Chapter 148 - Chapter 149: The Two Kings of the Adventurer’s Association.

By then, it was already later in the evening.

Alex escorted Furina back to his bedchamber.

He placed the cocoa beans and pineapples in his room.

He only kept a dozen peeled pineapples for himself, to eat and share during the three-day blank period.

"Good night, Fufu~ Sweet dreams," Alex said his goodbyes at Furina's door.

"Good night! You too," Furina smiled, saw Alex off, and closed the door.

Then Furina skipped back to his bed, took off his clothes, got under the covers, and went to sleep.

Before long, he entered a sweet dreamland.

Alex, having walked out of Palais Mermonia, looked at the sky; the night was beautiful.

He checked his phone; it was 20:58.

"Only eight o'clock!" Alex said, speechless.

Now he really couldn't sleep! It was too early!

"Why bother in life..." Four words echoed in front of Palais Mermonia.

And then, both the person and the sound vanished.

Mondstadt, Windrise.

A figure suddenly appeared here.

"Alright, first let me check the four commissions Katheryne gave me. Perfect, I'll finish them before bed, and maybe there will be new commissions tomorrow," Alex said, looking at the four commissions.

"Not bad~" Alex nodded; he saw a familiar commission name, "Dangerous High Places!"

It brought back memories; before, in Fontaine, there were no commissions like this.

So, Alex drove his armored little bunny car and quickly arrived at the commission locations. All four commissions were completed in less than half an hour.

"Meow~~~"

As soon as Alex arrived at the Adventurers' Guild in Mondstadt, he heard a cat's meow.

It wasn't surprising, as the Cat's Tail Tavern was not far away.

But with another glance up, Alex actually saw a familiar person.

"Lumine???" Alex looked in surprise at the Damselette in front of him, who was holding a cat, with two Inteyvat Flowers in his short yellow hair.

"It's you. Why aren't you asleep yet?" Lumine placed the cat on the counter in front of Katheryne and turned to look at Alex.

Alex spread his hands: "Huh? Shouldn't I be asking you that!"

Lumine calmly explained his situation: "Oh, I just found a cat that looked a lot like the cat in the 'find the cat' commission I took, so I managed to catch it."

"Eh? Where's Paimon?" Alex looked around Lumine, but didn't find the emergency food, little Paimon.

Lumine also spread his hands, looking helpless: "Oh, him, as soon as he got back to the inn, he fell asleep soundly."

"Alright, it is indeed the one from the commission. You can now go directly to the client and deliver this little cat to him," Katheryne nodded.

"Okay," Lumine said, picking up the cat again.

This cat was really obedient; it wasn't difficult to catch at all. Perhaps it was just exhausted from playing all day outside.

"So, why are you here too?" Lumine asked again.

This time, Alex explained, as he approached Katheryne.

"Because I've already finished those four bounty commissions," Alex told Lumine, then completed the task handover with Katheryne and took on four more.

"Alright, we will send someone to verify it as a formality. As for the rewards, please come back before noon tomorrow to collect them," Katheryne finally said with a smile.

Seeing Alex about to leave with Lumine, Katheryne couldn't help but add: "Please both of you pay attention to resting. Completing commissions doesn't require such a rush. There's no need to even do commissions outside at night."

Katheryne's main point was, "Don't overwork yourselves, don't overwork yourselves!"

You two are truly overworking yourselves, the kings of overwork.

Others take one or two days to just finish one commission, while you've finished four, eight.

Alex and Lumine walked ahead, simultaneously raising a hand behind them to wave, without looking back, and without taking his words to heart.

Of course, commissions must be completed quickly and fiercely! Only then can they enjoy playing in the open world.

After Lumine delivered the cat to its owner, and with the person's gratitude, Lumine and Alex left the area.

"Then Lumine, you should go back to sleep. As for me, I might consider driving around Mondstadt a bit more! To find blue Ley Line Outcrops and farm some EXP books," Alex said, planning to bid farewell to Lumine and go out to fight monsters.

Lumine originally intended to say goodbye to Alex and go back to sleep, but Alex mentioned driving.

Instantly, Lumine became energized: "Car!!!"

He had been so excited about getting the skyward ak that he forgot Alex also had a car for him to try driving.

Lumine only hesitated for a moment, looking at the sky; it was still very early, only eight o'clock!

Then, looking at Alex, who had turned to leave, Lumine quickly reached out and grabbed his long robe.

Then, in the next instant, Alex and Lumine appeared at a Teleport Waypoint near Wolvendom.

Alex thought, he would start flying from the west to the east. It wouldn't take long to run that route.

Alex summoned Baron Bunny, turned his head, and only then realized that Lumine was also beside him.

"Huh?" Alex looked at Lumine with a puzzled expression.

"I'm not too sleepy yet. I thought about it, and it's still early. So I'll accompany you to fight some monsters," Lumine said, then unreservedly added: "Besides, you said before you'd let me drive your motorcycle. Now is a good time! There aren't many people at night, and it's a deserted area, perfect for the two of us to drive."

Alex nodded.

Alright, alright, he didn't expect Lumine to want to accompany him to farm monsters in the middle of the night. Although it was because he wanted to drive... Perfect, he had a free, real-life driver!

Lumine sat on the armored little bunny car, gripping the handlebars with both hands, and tilted his head, motioning for Alex to get on.

At the same time, tactical goggles appeared before Lumine's eyes. These thin, high-tech style goggles were not only suitable for shooting but also perfect as windproof glasses for riding!

Alex smiled slightly, sitting behind Lumine.

Not bad, this was his first time experiencing being driven on a motorcycle here.

Moreover, the person driving was Lumine, whom he knew and liked~

"Vroom~" The armored little bunny car started and began to move.

One hundred, two hundred, three hundred. Lumine drove very skillfully. He was particularly steady, and when he encountered turns, he didn't slow down, executing several cool drifts around the bends.

Alex couldn't help but admire Lumine's skill.

Even with that, Lumine still humble-bragged, saying he hadn't driven in many years and his hands had become rusty.

And in no time, Lumine drove Alex, speeding across the ground, to a large wind wall.

Lumine braked, stopping there. He raised a hand to his forehead, looking into the distance.

This scene was really nice~, it's just that all the surrounding roads seemed to be blocked by the wind wall.

"This seems to be where Dvalin landed before, right?" Lumine said with uncertainty.

"Yes, it is. This is Stormterror's Lair," Alex nodded, and then suddenly realized.

Why was the wind wall of Stormterror's Lair still there, not yet dispelled?

After thinking for a moment, Alex understood the reason. It would have followed the normal procedure, but because he had skipped that procedure, the wind wall of Stormterror's Lair was still there, not yet dispelled.

But it didn't matter! Alex just needed to take something out of his backpack, and that would perfectly solve the problem!

That's right, that item was...
