Chapter 12 - Iron Phoenix

The familiar Guard reappeared in the virtual projection.

This time, he held an Empty Blade with a silver blade and a black edge, and began to explain.

Through the Guard's explanation, Andy learned that every Guard and Tenno was a true weapon master and combat master.

They mastered the use of various weapons.

Whether in close combat or weapon duels, they possessed the most top-tier combat techniques.

The Orokin Empire even developed a batch of special Amplification Crystals, weapon stances specifically for combat, based on their fighting styles.

Each of these special Amplification Crystals corresponded to a different combat move.

To use these weapon stances, one must first learn their combat moves.

The Guard in the virtual projection demonstrated with the Empty Blade in his hand.

Among the various weapons mastered by Guards and Tenno, the sword was the first weapon they encountered, and the Empty Blade was the first they mastered.

The simple blade of the Empty Blade became incredibly powerful in their hands; for Guards and Tenno, the Empty Blade represented their combat foundation and cultural pillar.

So, Andy, without surprise, chose the Empty Blade, and chose the sword stance Steel Phoenix that the Empty Blade could use.

In the video, the Guard wielded the Empty Blade in his hand, meticulously demonstrating the sword stance Steel Phoenix.

Rapid cutting attacks like the piercing thrust of Woodpecker, continuous rapid slashes of Double Slash, and the Explosive Shockwave that uses slashes for displacement and can unleash a powerful shockwave, all appeared in the Guard's hands one by one.

There were even special moves like the charged heavy attack Peerless Slash, the Spiral Slash that attacks all directions while sliding, the Graceful move that allows changing position during aerial slides and wall dashes, and the Death Mark specifically used for assassination; these special moves were also demonstrated by the Guard.

The perfect combination of combat moves and footwork added a touch of Elegant to the Guard in the demonstration.

Formal learning of Steel Phoenix

Step 1: Basic Sword Forms

To skillfully master various weapons, one must first learn the basic use of weapons. Point, thrust, hang, and chop are the most basic techniques for sword-type weapons.

Following the Guard step by step, the basic sword forms were roughly learned.

Step 2: Weapon Defense

As the saying goes, only those who are alive are qualified to output damage.

Therefore, in a rapidly changing battle, one must use the weapon in hand to protect oneself.

In the video, the Guard wielded the Empty Blade, creating an impenetrable sword net in front of him, blocking all incoming missiles.

Some missiles were even counter-attacked by the Guard the moment they touched the Empty Blade, and the returning missiles disabled the missile launcher.

This operation was extremely difficult; those missiles, whose speed was no less than normal firearm bullets, were simply indistinguishable to ordinary people.

The Guard could not only block all the incoming missiles but also counter-attack them back, hitting the opponent's vital points.

This scene reminded him of Deadpool he had seen in his previous life; Deadpool was also a sword master, and he could cut through crowds of enemies with just his twin blades against their automatic rifles.

His blades were not stained with a trace of blood; simply deflecting bullets back was enough to kill enemies.

Andy picked up an unsharpened training blade and began practicing against several missile launchers.

After practicing for a long time,

Andy finally gave up. Although he could avoid missile attacks, it didn't mean he could hit a bean-sized missile with the sword in his hand.

He hadn't yet achieved the precision to hit a five-millimeter diameter missile, rapidly flying in the air, with a two-millimeter thick steel plate.

Step 3: Stance Practice

This time, the Guard did not demonstrate with swift movements as before, but rather broke down each move one by one, explaining every key point of each action clearly.

The slashes of Woodpecker were like wings fluttering up and down, and repeated powerful thrusts could penetrate steel plates.

Double Slash could quickly connect the next slash after each strike; once started, the enemy would face a continuous barrage of attacks.

Explosive Slash possessed special force exertion techniques; it could concentrate all its kinetic energy, and while performing a leaping slash, immense kinetic energy would gather at the sword tip, erupting into a powerful impact shockwave to knock back the opponent.

Then the Guard began to explain special moves.

The activation of Peerless Slash required the aid of energy; whether charging or performing a heavy attack, Peerless Slash needed to consume energy, which also made its destructive power much greater than ordinary slashes.

Because it contained energy, a charged Peerless Slash could easily cut through a one-centimeter thick steel plate, and under a heavy attack, the energy flowing through the weapon would explode outwards, causing widespread destruction.

Although Spiral Slash did not require energy assistance, it could only be used while sliding close to the ground; it rotated the entire body under low gravity while sliding, and the weapon would draw an arc, hitting all surrounding enemies.

Because it was specifically designed for assassination, Death Mark attacked the opponent's fatal weaknesses, with every attack aiming for a single fatal blow.

This also led to Death Mark generally not being used, as any life's fatal weaknesses would be protected by the most rigorous defenses, and failing to achieve a one-hit kill could easily lead to one's own demise.

As for Graceful, it was merely a special movement technique that used the weapon to change one's position in the air.

When wielding a weapon, one could channel all of one's strength into the weapon, using the weapon's explosive power to forcefully change one's position.

Through the Guard's detailed explanation, Andy understood the effects of each move and was filled with enthusiasm for practicing the stance.

During the practice of Steel Phoenix, Andy gradually became curious about the Orokin Empire's reason for creating stance crystals.

In warframe, stance crystals allowed warframes to use different moves, but in reality, all these moves could be practiced, so why would the Orokin Empire create stance crystals?

With this question, Andy continued to watch the Guard's video.

Step 4: Stance Crystal

The Guard in the virtual image held two identical Empty Blades, one of which was fused with the Steel Phoenix stance crystal.

In the Guard's demonstration, Andy found that under the same moves, the Empty Blade fused with Steel Phoenix had greater destructive power than the unfused one.

Moreover, after fusing with Steel Phoenix, that Empty Blade would temporarily retain a portion of its power after each attack, and this power continuously amplified the weapon.

Initially, it could only cut through one layer of steel armor, but as the number of hits increased, the Empty Blade's destructive power grew.

Finally, the Guard wielded the Empty Blade, easily piercing through dozens of layers of steel armor, and Steel Phoenix's amplification of the Empty Blade reached its peak.

After Audis's detection, Steel Phoenix increased the Empty Blade's destructive power by a full twelve times.

After the Guard stopped for a few minutes, Steel Phoenix's amplification of the Empty Blade completely dissipated.

The Guard began to explain:

The function of stance crystals is to amplify weapons, unlike other Amplification Crystals that simply strengthen them.

After fusing with a weapon, a stance crystal will generate a layer of high-frequency oscillating energy film on the weapon's surface to protect and strengthen it.

It can not only enable the weapon to easily cut steel plates but also store part of the power from attacks and use it to amplify the weapon.

And only the most standard stance moves can perfectly unleash the full effect of the stance crystal.

If the moves are not up to standard, then the amplification effect of the stance crystal will not be fully realized.

The virtual projection did not finish playing as before; the Guard in the video bowed to the camera after the stance recording ended.

This caught Andy's attention.

The Guard then loudly said, "The Guard clan is the guardian of the Orokin Empire, and what we uphold is our homeland.

Everyone must practice diligently, master the Martial Form Secret Rite as soon as possible, and I hope to see your figures among the Guards.

Remember my name, I will be your future instructor, please call me Umbra, the Shadow of the Orokin Empire."

Andy was greatly shaken by the Guard's words; he was Umbra?

The legendary Guard Umbra, who was made into a living warframe by Orokin Executor Ballas?

Thinking of this, Andy finally understood why he was so powerful, because he was the most top-tier Guard of the Orokin Empire.
