My mom brings me to the town garden, its a very popular prom photo spot with a large gazebo, gorgeous flowers and a river with a dock. Of course all my friends decided that we had to get our pictures taken there with our dates. We rented a limo and it's picking us up there so after our pictures are taken we will all head out together.
When I get there most of my friends and their dates are already waiting. I can see some of them taking their couples pictures and pictures with family. It's such a beautiful spot so even though it's somewhat crowded I definitely see why my friends said we had to do the pictures here. As I walk up I see Rhett from the corner of my eye. I must admit he looks handsome. He's wearing a form fitting three piece suit in all black, a black dress shirt with a teal tie and teal pocket square that matches my dress perfectly. I am honestly shocked with how good he looks. He's always been a fairly attractive guy but I just never looked at him that way. Seeing him like this kinds makes my knees go weak.
"Wow, Amethyst you look breathtaking." Rhett compliments when he sees me.
"Thank you, you don't look too bad yourself."
"Why thank you, I do clean up nicely don't I." He replies straightening his tie.
I laugh at his smugness and just roll my eyes.
"Here, I got this for you." He pulls out a beautiful black ribbon and teal roses corsage and places it on my wrist. I notice it also has a matching boutonniere so I take that out and pin it to his lapel.
"Thank you, it's gorgeous! You really have out done yourself!"
"It's the least I can do since you said yes to me being your date. Plus you are worth doing things for." He says and I blush slightly at his words.
We take about an hour for pictures and then we all pile into the limo. We all laugh and joke around during the ride and once we get to the location all the guys get out from one side then rush around to the other side and line up to help us ladies out of the car. It's so cute at their attempts to be romantic tonight.
We get inside and the place is stunning. There's a wrap around staircase in the middle of the venue with a gorgeous chandelier in the middle. The photographer is set up on one side of the stairs getting amazing photos of everyone that wants one. We decided that we would go get a table first then go stand in line for the photographer. After we all got our pictures taken we went back into the ballroom. Once everyone is settled in the chaperones make a few announcements then the party starts. We all get up and start dancing.
Rhett's hands are on my waist and he's grinding himself against me. It's a little awkward but I guess we've been in more awkward situations due to our fake dating. Eventually I need to go to the bathroom so I let Rhett know and he tells me he will go get us something to drink. As soon as I get into the hall I'm cornered.
Cliff's POV
As we planned I got a date to the prom, turns out a girl that lives a few houses down from me is a known lesbian in the school but is in the closet at home. Her parents are very openly anti-lgbt so she hasn't come out to them. Her girlfriend is a she-wolf in my pack and found out that I was looking to find a way into prom so she arranged for me to take her girl. Turns out they are mates and once they both graduate they plan to run away together so they don't have to explain anything to the girls very human, very judgmental parents about not only being lesbian but also about the werewolf community. Usually when a werewolf mates with a human tradition brings the immediate family in and informs them of our existence. There's few instances where this doesn't happen because it would be more dangerous for all involved and this looks like it maybe one of those times.
We get to the venue and I see Amy taking pictures with that douche canoe Rhett. Outlaw growls at that but I assure him it's only for tonight and once she's alone we will make her ours.
I stay in a dark part of the room watching her dance away with her friends. Outlaw hasn't stopped growling in my head. We hate watching Rhett grinding on her. He's a slime ball and it drives us nuts that she doesn't see it.
After a while we see her turn to Rhett and say something pointing towards the hall. He shakes his head and says something back then heads towards the drink station. 'Now's our chance.'
We watch her enter the bathroom and wait making sure no one else is around. As soon as she's out we corner her.
"Hey baby."
"Cliff? What are you doing here? How did you get in, you graduated already and I know they check to make sure no one crashes."
"I am the official unofficial date of Amanda from your graduating class. Her parents don't know she's playing for the same team as me so to speak so I offered to be her cover." I answer shrugging my shoulders. "As for what I am doing here, I showed up for you, I didn't know you would have a date though, so that was a bit of an unexpected surprise but now that you know that I am here, you can ditch Rhett and spend the rest of the night with me, like we were supposed to until I screwed everything up."
"You're insane. I'm not going to ditch my date or my friends for you, we are over and we are never getting back together, so please stop trying. It's exhausting having to repeat myself."
"You don't mean that." I say almost sounding defeated.
"Yeah, I do." She says pinching the bridge of her nose like she's over this conversation.
"Then I'm sorry for what we have to do but we can't lose you, not now not ever." I say as I grab her arm and place my hand over her mouth so she doesn't scream.
