Cyrille clearly didn't believe her. He let out a cold laugh. "What's this? You can help Cassius but not me? Elizabeth, do you think I'm easy to bully?"
Elizabeth's heart trembled.
When she had been entangled with Cassius, at least his coldness was direct, he never schemed or played tricks.
But Cyrille… he was different. He hid his cruelty behind a smile, and that made him even more terrifying.
With three burly men glaring at her, Elizabeth quickly stammered, "No, no! How could I dare deceive you? I swear, it wasn't me who saved Cassius. If I could have saved him, why would I have waited three years?"
Cyrille paused, his expression freezing over. "If it wasn't you, then who was it?"
"Nevaeh Huck! It was definitely her!" Elizabeth blurted out. "The day after she married Cassius, he woke up. She must have been the one who saved him! And she used a silver needle on me once, it made me mute for an entire night. Her medical skills are amazing. She's the one who healed him!"
