Amethyst stepped back, her eyes popped out and lips agape.
What is this called?
'say yes, say yes.' Everybody oozed, all having hope and curiosity in their eyes. Except for a certain someone, hiding in the crowd.
That unlucky guy was faster than him.
Amethyst heart thuds, that she can hear the sound in her ears. Why… why would he say something as ridiculous as that, why would he? Her gaze move around, looking at everybody that keep chanting 'say yes.' Why must he say this kind of thing in public? Why?
'Please say yes.' He said, attracting her lost attention and at the same, hoping her answer would be pure but Amethyst sighed, her heart thorn for another had claimed it long ago.
'I'm sorry lucky, I care for you cause you are my dearest friend, but my heart belong to someone else.'
Lucky heaved. He had known, yet hoped it wouldn't be true that the love she had was never for him but someone else.
'I hope you find someone who love you whole, someone who truly captures your soul.' She said, eyes sad but her voice was clear.
'Please don't be angry, I hold you so dear, let's continue to be the normal friends we are.' She concluded then turn back to leave, dragging her feet as she walks.
'Was it because of Nathan who doesn't care about you?' his voice suddenly rang from behind which make her halt in her steps, not turning back to look at him.
'Open your eyes Amethyst, stop getting fooled by that man.' He proceeded, taking a step forward.
'You thought he loose his memory, why? Because of an accident, he did not remember you but did you really think that is the truth? Despite all rumors of you two dating, he still did not come to meet you to ask one or two things, did you think his love for you is real?' Even after forgetting your memory, you cannot forget the person you love and even if you did, your heart wouldn't. He would feel attached to you and if he surely cherish you, your face alone would remind him of the past, but he did not remember, are you going to continue to believe his lies and pretence? You are ready to give up your life for him, but do you think he feel that way too? He did not love you Amethyst, it's high time you stop submitting yourself to that fool.' He said, his voice and pained, as if he is the one being lied to. Amethyst only scoff and turn back to look at him.
'You did well in the chasing lucky, but sometimes, the hardest decisions are the ones that set us free. I believe you will find the person who truly align with your heart. You deserve someone who can give you the love you need, I know you would find that person. Keep moving forward and you would see the right path unfold. Let's end our friendship here. Goodbye.' And with that, she turn back and walk away, head straight and confidence high, pretending to hear nothing and not to be affected by what he just said but as soon as she walk into her room, she burst into tears.
Did she really need to continue waiting?
She is fed up and almost wants to believe his word but can her Nathan truly do that?
But why hadn't he remember?
Everybody is saying that they are in a relationship and he heard but he always ignore her whenever she show up in front of him. Could what lucky said be true?
'common Amethyst, Nathan wouldn't do that.' She encourage herself and grab her backpack before walking out of the room.
'After previous that day, Orests still came to bully her and all thanks to lucky who came earlier, she didn't go through much stress like the first time but she already made up her mind, her room is no more safe.
She walk out of the female building, the darkness already replacing the light as she walk along the street, the scene from earlier replaying in her mind.
Did lucky fall in love with her because she act nice toward him?
Is rejecting him like that okay?
He surely looked pained when she reject him but is that not the right thing to do?
Whereas, her Nathan is still alive and sound. He only forget his memories and he would soon regain it back, he is still the man she loves.
She open the door to the old classroom that was once Nathan's room then she walk in, locking it from behind. She walk further into the room and sat on the bed. Being in this place keep her rest assured that her Nathan would soon be back to her. He would soon regain his memories and come back to her, he would.
She lay on the bed, hoping she would fall asleep soon but the thought on her mind was way too much and she keep turning around on the bed, not knowing what to do but later, she slowly drifted into sleep, turning insensitive to things around her.
But then, the door to the place creaks and shut open slowly, yet silently and a figure walks in, looking around the entire place like a thief who is looking around for a diamond to steal. His gaze landed on Amethyst, the person he had came all the way from his room for.
He shut the door but it jammed and locked automatically, thereby making a loud sound that alerted Amethyst.
He walk further into the room, toward her while she quickly grab the knife she kept beside her pillow and stood up sharply, pointing the knife at him.
'Don't come near.' she said but as soon as she saw who it was, her hand lowered and her brain froze, her tongue unable to process a word.
He walk forward and embrace her while she only stood there stunned, only saying 'Y… You.'
'I miss you so much Amethyst.' He said while Amethyst couldn't help but feel that his voice is different.
'Nathan.' She called, her eyes brimming and heart beating rapidly. He retracted from the hug and look into her eyes that were now brimming with tears.
'Did you… did you… remember? … did you?' she stammered but he pulled her forward and kiss her lips, caging the rest of her word in her throat.
