the back of my pants, or well, one of my pockets anyway, but nothing else of note, meaning he probably had a locker or room somewhere. Well, two of the times chosen were a secret lair and a Portal Maker...just didn't expect to get in such a gruesome way. At least that's what I'm hoping this device was, but the question was, where did he find it? His tinker specialization, as he told me, didn't involve portals or anything like that, so did it pop in with me...or did whoever employed him have more of these to help move more quickly?

So many unanswered questions, and I let out a loud sigh as I opened the door at the end of the hallway, a simple switch, and bam, it was open. Made sense, sometimes, when cocky people have a whole secret base built, they get well...too confident for their own good. I wouldn't be surprised if the whole base was just like this. Although I did wonder as I went through the door if this group that I'm guessing financially backed him/supported him knew where this place was.

Oh well, that was tomorrow's Alex's problem, and I began to fully explore the facility and see if I could put this whole place to use. That, and if there was a training facility, see how I could manipulate my AT field further, I could feel it there, but in order to fully make use of it, I had to test it and explore how it could blend with Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist, and Whirlwind Iron Cutting Fist, as right now I hadn't fully mastered either. Combined with Stickman Mastery, which takes my martial arts to a new level, further evolved from what I can see into Stickman Talent, when combined with Rapid Learning, takes my learning speed to a whole new level.

Looking around, I entered a large two-story level, well, at the very least, with stairs to the right of me going upward. Alongside that, the second level had four regualr side doors, one labeled "Cleaning Supplies" and another labeled "Materials" with the last room being nameless. On the ground level, I was guessing there were only three doors, the one I came from, which didn't have a label, but I was guessing was used for special projects.

Then there was a large door, large enough to fit an entire house into, which I'm guessing was the reason this whole place was two-stories in the first place. Making it the perfect place to create/store the massive mechs in the future...Once I got this place up and running. Sure, I missed my family, but I was getting closer to accepting the fact that I may never see them again, which in itself was sad. I mean, when talking about the multiverse, you have to take into account literally infinity. The multiverse/maybe omniverse was infinite in size/scope.

Meaning that it was possible that in another section of the multiverse, I was having this exact sequence of thoughts, only I was a female or an entirely different species, maybe even a Sasquatch or whatever the proper name for that particular species here was. Either way, right now, I would need to make the best of a bad situation and make sure Zion, or was it Scion, didn't render this planet inhospitable.

After all, I would have had it for a long time, and even then, I had so many ideas on how to properly combine the mechs of Neon Genesis and Code Geass, well, the technology at least. Imagine an EVA unit powered by artificial Sakuradite, meaning it potentially lasts far longer without a tether cord powering it.

"Huh, that was weird." I say to myself as I stood in front of a nearby wall that was almost like a mirror.

I looked at my disheveled face, my red eyes, and my long white hair that now replaced my medium-length brown hair. I was a bit more muscular than I was before. I was not afraid to admit that before I was a bit...pudgy and had thin arms. So this was a welcome improvement, albeit one I would've liked without the...angelic blood flowing through me. I touch my face, mostly my cheeks, nose, and lips, to see if it worked properly.

It was all so...disorienting to look at, to see a face that was both foreign and familiar to me at the same time. I could already feel my own emotions being changed slowly over time by the physical and mental changes to my body; hell, I would believe it if my Velber self didn't start off so...so alien. Nor did I believe that he started off destroying civilizations left and right. No, it was probably more gradual, like my own transformation.

The fact of the matter was...I was no longer fully human, nor was I fully myself anymore. I was both changed physically and mentally, both by the sudden species change, well, kind of anyway. Alongside the instant knowledge of three different anime universes, each one is useful in its own way in how it could help change this world. Hell, I knew how to turn myself into an Esper from the Toaru universe, although I would need help to properly turn myself into one.

Which was why I wanted to get the "Manpower Maker" knowledge straight to use and begin cloning people to help out with the facility. Which was interesting enough to understand, I mean, being able to grow your own manpower/security force in a short space of time is amazing to know. Alongside the fact that they could be easily changed to suit whatever purposes you intended for them, although that did raise several ethical questions. Like, would it be right to grow completely new humans, bring them into the world, just to work?

Perhaps if I did start creating them, I could make a housing facility for them, an entertainment center, heck, a whole slew of other things to help them feel like a human being. That, and maybe give them access to the outside world, allows them to see it for themselves, and if they wished to leave, they could leave. Still, though I would've preferred to have more...robotic-based labor rather than full-on humans. Even now, I got a little twinge of something when I thought about it.
