It was hard to tell if Nevaeh's words actually got through to him, or if Ryan was finally starting to suspect Elizabeth, but after a long, tense moment of hesitation, he finally agreed to her deal.
He untied the ropes around her ankles, but before he let her hands go, he gave her a sharp warning. "I can let you go, but I can just as easily tie you up again. Don't try anything funny."
"It's Elizabeth who's been playing you this whole time," Nevaeh shot back.
Hearing that, Ryan's face darkened as he remembered all the ways Elizabeth had manipulated him over the last few weeks.
But just as he was about to untie her wrists, the middle-aged man on the floor suddenly groaned and woke up.
Seeing what was happening, he immediately started yelling, "What the hell are you doing? You think you can just let her go? Damn it, you promised me this woman! How dare you try to trick me!"
