The middle-aged man leaned in, ready to grab her, but Nevaeh gritted her teeth, lifted her head, and used it as a weapon, smashing it hard against the side of his head.
With a sickening thud, the man's eyes rolled back, and he crumpled to the floor, completely still.
Ryan, who had been watching nearby, was totally thrown. He had planned to just watch Nevaeh get hurt and then report back, but he never expected this woman, tied up and seemingly helpless, would actually take a guy down.
His fake calm started to crack, turning into real fear as he caught the bloodthirsty look in Nevaeh's eyes. He instinctively shrank back.
"Did Elizabeth send you to do this?" Nevaeh's gaze was locked on him, her voice icy.
Ryan's cowardly side showed immediately at the mention of Elizabeth's name."Why would I tell you?"
