Anna's expression turned icy as she pushed Daniel away, warning him, "Stay away from my kid."
Seeing her anger, Daniel quickly tried to calm her. "Alright, alright, I'll come back after the test results are out."
Anna stared at him for a long moment before slowly voicing her doubts. "Daniel, you claim you were the man back then, so why didn't you admit it when I asked?"
Daniel had prepared for this question.
Putting on a pained expression, he said, "Anna, I owe you an apology. I was drowning in debt back then. If I admitted the truth, I was afraid the creditors would come after you, so I stayed silent."
The truth was, he had already taken a lot of money from Tina, and later Tina had built ties with the Luke family.
If he had revealed everything, it would have meant going against Tina, something he couldn't afford unless he had a death wish.
Anna showed no reaction to his excuse and turned to leave.
