Chapter 3 - Awakening [2]

'Wait… Could it be that my presence in this world is already changing the plot…?!'

Raiven already knew that his presence in this world would definitely cause some butterfly effects, but he didn't expect Avin's Soul Ability to change.

The staff called out the next name, snapping Raiven out of his thoughts.

The murmurs and cheers from the students were slowly dying down and the Awakening Ceremony continued.

Though, Klein's expression had greatly improved. The fact that someone in this academy had already awakened a Disaster Rank Ability was satisfying.

But still...

"I need more..." Klein muttered to himself.

More and more individuals placed their hands on the Awakening Orb but apart from Avin who awakened a Disaster Rank Ability and two other individuals who awakened Calamity Rank abilities, nobody was yet to awaken anything out of the ordinary.

"Muriel Draka!" The staff called out.

As soon as everyone heard that name, they instantly became quiet, their eyes searching for the person whose name was just called.

Raiven squinted his eyes.

'Muriel Draka... In the novel, he was Avin's rival. Apart from that, he didn't really play an important role. He had quite a lot of scenes but that was all.'

Raiven folded his arms, his mind already wandering.

'The most important thing about him is his surname... Draka. The Draka family is one of the five strongest families in the entire Alpha Continent, and that's because of the unique Ability every member of their family has.'

The hall remained silent, and all the students in the hall had one thing in common...

They were all looking at a particular spot.

The entrance door.

There, standing in front of the door, was a boy. His long white hair cascaded down, reaching his mid back. His dark eyes had a playful glint to them, and a small smile was etched on his lips.

"He's handsome... Too handsome..." A girl muttered, and because of the silence, it was quite audible.

But everyone knew it was true.

His handsomeness even made some boys question their sexuality.

He took a step, and then, he began walking forward.

The crowd of students instantly formed two different lines, leaving a large space in the middle for him to pass.

As he walked past, he began looking left and right, flashing smiles at the students like he was some kind of popular celebrity who was invited to an event.

Finally, he reached the platform, and began speaking with Klein.

'That white hair,' Raiven thought. 'Apart from normal old folks, the Draka family are the only ones who have natural white hair.'

Under the envious gazes of the boys and the hypnotized gazes of the girls, Muriel walked towards the Awakening Orb.

He placed his hand on it, and a few seconds later...

WHOOSH!

Everyone looked away, blocking their eyes from the bright red light that was emitted from the orb.

The staff quickly spoke:

"Muriel Draka, Beast Summoning, Disaster Rank, Beast Path!"

Cheers erupted from the crowd, mostly from the girls as they looked at Draka like he was some sort of god.

'As expected,' Raiven thought, as he looked at Klein who was yapping some stuff to Muriel.

'Every member of the Draka Family has the ability to summon just one Dragon, and that Dragon will be the companion and protector of its Master.'

The Draka Family used this ability to rise to the top.

Muriel still had his usual expression.

He casually walked to the end of the platform like he didn't just awaken a Disaster Rank Ability.

Well, it was nothing to be surprised about.

He was a direct descendant of the Draka Family, and no direct Descendant had ever awakened their ability below the Disaster Rank in the history of the family.

The Awakening Ceremony continued as usual.

The staff was able to tell what Soul Ability a person awakened through the tab he was holding.

The tab contained a list of all the Soul Abilities in the world, and once a person touched the Awakening Orb, it would send a signal and if it is an already known Soul Ability, it would be identified through the tab.

But the Soul Abilities that couldn't be identified were tagged as unknown abilities.

"Yenna Langley!"

The sound of boots scraping against the floor could be heard as a girl walked towards the Awakening Orb.

Her long blue hair fluttered with every step she took as she swept her gaze across the crowd gathered in the hall with her purple eyes.

She had a small smirk on her insanely beautiful face.

A mischievous one.

Raiven recognized her.

'She's one of the main characters,' Raiven thought.

But she was quite a special and very important main character.

Yenna walked towards the orb and placed her hand on top of it.

And just as Raiven already knew...

A red glow enveloped the entire hall, and everyone already knew what this meant.

Klein's fingers trembled and his eyes widened like he had just seen a ghost, not out of fear, but out of shock and excitement.

'Three Disaster Rank Abilities...? I...'

Klein's mouth opened but he couldn't even say anything.

"Yenna Langley, Unknown Ability, Disaster Rank, Mystic Path!"

Everyone began discussing among themselves as Yenna walked to the end of the platform.

Avin's eyes followed her as he folded his arms.

'There's something off about her...' he said in his mind.

And indeed, there were many things off about her.

But Raiven was the only one who knew for now.

'She's not even surprised that she awakened a Disaster Rank Ability,' Raiven thought, 'which isn't even weird, considering the fact that she had already secretly awakened her Soul Ability when she was nine years old...'

Raiven stared at her.

'She's an anomaly.'

After a few more students awakened, a name was called.

"Ava Flamesworth!"

At the mention of that name, heads turned.

Eyes searched.

Mouths moved.

And then, there she was.

Even Raiven's eyes widened a bit as soon as he saw her.

'Wow... Exactly how I imagined her...'

Ava Flamesworth... One of the main characters, and the direct descendant of the Flamesworth Family; one of the five strongest families along with the Draka family.

'Here we go...'
