"I need to get the hell out of here," Varak complained in my head. "I need my source of energy," he whined. "I need to fuck someone!" He moaned in my head.
"If you could stop whining!" I shouted at him and stared into the eyes of the lords seated and waiting for what I had to say. "I am in a meeting!"
The meeting started five minutes ago, but I still could not understand why I was there or what I was doing. When I tried to engage in the conversation, I said things I should never have said.
"What is the purpose of this gathering if it is centered on me?" I asked, and the lords all looked toward me. What about the lady that I am supposed to get married to? Where is she?"
They had been discussing the marriage proposal for hours, but I had not seen the bride I was supposed to marry yet—the bride I didn't want.
Five lords, members of the council of alphas, were in the throne room with me, and I knew each one had something to say.
