Chapter 23 - CHAPTER 23: HARRISON’S CIRCLE OF FRIENDS

Of course, he had a type. He preferred them naturally and for those who went under the knife, he would leave them for others. Of course, there was one rule when it came to his playful nature. He would never force a woman to be with him. A bitter fruit wasn't what he wanted.

Ignoring the disgusting and obscene seduction gazes thrown at home by those slay queens, Harrison coldly took large strides into the club.

As a VIP member, he simply walked in without showing anything. It would be quite painful if he had to identify himself in such places.

Watching Harrison alongside a few others smoothly entering the club without being harassed by the bouncers. Those in the queue could only grumble and vowed to be rich one day.

Nonetheless, their thoughts didn't affect him any bit. He smoothly maneuvered his way until he spotted his friends who weren't in the private room but sat at a table in the open space where they could see others.

Unlike those who preferred the comfort of closed spaces. At times when they were distressing, his group preferred open spaces. They get to see a lot of beautiful women and pretty boys. How could they see them when they were trapped in a room?

"Harry! Over here!" one of his friends enthusiastically called with a wave of a hand and Harrison smiled back as he waved in recognition.

Harrison quickly found his friends and threw himself on the couch, across from the friend who just called him.

"Dude, did you order for me?" he grumblingly asked as he glared at the other.

The friend rolled his eyes in disdain upon hearing that but still responded, "if I didn't. Who would order you?" and the group of friends burst into laughter upon hearing that.

Seeing his three friends, Harrison couldn't help but feel like punching them one by one. But when he thought that if it wasn't for him, they wouldn't be here but instead busy with their work. He held himself back.

"Fine. You really know how to irk others!"

"Hehe, are you not the one starting this?" the friend retorted and Harrison became speechless making the rest of the gang to laugh heartily.

After a moment of teasing each other, Harrison finally had his first drink. He gulped down a glass of single malt whisky and felt the scorching heat inside his body. That only brought him alive and set the foundation of what was coming.

Harrison's friends were guys he had known since university days. He didn't study abroad but locally. He met them there. They weren't children of these wealthy families like him but all of them were rich men who personally built their empires from scratch.

While he dabbled in the entertainment industry, the friend who was teasing him earlier, Nic, was an IT guy who owned a famous gaming company that went viral because of its realistic games. He made millions in just a few months and ever since then, he had never crumbled.

His other friend, Willy, ran a security company. In their sophomore year, Willy somehow got enlisted in the army where he spent several years serving the country. When he retired from the army, he started a security company which was currently making waves in the city. It was one of the top contenders not just in the city but country as well.

The last friend was unique. Until now Harrison still doesn't understand why he had to waste his talent to study finance when he could have just gone to a culinary school.

Paul is a renowned chef who owned five luxurious restaurants throughout the country with two of them in their current city. One can't go to his restaurants without booking weeks in advance. It was that popular and George was a great cook. Something that all of them approved and recognized.

And the four of them had been close ever since they were eighteen years old. Nothing so far had shaken their bond, and he was hoping that nothing would ever do.

"So, what made you want to drink tonight? Do you know how busy everyone is?" Nic ruthlessly asked, wondering why Harrison had to react that way.

Willy chuckled, a teasing smile forming on his lips as he asked playfully, "Could it be that the girl you were targeting is getting married?"

"Haha, that would be ridiculous!" Paul laughed heartily when he heard that.

He couldn't help but be reminded of the past.

Harrison glared at his friends as he took another sip of the whisky, mustering all the energy to scold these friends of his.

However, before he could open his mouth, the place was suddenly filled with a loud exclaim which made him stop in his tracks as he eagerly looked in the direction where the noise was coming from, mostly.

Upon looking in that certain direction, his eyes couldn't help but lit up upon seeing a beautiful lady in white. She was not just beautiful but looked very cold. Looking at her, he was reminded of his aunt and he shivered recalling how ruthless that woman was.

"Oh! She is here tonight!"

As he was having goosebumps, he heard Paul stating that calmly, and his curiosity was piqued.

"Do you know her?" Harrison asked curiously.

After all, he didn't know the lady at all but judging from the people's reactions. It didn't seem like she was a nobody.

He had never seen her among the celebrities that he knew. So, who was she?

Paul shook his head as he looked at Harrison wondering which rock he was living under.

Even the other two were amazed at his ignorance. They couldn't help but chide him.

"Don't you know the famous CEO Sawyers?"

"As someone with staff always entering the trending search. Don't you even recognize her?"

Harrison was clueless as he listened to all that. How was he supposed to know her when most of that publicity work was done by others?

He might like fooling around but he didn't know every single woman in this world. Moreover, the moment the CEO was thrown. There were so many industries out there and companies. It wasn't easy to bump into another easily like that.

Seeing their friend still clueless, Paul could only pull out his phone and with a few touches on the phone passed the phone over to Harrison.

Harrison shamelessly accepted the phone and his jaws dropped to the ground.

On the screen, the woman in white he had just seen was wearing a bloody red suit, sitting on a chair and in an office setting. It was probably a phot taken during an interview and she looked very good.

"That woman is named Sonia Sawyers, and she is in the food and beverage industry. She is currently the number one, and it only took her a decade to get where she is. Unlike me with a measly five restaurants, she owned a lot of them. She is not just into restaurants but has several brands in her name and we happen to enjoy a lot of them," Paul admiringly shared the information and the other two friends nodded, agreeing to that.
