I jolt awake sitting up from where i was lying down and looking around, but all i see is white so i rub my eyes and the check to see if all i see is white..... yep... as i mutter to myself. "What the fuck? Where the fuck? Who in the fuck? No wait... no seriously.... huh?"
Continuing to look around and even crouching down to try and touch where im standing, only to feel and see that my hand "phases" through whatever i am stepping on.
"O.....Kayyy..... im floating in a white space with no actual "ground"... then how the fuck? Am i walking? Or standing? He-"
As a voice suddenly intterupts my train of thought with a booming voice that calmly cuts in. "Oh! Another human. Thats rare i didn't expect to see two humans in a row tonight nya."
I scramble back a bit to try and look around for where that voice came from. Since it sounded so gritty and elderly.
Yet i see nothing.
"Nyahaha don't fret human child, i am talking directly into you mind, and does my voice really sound like that? Hmm, well no matter. Here come sit with me. Behind you."
As i then quickly turn around to see a small table with two pillows on the ground, one pink and one blue and on the other side of the table is an orange cat sitting on a rainbow colored pillow... okay.... weird...
But i oblige, not like im in some random ass white space not knowing where the fuck i am. So i head over and see that the pillows look slightly worn and thin. So i stack them together before sitting down on it cross-legged.
"Mya..."
The cat meows while licking its paws as it then looks at me as i hear another voice in my head.
"Interesting choice nya. But no matter, you must be wondering where this is nya?" As the cat sees me nod. "Understood nya. This place, human is what you would call... a border between life and death nya."
Huh? I tilt my head slightly. "W-what? What do you mean? A boring between life and death? Wait..."
As i start to piece it together. "Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. Don't you dare tell me.... that i died... in my sleep.... and on my birthday?"
As i hear an audible sigh in my head. "Mya... you got it right. My condolences human. But it seems that one of my descendants deemed that your face would be a comfortable spot to sleep on nyan."
"Wait! What does this mean for me then! Am i gonna go to hell now?" I ask questioningly as this all feels surreal still.
As the cat shakes its head. "No nya. Also hell isn't real, nor is heaven that you humans speak about. And its fine to feel confused nya. Even i, who got turned i to a god felt like it meow."
As i took a double take and then look around. Realising what really just happened. "Ah... you're a god... a cat god... but wait. Why am i talking to a cat god instead of a human god?"
The cat then stretches as a laughter booms in my head. "Nyahahaha! Call it karma human. Let me continue. While hell and heaven dosen't exist. Ones own karma affects where we all inevitably end up. Like me for example, i was just your every day stray, but even as a stray, i protected human children from those you call kidnappers and those large metal boxes you call cars. And when my time was eventually up and took my last breath. I too found myself here and met another being similar to myself. Though nyah.... that being was weird. It was another human. But that human wasn't actually a god... more like i think he was just stuck here for a while nya... a hairless human with a very bored expresionless face with a yellow suit and red gloves, boots and cape just floating around the space nya. He looked so grateful when i finally arrived as he seemingly punched a hole in this white space and quickly hopped in before the space closed up just as quickly nya.... i didn't even catch what the human said before i was left alone here nya...."
As i watch the cat ramble on for a bit. And decide to ask. "Wait. You saidbthere were others before me?"
The cat perks up and nods. "Yes nya. There has been other humans before you that have met similar or worse fates and it is my job to send these souls on to other worlds as to not to overpopulate the ever growing karmic souls of earth nyea."
I pause for a moment and realise what that meant. "Wait. So are there others like you? I mean ones that sends souls to other worlds?"
The cap nods again then looks up. "Yes human. While i cannot say how many of us there really is. It seems a higher being has made me and other similar beings as such due to your species.... population rise nya."
Oh great. Im getting Isekai'ed and luckily not by truck kun, atleast thats a plus. I didn't get to experience pain before actually dying since i died in my sleep...
"Nya? You're awfully calm about this human" the cat interjects while licking its paw.
"Hm? Oh. Yeah. Theres a thing called isekai trash, basically fictional stories about other worlds and theres alot of them in the net. Its basically the most saturated genre of stories there is." As i shrug.
"Nyahaha. Well thats great then, that simplifies things a bit for me as thats technically my job, now hang on for a bit as i find a suitable world for your soul to inhabit and be reincarnated into." As the cat suddenly vanishes infront of me.
As i perk up. "Hey wait. Do i get like some cool powers or some shit? Like a game system? Or a special equipment?"
As i hear a boisterous boom of a laughter. "Nyahahaha! Human! Do you think me of some all powerful being capable of such? My task is only to send souls to other worlds! Not destroy them! You have been the most funniest human i have ever met thus far... so... hmm yes this will do. Whike i wont be ablento give you powers i can give you a special ability of sorts in this new world of yours."
As i feel a sting in my head causingnme somenslight dizziness. "Augh... w-what did you do?"
"Nya? Oh that? Well just wait and see once you arrive in your new world. Just a fair warning. This new world that the higher being seems to want to place you in, seems like a very dangerous one. So keep on your toes or however you humans say it. Good luck nya!"
As my vision suddenly darkens and i black out.
