Chapter 10 - Hulk

"Recently, the Military laboratory suffered a Terrorist attack, and all experimental results were destroyed.

According to an insider, the laboratory was attacked by a giant green humanoid creature. The Military suspects that this attack was a biochemical experimental subject deployed by Terrorists.

According to statistics, the economic loss caused by this attack is 300 million. The Terrorist organization Freedom Fighters claimed responsibility for this incident."

News about the Military laboratory was being broadcast on the gym's monitor.

A Terrorist organization claimed responsibility for this incident?

Andy, who was gradually adapting to the gravity and repulsion devices, couldn't help but laugh when he heard this news.

The giant green humanoid creature immediately reminded Andy of the Super Soldier, Hulk, who left the deepest impression on him in his previous life.

The enormous size, the striking green skin, the powerful strength, and those magical, indestructible shorts.

He remembered that when he watched Hulk in his previous life, what everyone most enthusiastically discussed was where Hulk bought his big shorts.

This was clearly Hulk, transformed from Bruce Banner, the World's best gamma ray Dr., yet those Terrorists actually claimed they did it.

A group of guys who only knew how to launch Terrorist attacks actually brazenly claimed responsibility. A Terrorist organization that didn't even have a laboratory dared to claim they deployed biochemical experimental subjects in America.

This was truly a colossal joke.

… … …

Inside a wooden cabin in the forest, Bruce Banner was examining his blood through a microscope.

That day,

He was conducting gamma ray experiments on biological cells in the laboratory, and everything was going smoothly.

But for some unknown reason, the gamma ray instrument malfunctioned and couldn't be shut down. To protect his colleagues, he shielded them with his body.

The high-intensity gamma rays emitted at full power by the instrument penetrated his body, and his body seemed to undergo an incredible change.

Past hidden injuries from experiments were all gone now.

Most importantly, his muscles and recovery ability had greatly improved.

But ever since he met that strange man who claimed to be his father in the hospital, Bruce Banner started having nightmares night after night.

His temper also became worse and worse. Every time he wanted to lose his temper, he couldn't help but want to smash something.

Until that day,

He saw his father's experimental data on the laboratory computer.

Various animals were constantly killed by his father's experiments, and even his mother was his father's experimental tool.

His crazy father was using everything around him for genetic experiments. He saw the last words his father left behind.

"Bruce is my painstaking effort, my greatest masterpiece."

Bruce Banner completely broke down, and after that, his body seemed to mutate.

He turned into a green giant, and unable to control his rage, he smashed everything in the laboratory to pieces.

Behind a door, he saw that strange man again, who said to him,

"You are my son! You are my painstaking effort, my greatest masterpiece."

The strange man's words drove him completely insane. After a rampage in the laboratory, he smashed through the laboratory roof and escaped.

Afterward, he came to this place. The primitive and silent forest calmed him down.

Fearing he couldn't control the monster inside him, he could only secretly study his body here.

These days, he discovered that his blood carried severe gamma radiation, which could easily cause radiation contamination.

Under the microscope, his blood cells would occasionally transform into green giant blood cells.

Moreover, these mutated blood cells seemed to have immense power. When Bruce Banner observed them through the microscope, every slide was shattered by the mutated blood cells.

The more he researched, the more agitated Bruce Banner became. He was helpless regarding the problems with his own body.

In desperation, he could only try to calm the anger in his heart and let himself quiet down.

… … …

Military Laboratory

"Betty, where has Bruce been recently? I haven't seen him."

General Ross asked, pulling the distracted Betty.

Too many problems had occurred recently. First, Bruce was directly hit by gamma rays and hospitalized, and then the green monster destroyed the laboratory.

Now, the leading Dr. of the laboratory, Bruce Banner, had also disappeared. General Ross felt that the entire World was against him.

If this continued, when would they be able to develop the Super Soldier Serum?

Betty was equally anxious; Bruce had been missing for over ten days.

"Dad, I don't know where Bruce went either. He's been missing for many days, and I've already reported it to the police.

Do you think that monster captured Bruce?

You know, Bruce often stays overnight at the laboratory. After the laboratory was attacked that day, Bruce disappeared.

Why don't you send soldiers to search other places?"

During their conversation, Bruce Banner walked in.

"Hey! Betty, I'm back. General Ross, I'm sorry to have worried you."

Bruce Banner hugged Betty, comforting her.

Betty looked at the pale, clearly malnourished Bruce Banner, gently caressing his face with her hands.

"Where did you go? Why didn't you contact me? I thought you were captured by the monster."

Betty said, her eyes welling with tears, her voice choked with sobs.

"Bruce, tell me, where did you go?"

"General Ross, that day when the monster destroyed the laboratory, I was knocked unconscious. When I woke up, I was in a forest.

I didn't have much money, so I couldn't take a car or plane. I could only hitchhike back."

Bruce Banner looked apologetic.

He couldn't tell everyone that the green monster was actually himself.

He had to go back and find that strange man who claimed to be his father. If the strange man really was his father, then he must have a solution.

He didn't want to become a monster. As long as he found a solution, he could eliminate that monster and become a normal person again.

After hearing Bruce Banner's explanation, General Ross's attention was caught.

Bruce's disappearance was actually because he was abducted by that monster. He didn't doubt Bruce Banner's words.

As his future son-in-law, he believed he understood Bruce well. In his office, he had all of Bruce Banner's information from birth to the present.

The data showed that Bruce Banner had been an excellent child with good character and academic performance since childhood, even earning seven Dr. degrees during his studies.

Bruce was a confident person; he disdained deceiving others with lies and preferred to prove himself with facts.

Since Bruce Banner said he was abducted by that monster, then it must be true.

As for the reason for his abduction, perhaps the monster considered him a companion. General Ross stated that once the monster was caught, all these questions would be answered.

Because Bruce Banner had just returned, General Ross generously gave him a leave, letting Betty take him to get some nutrition.

Just over ten days had made him malnourished, and General Ross looked a bit angry.

Which of the soldiers in his troops couldn't fight and endure even after going hungry for a few days? Scientists' bodies still needed more training.

After bidding farewell to General Ross,

Betty took Bruce Banner to a restaurant. Watching Bruce gobble down his food opposite her, Betty couldn't help but feel distressed.

These past ten-plus days must have been really hard on Bruce. That green monster who abducted him truly deserved to die.

"Mmm, Betty, I want another serving."

Bruce Banner was indeed starving. The day after he got his emotions under control, he hitched a ride to New York.

For two whole days, he didn't eat anything on the road, and in the forest, he only found some familiar berries to get by.

Now, after finishing a large steak, he still craved more and wanted another serving.

Hearing this, Betty pushed her untouched steak in front of him.

"Eat mine; I haven't touched it yet."

"Thank you, Betty."

Bruce Banner said his thanks, picked up his knife and fork, and started eating again.

"Slow down. If it's not enough, you can order more."

Watching Bruce Banner eat the steak with sauce on his face, Betty picked up a tissue and wiped his face.
