Facing the Shadow Hunter, who possessed astonishing combat skills, Gale didn't last long. Soon, he almost tripped and fell while dodging.
Seeing this good opportunity, the Shadow Hunter immediately infused a large amount of Shadow energy into his javelin, aiming for a single, fatal blow.
Unfortunately, Gale released the energy shield of Aggramar's Shield the moment he made a mistake. The javelin struck it without even causing a ripple.
If the Shadow Shield could be described as invulnerable for its super strong defensive capabilities, then the energy shield of Aggramar's Shield was truly invincible.
No matter how the Shadow Hunter attacked, he couldn't shake the energy of the Titan artifact.
Gale's Sanction Blade also consistently failed to penetrate the protection of the Shadow Shield, and the two individuals, both under invincibility skills, were locked in a stalemate.
The surrounding trolls were also bewildered; they knew the Shadow Hunter's power, and it was unexpected that a Kaldorei could be as strong as him. They wanted to help, but after Gale decapitated several trolls, no troll dared to step forward again.
While the Sanction Blade couldn't break through the Shadow Shield, cutting off their heads was still very easy.
The Troll Chieftain, seeing that he couldn't help, could only focus his energy on attacking the base, letting the two engage in an ineffective back-and-forth.
Metri had also been keeping an eye on Gale's situation, but as the troll offensive intensified, he could only devote his entire focus to summoning Fire Elementals. After using the Elemental Spell Codex, he realized how powerful this spellbook was.
He had never learned to summon Fire Elementals, but as long as he channeled mana into it, he could directly use the spell. With his current strength, he could only summon three to five Fire Elementals consecutively at best, but after using the spellbook, he could summon one Fire Elemental every minute without effort.
This spellbook was so easy to use, it was simply a Gospel for mages!
Everyone on the wall was diligently defending, mages casting spells, rangers using Wind Power to shoot. Only the warriors couldn't participate in the battle, but they remained vigilant at all times, preventing trolls from scaling the wall. Because there were no combat positions, they could only continuously patrol the wall, rushing to any crisis point immediately.
The Troll Chieftain watched, furious that the trolls were unable to climb the wall. He personally led his team to the battlefield, with two Witch Doctors behind him.
The Witch Doctors, observing the continuously summoned Fire Elementals, took out some totem poles and threw them onto the battlefield.
The totem poles stuck into the ground, and under the Witch Doctors' prayers, they glowed white. The white light grew brighter and brighter, then suddenly spread outwards.
The Fire Elementals were enveloped by the white light, their entire bodies unable to move. The next second, their bodies transformed into phantoms, then slowly vanished.
"What's going on?" Navoli asked, puzzled.
Metri sighed, "They were purified by the Witch Doctors' totems."
Witch Doctors, in addition to being skilled in Voodoo, were also adept at using totems. Unlike Orc shamans, Witch Doctors' totems were smaller and primarily used to assist in battle. They called these totems guardians; healing guardians, purification guardians, serpent guardians, and stasis traps were all frequently used by them.
Without the Fire Elementals to tie them down, the troll offensive became much smoother. Soon, trolls scaled the wall, but they were immediately driven back by the Kaldorei.
Metri wanted to summon more Fire Elementals, but his mana was simply insufficient to restore the Fire Elementals to their previous scale. Fortunately, it was getting late, and the Alpha Squad had rested enough; they just needed to hold on a little longer.
While he was thinking, Carlos led a small squad onto the wall. Not finding Gale among the crowd, he immediately grew anxious.
"How could you let Gale go out of the city alone?"
After speaking, Carlos turned and descended the wall, gathering the entire Alpha Squad.
Navoli quickly beckoned, calling the other four, and followed him down.
They also felt a bit regretful now; they were Mage Tower guards, and while mages were fighting below, they were still watching the commotion on the wall, which was simply dereliction of duty. Furthermore, Gale not only crafted equipment for them but also saved their lives multiple times.
The more they thought about it, the more remorseful they felt, and they rushed to Carlos, "Commander Carlos, please take us with you."
Carlos didn't speak, just nodded, "Go prepare, we'll depart immediately."
However, just as the Alpha Squad was assembling, several fishing boats docked at the base's pier. Another batch of troops was delivered, along with the Priest Corps led by Maiev.
After disembarking, Maiev immediately found Carlos, "What's the battle situation like now?"
Carlos said, "The trolls haven't breached the wall yet, but I'm planning to go out of the city to rescue Gale."
"Rescue Gale?" Maiev was startled, "Is Gale in danger?"
Carlos: "Not yet, but he went out of the city alone to fight a troll and is in a stalemate."
Hearing this, Maiev felt something was amiss. Gale had Aggramar's Shield, allowing him to attack without worry, so how could he be stalemated with an enemy?
She immediately teleported onto the city wall, looking towards where Gale and the Shadow Hunter were fighting. When she saw the Shadow Shield on the Shadow Hunter, she suddenly understood.
So Gale had encountered an enemy with an equally super-strong defensive shield; no wonder they were stalemated!
She put down her Moonblade, clasped her hands, and prayed to Elune. Soon, Elune responded to her, and a massive moon appeared above Gale and the Shadow Hunter. A vast Moon Power, like a laser cannon, shot at the Shadow Hunter, instantly shattering the Shadow Shield.
The Shadow Hunter was terrified, but under the immense Moon Power, his movements became difficult.
Gale was overjoyed and immediately rushed over, his Sanction Blade piercing into the Shadow Hunter's chest, through his heart.
The Shadow Hunter crashed to the ground, a necklace rolling on his neck. The pendant of the necklace was a huge black gem, emitting a strong Shadow energy.
Gale stepped forward and reached out to pull off the necklace. Looking at the Shadow Hunter again, the dense Shadow energy on his body had dissipated significantly.
He was so powerful precisely because of the Shadow Gem on the necklace.
The support from the Priest Corps not only rescued Gale but also saved the base. Maiev, with her battle priests, went out of the city with Carlos, catching the trolls off guard.
The death of the Shadow Hunter made the Troll Chieftain consider retreating, and the moment he gave the order, the trolls collapsed. The Alpha Squad immediately adjusted their strategy, changing from rescuing Gale to capturing prisoners.
A night of pursuit successfully captured over three hundred troll prisoners. Carlos tied them up and had the fishing boats take them back to the legion's rallying point for the Moon Fury Legion Commander to deal with.
