Inside S.H.I.E.L.D.'s temporary base, Fitz—who had been sitting at his computer the whole time—suddenly shouted,"The hammer's energy readings are spiking!"
At his words, all the scientists froze for a few seconds, then immediately bolted toward the hammer, pulling out all kinds of instruments to start testing it.
Although S.H.I.E.L.D. scientists had encountered many supernatural forces before, an artifact on the level of Thor's Hammer was exceedingly rare.In fact, aside from the Tesseract, almost nothing could compare to Mjolnir.
Under everyone's gaze, the hammer began to tremble.The soil and stone beneath it cracked apart, as if some world-shattering power was awakening within.
"Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor."
That ethereal voice echoed from within the hammer itself.As the incantation ended, Mjolnir shot into the sky, soaring toward Thor—and with it came a massive thunderstorm.
The Destroyer, just climbing to its feet, didn't immediately attack Zede.Instead, it turned its gaze toward the distant heavens.
On his throne, Loki's face changed drastically. "No!"
Mjolnir streaked through the sky with the roar of thunder and storm.Say what you will, but the sheer spectacle of it was undeniably magnificent.Even Zede had to admit—Thor's entrance was far more dramatic than his own.
Back at S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, Nick Fury looked as though he might explode.His face darkened, his expression terrifying—like a wrathful demon.
But when he saw the storm-charged hammer streaking toward the battlefield, Fury instantly realized he'd been played.
"Motherf—! Damn it, Zede! Damn your future sight! Motherf—!"Fury exhaled deeply, then kept cursing without pause.
Meanwhile, Loki snarled out his order:"Stop it!"
At his command, the Destroyer's visor lifted, revealing the deadly glow within.It aimed straight at Thor's mortal form, clearly intent on annihilating him before the hammer could reach him.
Zede didn't know whether Loki's plan would work, but he certainly wasn't about to let it."No way I'm letting you succeed!"
He hurled the Clock-Hand Sword at the Destroyer's head.The impact made its head lurch slightly aside, and the blazing energy beam instead blasted through a row of townhouses.
Seizing the moment, Zede charged forward, leaping into the air.He twisted midair, flipping past the Destroyer's iron fist, then stepped onto its arm and drove a powerful kick straight into its head.
Boom!
The uru-metal armor dented visibly from the blow—but since the Destroyer had no pilot inside, there was no one to suffer a concussion.
In the blink of an eye, glowing runes along the armor flared to life,and the dented plating repaired itself as if nothing had happened.
Zede's ankle, however, wasn't so lucky."Ah—damn, that hurts!" he hissed, hopping on one foot.
That kick had cracked not only the Destroyer's helm, but his own bones as well.Though his Amazonian physique healed almost instantly, the pain was still real.
As his leg finished mending, Zede flexed it with a wince."Phew... this uru metal is seriously tough."
The Destroyer, this hollow iron juggernaut, was surprisingly tricky to deal with.
Neither time-stop nor future sight could harm it directly.The Demon Emperor Sword could destroy it—but Zede still couldn't fully control that weapon.
As for magic?Not only was his own spellcasting still clumsy, but uru metal itself was one of the most magic-conductive substances in existence.Its entire body was inscribed with dense magical runes.Zede wasn't about to embarrass himself trying to out-magic a walking magic conduit.
He was just about to consider using the "King's Ultimate Slash – Second Form" when lightning suddenly crashed down from above.
"Oh my God!" Jane and the others stared in awe at the incredible sight before them.
Thor stood bathed in lightning, Mjolnir in hand.The silver scale armor and red cape marked the glorious return of the God of Thunder.
Thor's eyes snapped open—and the first thing he did was hurl Mjolnir straight at the Destroyer.Bang!The hammer struck with a thunderous boom, sending the metallic giant flying.
Thor landed beside Zede and called his hammer back with an outstretched hand."You made me wait long enough, my friend. But tell me—why wait until I was nearly dead to join the fight?"
"I thought you were just going to watch," Zede quipped, tugging on Thor's red cape."If I stepped in earlier, you wouldn't have gotten this cape back. Anyway—do me a favor. Here, press this."
"What's this?"
Thor asked even as he pressed the button.Zede sighed inwardly. Does he even listen before acting?
That must be what they call simple-minded hero energy.
The blank watch face lit up with a brilliant orange glow, and even the air seemed to sweeten.Zede slotted the watch into his Chrono Driver—transforming on the spot.
A circular zipper formed above his head once more—but this time, instead of a lemon, an orange dropped down.The giant orange split apart and reshaped into a brand-new suit of armor.
Woz stepped up beside Zede, announcing loudly:"Rejoice! The King of Time who has inherited the power of all Riders—he now takes up the strength of a legendary warrior, transforming into Kamen Rider Zi-O – Gaim Armor!"
"Come on, come on—time for a flashy debut!"Zede drew both Daidaimaru blades and crossed them with a spark.
Thor stared, wide-eyed, as if witnessing an entirely new world.For the first time, he thought that shouting 'I am Thor, God of Thunder!' during battle might actually be kind of lame.Maybe he needed a herald to announce his entrances too.
"Thor, smash that tin can first. I'll slice it into ribbons afterward," Zede said, his twin blades trembling with anticipation.
Thor laughed heartily and shot into the air."Haha! I just hope I don't hit too hard and blow it up!"
Zede twitched his lips. If Odin hadn't limited the Destroyer's power, you wouldn't be winning this fight at all, he thought.
Still, since Odin had chosen to sacrifice the Destroyer for his son's growth—and since that armor would eventually end up in Zede's hands—he wasn't about to spoil the moment.
He crouched, then leapt skyward."Take this—!"
Thor immediately shifted aside to give him a clear path.
The Destroyer, too slow to react, took both Daidaimaru blades from shoulder to foot.Twin gashes tore across its body—almost enough to split the uru plating open.
But Zede's assault wasn't done yet.
He spun and slashed again and again, blades flashing faster and faster, sparks scattering in every direction.Each strike bit deep, leaving hundreds of cuts across the Destroyer's armor.
Letting Zede continue like this was clearly unwise.The Destroyer raised both fists, ready to strike back—but Thor wasn't idle.
He soared through the sky, hammer in hand, pounding the Destroyer's head again and again with lightning-charged blows.
The towering automaton was bigger than both men combined,but that only gave Thor and Zede room to coordinate their attacks—Zede striking low, Thor striking high—driving the creature into total disarray.
From afar, Loki's eyes blazed.He lifted Gungnir and shouted, "Kill them—both of them!"
In theory, Gungnir allowed perfect control over the Destroyer.But that was only theory—only Odin himself could unleash its full power.
Under Loki's command, the Destroyer's strength surged slightly—just enough to unleash an even more ferocious barrage.
Thor called down more lightning, wrapping Mjolnir in thunder.He struck again and again, the metallic giant ringing like a bell, its armor on the verge of collapse.
Zede wasn't far behind.The two Daidaimaru blades on his back suddenly came alive, coiling like dragons.Now wielding four blades at once, he unleashed a whirlwind of steel, cutting with overwhelming ferocity.
With a sharp crack, the Destroyer's right knee shattered.It stumbled—and Thor seized the moment.
He swung his hammer in a mighty uppercut,smashing the Destroyer's jaw and sending it flying.
Then Thor soared into the air, summoning the storm.Hurricane winds engulfed the Destroyer, lifting it high—right between Zede below and Thor above.
Thor raised his hammer high, gathering all the power of the storm, and roared:"For Asgard!"
Zede twisted the Chrono Driver.All four blades flared with bright orange light—sweet, sharp, and deadly.He dropped into a stance and leapt upward.
"Juicing Time—Crush!"
Blue lightning descended from above.Orange blade-light surged upward.Hammer and swords met through the Destroyer's body, and in that instant, a blinding white explosion swallowed everything.
Everyone watching from New Mexico felt a chill in their hearts.Such power—wielded by two beings—was deeply unsettling.
Worse still, one was an alien prince calling himself the God of Thunder,and the other a lawless demon king.Neither were people the world could afford to offend.
Many silently wished those two monsters would destroy each other—but such wishful thinking would never come true.
When the white light faded, Thor and Zede stood once more upon the ground.The Destroyer was gone—not even a fragment remained.
After the battle, Thor immediately embraced Jane."Jane, I'm sorry. I must return to Asgard—my father and my people need me."
"Okay," Jane said softly. "Be careful."
"I'll be back soon. Wait for me!"With that, Thor stepped onto the Bifrost bridge and vanished into the sky.
Zede, watching from afar, only sighed.He knew poor Jane would be waiting a long time.
