Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: Fast Casting Stream

The moment Maiev gave the order, Gale flashed onto a supply cart. He held the eternal holy grail in his left hand and the Golden Holy Sword in his right, quickly casting Arcane Vision.

The surrounding Arcane Energy was rapidly mobilized, projecting images within a thousand-yard radius around the convoy into his mind.

The eternal holy grail glowed with magical radiance, and Arcane Baptism allowed Gale to systematically process the complex information from Arcane Vision, immediately identifying the enemies hidden in the forest.

Five hundred yards ahead, a small squad was ambushed by dozens of Trolls. The screams just now came from them; the squad had approached the Trolls' hiding spot, forcing the Trolls to strike first and ambush them.

Four of the ten-person squad were sacrificed, and the remaining six Kaldorei relied on trees for cover. They wielded Sanction Swords, preventing the Trolls from easily approaching.

This also created a chance for them to survive.

A lightning bolt descended from the sky, separating the squad and the Trolls. Then the air suddenly grew cold, and ice spears rained down, piercing through the Trolls' bodies. The Trolls suffered heavy losses and had to flee the spell's range.

Maiev breathed a sigh of relief when she saw the squad had survived. It was due to her decision that the squad had been in danger, and she felt a deep sense of guilt. Although war is unpredictable and people always die, Kaldorei value emotions, and Maiev could not yet be ruthless in command.

She looked gratefully at the spellcaster, only to see Gale's eyes glowing like electricity, with a powerful spell book floating before him. Guided by the spell book, spells rapidly shot out in all directions.

Everyone looked at Gale in astonishment. They had seen mages cast spells, but never before had they witnessed such incredibly fast spellcasting from Gale.

What confused everyone even more was that one second it was a Water Elementals Spell (Frost Spell), and the next it was a Wind Elementals Spell (Storm Spell). The two types of spells alternated, almost all cast instantly.

If Gale knew of everyone's confusion, he would surely tell them that this was the fast-casting style.

The Golden Holy Sword, the eternal holy grail, and the Elemental Spell Codex—all three epic-grade pieces of equipment—possessed the ability to increase casting speed. When used simultaneously, Gale's casting speed was at least twice as fast as other spells. With the eternal holy grail, Gale had no need to worry about mana. With the Elemental Spell Codex, Gale also didn't need to worry about power, as the Arcane Explosion characteristic compensated for any insufficient spell damage.

Wherever the spells reached, it was a hiding place for Trolls. The Trolls were stunned; they were the ones in ambush, right? How did they get attacked first?

"Ha—"

A Troll Witch Doctor raised his hand, scattering a large amount of Voodoo. Under his control, the Voodoo formed shields, protecting the surrounding Trolls.

"Attack!" A tall Troll Leader brandished a greatsword and rapidly charged towards the convoy.

Hundreds of Trolls followed him, throwing javelins and axes at the Kaldorei as they ran.

Gale casually cast spells at these Trolls, but they were all blocked by the Voodoo Shield.

"Engage the enemy!"

Maiev shouted loudly, and the Kaldorei immediately moved into combat positions. The Rangers attacked first, wielding Wind Power and continuously firing at the Trolls.

Salador attempted an attack and found that arrows also could not penetrate the Voodoo Shield, so he decisively changed direction to first deal with the other Trolls who did not have a Voodoo Shield.

The Suramar Guardians raised their shields, forming the first line of defense. Under their protection, the Priests began to pray to Elune.

Soon, Elune answered their pleas, and the sky gradually brightened as countless starlight descended from the sky, striking the surrounding Trolls. The Trolls tried to dodge, but these spells composed of starlight possessed tracking ability, striking them no matter how they dodged.

"Damn Dark Trolls, you have abandoned your faith in loa!"

The Troll Witch Doctor cursed in hatred, clearly sensing the aura of divine magic from the starlight.

Fortunately, the divine magic could not kill the Trolls instantly, and the Trolls endured the starlight's damage, charging near the convoy. But what awaited them were the battle-hardened Suramar Guardians. Captain Ravencrest handed over command to Garrosh, while he himself charged to the front lines.

His physique was slightly inferior to the Trolls, but with his powerful strength, he easily blocked the Trolls' long spears with his shield, and wielded the Sanction Blade, cutting the Troll in half. Ordinary Trolls were not his target; the Troll Leader, protected by the Voodoo Shield, was.

The Troll Leader evidently also noticed Captain Ravencrest, but before dealing with Captain Ravencrest, he had to first eliminate another threat.

Taking a long spear from his back, the Troll Leader quickly sprinted and violently hurled it at Gale. The spear, with a whistling sound, reached Gale's face in the blink of an eye.

Gale sneered, raising the eternal holy grail to meet it. The ether spirit opened a gap, and the accumulated Arcane Energy inside burst out like an unbridled wild horse, rapidly spraying through the opening. The spear and the Arcane Energy clashed, and the spear was instantly disintegrated into tiny wood chips by the Arcane Energy, scattering to the ground.

"Your opponent is me!"

Captain Ravencrest roared, quickly charging in front of the Troll Leader, and thrusting his Sanction Blade at the Voodoo Shield.

The Voodoo Shield rippled but was not pierced. The Troll Leader, annoyed that he hadn't killed Gale, immediately unleashed his rage on Captain Ravencrest. He swung his greatsword, striking violently.

Captain Ravencrest dared not directly confront him. The Troll Leader was much larger than ordinary Trolls, and the greatsword in his hand was no ordinary weapon. Superb strength combined with a sharp weapon was something his shield could not contend with.

He quickly dodged, but the Troll Leader's attacks were very fast. Failing to hit once, he immediately attacked fiercely, and Captain Ravencrest dodged left and right, completely unable to retaliate.

Captain Ravencrest understood the principle that prolonged defense inevitably leads to loss. However, facing the Troll Leader's storm-like assault, he was helpless.

Just then, a throwing knife shot over, piercing the Troll Leader's Voodoo Shield. The throwing knife then vanished; it was actually condensed from Shadow energy.

The Troll Leader paused, looking in the direction the throwing knife came from, and saw a Kaldorei female wearing an iron mask staring coldly at him.

That cool gaze sent a chill through the Troll Leader's heart, and then the Kaldorei female suddenly disappeared. The Troll Leader rolled on the ground, and when he looked up again, the Kaldorei female had appeared where he had just been standing.

"Kill her!"

The Troll Leader shrieked in terror, and the other Trolls immediately pounced on Maiev, trying to beat her to death.

Just then, bolts of lightning rained down, striking the Trolls. Under the tearing force of the lightning, the Voodoo Shields collapsed.

Maiev dramatically pulled her cloak, and countless golden-yellow throwing knives shot at the Trolls. The Trolls fled in terror, but sadly, they fell to the ground after only a few steps, going to meet Bwonsamdi.
