James simply couldn't believe it.
'How was it even possible that she could run away so fast without tripping?' he wondered.
'How did she cross the road without getting run over by traffic?' he tried to understand.
'How did that clumsy girl manage to get up there?' he was completely lost.
After Misha ran out, the Emperor just about caught a glimpse of her as the elevator door closed. He took another one nearby, and when he reached the ground floor, he saw the girl run out of the front door. Once he followed her out, he saw her turn the corner at the end of the street.
It was then that he lost the unexpectedly fast runner.
The road where Misha turned to led to a park, and that was pretty much the only place she could have ran off to. So James followed. The park wasn't that big, and she was probably sitting on a bench somewhere, sulking. Just like the last time at the rooftop, he thought.
