Tony Stark had always known that Chen Xi was anything but ordinary — his ability wasn't simple, and neither was his background.
If Chen Xi said he could afford something, then he could definitely afford it.
Tony's gaze lingered on Chen Xi, sweeping up and down, studying him.
But what could he really see from the surface alone?
He had only been observing for a short while when, the moment Chen Xi's eyes nearly met his, he hurriedly withdrew his own gaze, flustered.

Watching Tony Stark lead the way ahead, back stiff and movements stiff as well, Chen Xi couldn't help but find it amusing.
Tony's sneaky glances weren't exactly subtle — Chen Xi had noticed every single one.
"Tony, earlier you mentioned there were mutants working with you on your research. Can I meet them?"
"Of course."
The moment Chen Xi spoke, Tony Stark agreed almost instantly, his tone even rising in excitement.
Originally, Tony had planned to take Chen Xi to the weapons lab, but he changed direction midway and instead led him to the mutant research section.
Chen Xi's timing was impeccable.
Standing before the floor-to-ceiling bulletproof glass, he saw a group of researchers in white lab coats rapidly jotting down data.
Inside, a woman in black leather with flowing white hair — Storm — was releasing a controlled burst of energy.
Chen Xi's expression showed faint surprise when he saw her.
He watched for a moment, then turned his gaze to another man nearby — just as that man's eyes fired twin beams of red energy.
Noticing Chen Xi's focused stare, Tony couldn't quite guess what he was thinking, so he spoke up first:
"These two are the most powerful mutants among all the volunteers. They've been assisting our experiments for about a week now. Stark Industries is extremely grateful for their cooperation."
"And so is Pym Enterprises."
As Tony and Chen Xi talked, a man stepped out of the room — Dr. Hank Pym.
It was he who had taken the initiative to facilitate this collaboration with Stark Industries.
When he saw Chen Xi, his eyes lit up noticeably.
Chen Xi's face was now practically known to every household; few people didn't recognize him.
Pym couldn't help but speculate.
"Tony, is Mr. Chen Xi here to assist us with the experiments?" he asked, trying to contain his excitement.
Tony nearly rolled his eyes. This temporary partner of his really dared to dream — he was already thrilled just to see Chen Xi show up, and now he wanted Chen Xi to participate in their tests?
Though he found Hank Pym's reaction exaggerated, Tony couldn't deny that he too looked at Chen Xi with a hopeful gleam.
Chen Xi smiled faintly. Being recognized for his strength was always pleasant — but...
"If you'd like Stark Tower to be reduced to rubble, I could lend a hand."
Chen Xi's power was overwhelming; even the smallest leak of his controlled energy could easily destroy everything within several hundred miles.
That wasn't boasting — it was fact.
Tony, recalling Chen Xi's battle with Apocalypse, suddenly felt they might have made a huge mistake inviting him here.
Quickly changing the subject, Tony said, "Mr. Chen Xi, would you like to see some other projects next?"
Chen Xi nodded. After saying goodbye to Dr. Pym, he followed Tony to see the weapons and chemical agents under development.
Tony Stark truly lived up to the word "genius." He was brilliant — and bold.
"You're really impressive," Chen Xi remarked after carefully examining every weapon and vial.
Tony hadn't expected his idol to praise him so directly. Scratching his head in embarrassment, he chuckled. "I think I'm impressive too, but compared to you, Mr. Chen Xi, I'm nothing."
There's always someone higher, always someone stronger.
Tony had always seen himself as one of the best — but Chen Xi was something beyond even that.
Chen Xi caught the undertone in Tony's words, shrugged, and said nothing more.
After inspecting everything and confirming there were no issues, Chen Xi swiftly signed a deal for 2 billion dollars' worth of weapons and serums.
"I might need them very soon," he said. "I hope you can speed up the production."
He didn't bother explaining what they were for — nor did he need to.
"Don't worry, Mr. Chen Xi. I'll make sure my team completes them as fast as possible!"
Tony was in high spirits. With a satisfied grin, he flicked the freshly signed contract in his hand and whistled softly at the figure — two billion.
It wasn't a life-changing sum for him, but this was a deal with his idol — and the contract carried Chen Xi's personal signature.
Tony couldn't be happier.
Chen Xi's purpose in coming today had been this very matter. Once it was settled, he said his goodbyes to Tony and left.
When Chen Xi returned home and opened the door, he was greeted by an odd scene: Wanda stood nervously clutching a book upside down, Jean Grey was pretending to clean, and Gwen Stacy — the Spider-Woman — beamed and ran over to him.
"Darling, you're back!"
"What's going on with Wanda and Jean?"
Something was definitely off. He hadn't been gone long — before leaving, the two had been perfectly normal. Why were they suddenly acting so strangely?
"Jean and Wanda were just talking about asking you out on a date," Gwen said cheerfully, not hiding anything for them.
Still smiling, she slipped her arm around Chen Xi's. "After the big battle, we've all been cooped up at home. It's about time we went out — and all our clothes are still old-fashioned, you know."
Chen Xi's eyes swept over the three women.
They clearly had been stuck indoors for too long.
Without hesitation, he said, "All right, let's go out now."
Jean Grey's face lit up. She immediately put down her cleaning tools and padded over in her slippers, a soft tap-tap-tap echoing on the floor.
Her joy, however, was tinged with a trace of guilt.
"You just got back… are you sure you're not too tired to go out with us?"
For a moment, she felt their request for a date was a little too much — at least, not the best timing.
