Chapter 33 - Interrupted Comfort

Teasing, Closeness, and a Knock at the Door

Fah never thought a small apartment could feel so alive. His textbooks were scattered across the desk, laptop half-open, but none of it mattered. What mattered was Tawan sprawled across his bed, one hand lazily tucked behind his head, the other patting the space beside him.

"Come here," Tawan said, his grin smug.

Fah hovered awkwardly by the desk. "We were supposed to be studying."

Tawan arched a brow. "We're still studying. I'm studying you."

Fah groaned, but heat flushed his cheeks. He gave in, climbing onto the bed, half-annoyed at how natural it felt to slip into the space beside him. The mattress dipped, pulling them closer.

Before Fah could speak again, Tawan leaned in, lips brushing his in a kiss that was softer than the night before, but no less intoxicating. Fah melted almost instantly, fingers threading through Tawan's hair. The kiss deepened quickly, turning playful—Tawan nipped at his lower lip, Fah retaliated with a low growl, both of them laughing breathlessly between kisses.

"You're addicted," Tawan whispered against his mouth.

"You started this," Fah shot back, though his voice betrayed him when Tawan's hand slid teasingly along his side, tracing the edge of his shirt.

Their laughter gave way to silence, replaced by the sound of their mingled breathing, the heat of bodies pressed close. Fah kissed him again, desperate this time, pouring everything into it—his fear, his desire, his relief at finally letting go. Tawan responded with equal fervor, gripping him tighter, pulling him against his chest until there was no space left between them.

And then—

Knock. Knock.

They froze. Fah pulled back instantly, breath ragged. "Someone's at the door," he whispered, panic sparking in his chest.

Tawan, maddeningly calm, smirked and pressed one more slow kiss to Fah's lips. "Let them wait."

The knock came again, louder this time. "Fah? You in there?" a voice called. It was one of his engineering classmates.

Fah scrambled off the bed, straightening his shirt and running a hand through his hair. His face was hot, his lips swollen—he looked guilty.

Tawan leaned back against the pillows, utterly unbothered, watching Fah with an infuriatingly satisfied smirk.

"You look suspicious already," Tawan teased in a whisper.

Fah shot him a glare before hissing, "Quiet!" and hurrying to the door.

When he cracked it open, his classmate stood there holding a notebook. "You left this in the lab," they said, eyeing him curiously. "Sorry if I disturbed you."

Fah mumbled thanks, shutting the door quickly. He turned to find Tawan still lounging on the bed, biting back laughter.

"You're going to get me killed," Fah muttered, tossing the notebook onto the desk.

Tawan sat up, his expression softening as he tugged Fah back toward the bed. "Or," he whispered, brushing a kiss to Fah's jaw, "I'm going to make your life a lot more interesting."

Despite himself, Fah smiled, leaning back into Tawan's arms. "You're impossible."

"Mm," Tawan hummed against his neck. "And you can't resist me."

Fah didn't even try to argue.
