Chapter 100 - Drafting the Cooperation Agreement with Asgard

Thor's expression suggested he had something to say. Chen Xi, however, merely glanced at him, choosing not to speak first and waiting for Thor to take the initiative.

Noticing Chen Xi's attitude, Thor slowly said, "We've been here a long time, and we've come to realize that Mr. Chen is a very capable leader. We were misled by that voice, and I have no intention of being your enemy, so…"

"So you wish to cooperate with me?" Chen Xi asked.

"Yes."

Truthfully, Chen Xi thought more in terms of utilizing them than merely cooperating. But as allies, the more resources at one's disposal, the better. Alliances could become a sharp weapon—just a matter of whether the use was overt or covert.

"Of course."

Chen Xi nodded without hesitation. Yet Thor still looked concerned, seemingly dissatisfied with a mere verbal agreement.

"In that case, should we draft a formal cooperation agreement?" Chen Xi suggested proactively.

Finally, Thor nodded in agreement.

"I will have a mutually beneficial cooperation agreement drafted immediately. I hope our future interactions will be pleasant," Chen Xi said, giving Thor a slight smile.

"Much obliged," Thor replied, bowing once more to Chen Xi before disappearing. This was all as Chen Xi had anticipated.

After Thor left, Chen Xi lowered his gaze and returned to the book in his hands.

Not long after, Wanda emerged from the room she had been staying in.

"Wanda, instruct Susan to draft a cooperation agreement—one regarding my collaboration with Asgard. Make it as fair as possible," Chen Xi ordered.

"Yes." Wanda nodded immediately.

Chen Xi's idea of fairness was true fairness. He had no interest in playing tricks on contracts—there was simply no need. Wanda understood Chen Xi well, and the other women around him did as well.

Wanda quickly made the call.

At that moment, Susan was hesitating over how to handle Valeria's situation. She was too nervous to approach Chen Xi directly.

Previously, when Franklin appeared unexpectedly, Chen Xi had been somewhat upset. She worried that Valeria's appearance might anger him even more.

Her fear wasn't so much about Chen Xi being angry as it was about being discarded because of it. Since she had attached herself to Chen Xi, Susan had never regretted her choice, even quietly rejoicing in her decision. But what if mentioning Valeria this time annoyed him and he dismissed her?

Susan had always known her position at Chen Xi's side was replaceable. He was surrounded by many outstanding women.

Biting her lip, she hesitated over this matter when suddenly the phone rang.

Susan jumped slightly but answered immediately, recognizing Wanda on the line. Wanda, having been by Chen Xi's side the longest, held a unique authority. Offending her was never advisable.

"Chen Xi asked me to draft a contract regarding a cooperation agreement with Asgard?" Wanda asked.

Upon hearing the purpose of the call, Susan immediately straightened up. She hurriedly assured Wanda, "Don't worry! I will handle this properly. By tomorrow morning at the latest, the draft will be ready and delivered—there won't be any problems."

After repeatedly giving assurances, Susan hung up.

She was exhilarated. Chen Xi hadn't come to see her in a while, and now, instead of him visiting, Wanda was coming directly with instructions. This was her chance to shine.

Yet as excitement faded, Susan's mood soured slightly. She worried about Valeria's situation.

How should Valeria be handled? Susan could personally arrange matters at Stark Industries, but she wasn't sure of Valeria's intentions or abilities. She didn't want to make a unilateral decision that could cause trouble. Valeria seemed young and inexperienced, and it was unclear if she could handle the responsibilities at Stark Industries.

Clearly… she had to ask Chen Xi about this. But first, she needed to finish the work he had already assigned.

Thinking this, Susan quickly returned to her desk, picking up paper and pen to write.

She worked intensely, brows furrowed at times, focused to the point of not noticing the knocks on the door. Only when the knocking grew louder did she realize it was already 5:00 PM.

The draft still wasn't complete.

"Who could it be at this hour?" Susan wondered.

A possibility suddenly crossed her mind. Her breath quickened as she rushed to the door, tidying her clothes and hair.

When she opened it, she felt a mix of disappointment and surprise.

"It's you."

"Good afternoon, Miss Susan," Valeria greeted politely. "May I come in?"

Susan hesitated briefly, then stepped aside to let her in.

Glancing around the room, Valeria noticed the scattered papers and smiled slightly.

"Looks like you were busy working," she said.

Susan didn't bother with small talk. The girl before her was the source of much recent anxiety. "What brings you here?" she asked.

"Of course, I came to check if my work has been confirmed," Valeria said, her tone cautious and measured.
