The aircraft was moving fast. The soldiers were sitting quietly. One of them was reading a small bible. One was praying. One of them was looking at a picture of his family. Kento sat there quietly without any word. He looked at them but didn't speak. V was holding a knife and was looking serious about the mission. V looked at Kento and he noticed he is looking different. He's scared but he is also trying to change himself. V smiles and calls his name. Kento looks at him. Kento's eyes were looking a bit different. V leans a bit towards him.
"So what will you do next when we get back alive?"
"What do you mean alive? Are we going to die?" Kento's reaction changed. Yep, he's still the same.
V laughs and says- "No, we are not going to die. It's probably a third-class void being. We will neutralize it." He lied. He knows it's not a third class. It's a special class. A captain was already with the first strike team and no one knows what was happening inside. Now a commander and a captain along with a full war-scale arsenal were deployed. It was certainly not a third-class mission. Kento leans forward and smiled.
"You know you can trust me with it. "V looked confused and looked at him. "What do you mean?" His tone felt curious. Kento smiles but it wasn't out of joy or happiness. He knows the stakes are too high. "It's not a third class, right?" The smile on V's face fades away. "So you have glimpsed the truth, huh? I never expected you to be this smart." Kento smiles because he now understands the basics. "So I will die, right?" V looked at him furiously. "Do you know why I hate you?" Kento was confused and asked why. "It's because you always underestimate yourself, Kento. You're not ordinary. You're special. Not because of the fragment." Kento looks down. He was feeling incredibly emotionally attached. He knows V is right but he doesn't find himself useful. "Touch down in twenty." Only twenty minutes left. They are almost there.
Suddenly the monitor turns red and an alarm started. The buzzer lights turned red. Kento panicked. The other soldiers started to panic as well but they became alert. V looked serious and asked the pilot what was going on. "We have multiple hostile objects coming near the chopper." V's eyes wide opened. Kento on the other hand was panicking. His heart rate increased. His hands became numb. He takes out his gun and holds it tightly. The soldiers put on their helmets and one of them was panicking. "We are mid-air; we can't even create a pocket here." V stood up and went for the cockpit. He slams the door open and sees the pilots are getting ready to make a deep dive. "How long before the deep dive?" The pilots were operating calmly and they were focused. "We need five minutes; the jump portal is not ready." V looks at the monitor and noticed the targets are getting closer. "Jump as fast as you can." He rushed back. Weapons loaded. Kento was seeing everyone ready for whatever happens. He asked a soldier what was going on but he ignored Kento. He asked them but no one answered. He asked again and this time a soldier yelled. "Shut up, you moron. It's a critical situation. Those bastards are coming for us and we can't even create a pocket dimension here." Suddenly the chopper felt a tremble. It tilted towards the right. They all lost balance. Kento rolled over and fell. He slammed his head and his vision became blurry. His eyes were getting closed. He felt those tremblings. The soldiers are pointing their guns everywhere but couldn't trace them. Suddenly an explosion happened. The aircraft door exploded midair and Kento noticed a humanlike figure jump inside. His vision was getting stable and he noticed it's not a human. Its head was half humanlike and half of it was covered in distorted void energy. Its hand was covered in void energy and its legs were too thin but leaking a black aura. Its chest had several holes that were leaking aura. Kento noticed it opened its mouth. Tentacles like multiple tongues. Its eyes were golden and silver. The soldiers backed away and Kento gets up but as soon as he sees it he froze up. His hands refused to move. The soldiers hold their guns tightly. The void being didn't move. It stood there quietly. Kento sensed something. He looks back and sees V was standing behind him. His guns in his hand but he didn't move. The soldiers didn't move. Breaths were getting heavy and the pilots were sweating. Four minutes and twenty seconds remaining before the jump gets activated. The void being looks at Kento and screams. Its screaming was like a metal bar is getting scratched on a blackboard. "Kill it." V screams.
Meanwhile, in the VE bunker, the people in the command room have also noticed that the aircraft is being attacked. Their monitors have turned red. A hologram projection is being placed. Everything which is happening to the aircraft is being displayed in the hologram projection. Rez was sitting and Ema was staring at the monitor. "It's not good. It means they knew we would come for them." Rez was feeling furious. Monica was standing behind him and was observing the whole situation. Ema didn't say anything. He keeps staring at the monitor. Rez was feeling frustrated. Monica steps forward and asked how many hostile signs were detected. The operator was under extreme pressure and says - "We have detected around seventeen of them. One of them is inside the plane." Monica takes a deep breath. "Launch the Raptor." Ema ordered the operator. Monica looked at her and says - "The Raptor is just a prototype; it's not ready." Ema looks at her and smiles. "It's now or never." Monica doesn't say anything. Rez stood up and walked away. "They will pull it off; don't worry." He was confident. Monica leans closer towards the monitor. "Launch the Raptor. Full-scale jump."
The aircraft was flying deep in the clouds. The cargo door was broken. The aircraft wasn't stable. The pilots were trying to stabilize it. Inside the aircraft, the void being was laying on the floor. Its whole body was covered in holes. Not its natural ones, but it was turned into ashes by the bullets. The aircraft took serious damage. V was standing in front of the void being. His gun's barrel was leaking smoke. A soldier was severely wounded. Meanwhile, Kento stood there frozen. The gun grip was sticking in his hand. The void being was neutralized, but they lost three soldiers during the process. A severed head was laying around and the body was thrown away by the void being.
"Two minutes until the jump. "The first pilot talked through the headset. "You fool, the cargo door is on fire and the aircraft is not stable; we will die if we jump." The second pilot yelled.
"Do it.We don't have any choice." V muttered through the headset they all were wearing. A glitching voice in their headset. It was Ema. "Do not lose Kento. V, I am saying it again, do not lose Kento. T. .Th... Rap...." The communication cuts off. V looks upwards and senses there are many other void beings dropping. The others sensed it too. Kento was standing there while holding his gun. His eyes were shocked open. The way that creature attacked and killed those three was too much for him. He looks at V. "V, are they coming for me? Am I the reason why they are dead." His guilt was visible. He almost cried. His eyes were full of despair. V looked at him but said nothing. Suddenly the aircraft felt an extreme shockwave. The void beings are right above it. This time a dozen of them. V reloads his gun. Kento looks at his and looked at V. V points his gun upwards and is ready to shoot. The other soldiers are ready. A soldier passed a parachute towards Kento. "You heard what she said, right? So wear it now." The soldier yelled. It was the same soldier who yelled at him before. The void beings looked terrified. The wind pressure was extremely high, but they didn't move an inch. A void being punched through the aircraft and its hand reached inside. The soldiers and V shoot it. They can't hold back anymore. The pilots looked at the countdown. One minute and seventeen seconds. Suddenly the void being looked backwards and saw a blue light. Even V noticed it from a distance. Kento squinted his eyes and saw a blue light getting bigger and closer. A soldier looks at it. "What the hell is that?" V's eyes wide opened. He puts down his gun and runs towards Kento. "Kento, get down." He yelled. The other soldiers looked at it and it came closer. A huge drone-like aircraft. It was bulky. It was big and a reactor was placed. The wings looked futuristic and a nuclear logo covered both wings. It was approaching fast. Suddenly the void beings screamed. They started damaging the aircraft. It approaches faster and faster. V jumps and grabbed Kento. He pins him down and looked back. The drone came in contact. It was right above them. The void beings are now right under it. Suddenly the reactor glowed. The blue light covered the whole sky. A massive shockwave was released and the whole aircraft shook. The shockwave destroyed the void beings. Each and every one of them got neutralized. Their eyes became black. When the glow of their eyes fades away they die. Every one of them scattered in the wind. The aircraft lost all control. V yelled. "Everyone, hold on." The shockwave knocked out the pilots. The aircraft can't make the jump. Kento was losing consciousness. His eyes were getting closed. His vision blurry. He only sees V holding him and yelling. The voice, his surroundings; he couldn't feel anything. His eyes get closed.
Monica slammed her fist. Ema looks at the monitor. The projection feed cuts off. Kento, V, and the others are now in the dark. The darkness of the void.
