"The meeting is tomorrow, Your Highness. I have been stalling them for too long, and now they want to meet with you for the marriage proposal with the daughter of Lord Jared," Romeo reminded me of what I had forgotten days ago.
The proposal between me and one of the lord's daughters.
"My wedding with her would stop the attack on the werewolves?" I asked him, and he nodded in response. "That is what the council thinks? My wedding will magically stop the attack?"
"I don't believe the humans have such powers to attack the werewolves, and even if they do, they couldn't possibly attack full-blooded werewolves just like that," Romeo explained, and I found sense in what he said.
Someone else must have been behind the killing of the werewolves, but who could it be? No one has answers to that yet.
"What is the gamma doing about it?" I asked him.
Romeo heaved a sigh and placed a hand on my desk. "He is still on it," he answered, leaning closer to me. "He is going to find the truth soon."
I nodded in response and opened my mouth to speak, but the door leading into my office burst open. "What the hell!" I shouted when I realized it was one of the concubines' guards. "What's happening?" I demanded.
"Your Highness," he bowed his head. "There is a huge problem in the concubines' wing," he announced. "A fight broke out and… one of the concubines stabbed another."
"What?" My eyes widened, and I exchanged looks with Romeo. No one needed to tell me that Rosella had caused trouble because I had been informed about the breakfast they were supposed to have together. I didn't bother listening to anything else as I stood up and rushed out of the office.
"Your Highness," Romeo called as he walked behind me. "We don't even know what we are going there for. It's the concubines; I am sure they can sort it out themselves," he said.
"I won't be known as an Alpha King who lets his concubines stab themselves to death, and I don't trust Rosella," I said through gritted teeth, thinking about the worst things she could have done by now.
When I got to the dining hall, I walked in as Rosella was removing a fork from Danielle's hand. After I made my presence known, she laughed and turned around to face me.
"Oops," she dropped the fork stained with blood to the ground and laughed. "I just stabbed your favorite concubine. What are you going to do about it?" She grinned at me without a hint of remorse, as if she was challenging my authority.
"Lady Rosella!" Romeo shouted at her. "How dare you speak to the king in such a manner!" He moved towards her, but I stopped him.
"Your Highness," he turned back to face me.
"Why?" He asked.
"I'll take care of this," I told him and moved closer to Rosella. "What have you done?"
"She is your favorite concubine, and I hated how she talked down to me!" Rosella chuckled and pointed towards Danielle. "She got on my nerves and called me names, Your Highness." She bowed slightly, but it seemed she was mocking me, testing my patience, and daring me to do my worst.
"Where is the fun if she doesn't suffer a little?" Varak laughed in my head. "I love her bold attitude."
Ignoring him, I grabbed her wrist firmly to stop her from causing further harm. "Enough," I said, keeping control of the situation. "I will not let this continue, but you will not force me to harm you."
Rosella yanked her hand free from mine and looked at me, slightly startled but defiant. "If you think I'll bow to you because you stopped me, then you are wrong!" She ruffled her hair and rubbed her wrist. "I am going to make sure that you regret stopping me!"
"Really?" I chuckled, silently accepting her challenge. She had seen me as merciful because I had decided to be patient with her since she was my mate, but my patience had limits. "Guards!" I called, and they appeared behind me.
"Your Highness!" They both bowed their heads.
"Take her to the Dark Room," I ordered.
Everyone present in the hall except Rosella gasped. She had no idea what the Dark Room meant because she had only been in the Red Room.
"A Dark Room?" She chuckled. "Is that some ballroom?" She laughed and looked around her. "Is that another room for your kinky obsession?"
I smirked at her and moved closer. I tucked her hair behind her ear and whispered, "Trust me when I say I'll give you everything you want in the Dark Room."
"Whatever is there then, I can't wait to find out," she responded nonchalantly.
I laughed softly and tutted. "You'll find out that it's much worse than hell," I told her, expecting to see a reaction, but her face remained the same, looking as if she wasn't scared of anything.
"Take her away," I ordered the guards.
"See ya!" She laughed as they escorted her out of the dining hall.
"Your Highness," Rebekah, one of the concubines, began to explain everything that had happened and how Rosella had instigated the fight.
No one needed to tell me because I knew Rosella would always be at fault. After listening to all the concubines' sides of the story, I picked Danielle from the ground.
"Thank you, Your Highness, for saving me," she clung to my clothes and sobbed. "Thank you, Your Highness. She almost killed me."
I ignored her and instead handed her over to Romeo. "Your Highness, what should I do with her?" He asked.
"Take care of her. There is something I need to handle," I told him and turned to leave.
Then I looked back to see the concubines staring at me, waiting for my command like the little puppets they were. "Go back to your rooms," I instructed. "Until I give further orders, you are to eat in your rooms," I said, leaving the dining hall with two guards.
They followed me to the north side of the mega-mansion, where the Dark Room was, and I stopped them when we reached the entrance.
"You may stop here."
"Yes, Your Highness," they bowed, and I entered the room.
When I entered, I heard Rosella screaming out in frustration. Because the room was dark, I had to find the switch and turn on the lights.
She stopped screaming when the light came on and turned to face me. She stood at the center of the room with her arms folded, glaring at me with unwavering defiance.
"Where have you brought me to?" she asked without showing any sign of remorse. "Is this the Dark Room you talked about?" She looked around as if she expected something different. "Are we supposed to stand in here?"
She doesn't know there was anything there because the Dark Room was hidden behind the wall where we stood.
I walked past her and opened a door at the center of the room. "What?" She chuckled. "You want to show me something else?" She laughed.
Without wasting time, I grabbed her hand and pulled her into the hidden room.
"Let me go!" She yelled. "What the hell…" her words were cut shorts as I pushed her to the ground and shut the door behind us.
"I expected you to show an ounce of remorse, but it seems you'll never change," I said, moving towards the dark bed.
I reached for the whip on the bed and stood tall before her. "Right here now, I will give you what you want."
"How do you mean?" For the first time, I heard her voice tremble slightly in fear. Great, now she was afraid. "What are you going to do to me?"
"You'll find out," I said sharply, snapping my fingers. "Soon."
The lights went off, and a deep, dim red filled the room. Thanks to my super vision, I could see everything around me, but Rosella could barely see anything as she struggled to find her way around.
I grabbed her from behind, and she jumped in fear.
"Where are you taking me? What will you do to me?" she struggled, trying to fight, but her strength was non-existent in front of me.
I carried her to the bed and gently lay her down." Let me go!" she demanded, but I did not release her. I bound her hands together with the chains at the headboard.
"Why are you doing this?" she yelled.
Instead of replying, I turned her over so her back faced me. I tore her dress, and while she tried to turn, I used the whip to lightly strike her, causing her to gasp in shock and anticipation.
"Welcome to the Dark Moon, dear," I chuckled. "Here, you will get what you want," I whispered into her ear, my breath fanning her neck. Then I leaned down and kissed her neck.
