Lynn's confident smile covered his face, and I felt a weird sense of satisfaction to make it go away with my words.
"I'm sorry, but I cannot participate in the hunter's championship for your team."
I spoke clearly, but I did not tell Lynn the reason behind this. I wanted to see if he would take my rejection well or not.
As I expected, Lynn was not used to rejection, and his face immediately fell at my words.
"What do you mean—? Maybe you did not understand, but I am asking you to be on my team. Don't you want to be famous? Or earn a lot of money? Now is your chance. And as the number #1 hunter, you won't be in any danger, even if you join my team."
Lynn tried to make me change my mind.
I had to admit that he did bring up a few good points. I had checked the money that was given out to the participants and the winning team, and it was a lot. It was roughly around 1 million dollars after taxes.
