Chapter 23 - Chapter 23 Infiltration

Compared with the other things in the box, the two gloves looked like defective products, with pits on the surface and the style was not good-looking. Emily didn't like them very much.

Luke explained, "Don't underestimate them. They are tailor-made for you. Try them on and you'll know."

Emily reluctantly put on the gloves and pressed the button on the palm of her hand as Luke instructed.

boom!

A ball of fire emerged from his right hand, and frost condensed from his left hand.

One ice, one fire!

Emily was stunned immediately.

Luke said solemnly, "Your ability is elemental manipulation. You can control water, ice, and fire, changing their density and size. You can also affect the propagation of light to a certain extent. In places with water and fire, your lethality is extremely strong and can cause massive damage. However, once the three elements are gone from the environment, the danger level is greatly reduced."

"These gloves are made with this in mind. Wearing them will keep you fighting strong no matter what the situation is."

Emily frowned, "How do you know so much about my abilities?"

Luke shrugged.

"God told me."

"lie!"

Emily rolled her eyes at him, her eyes fixed on her right hand. The flames condensed and turned into a burning fireball. She swung her hand casually, and the fireball flew out of the air and hit the right wall.

boom!

The scorching air waves spread out in all directions, leaving a scorch mark in the middle of the wall.

The girl opened her left hand, and frost condensed above her palm, turning into an ice spear that flashed with light blue light. After a flash of blue light, the ice spear was nailed to the wall, motionless.

One ice and one fire, they completely make up for the shortcomings in her abilities and are simply tailor-made for her.

"How is it? Are you satisfied?"

Emily suppressed her joy and raised her head in a reserved manner.

"So-so!"

"If you feel it's wrong, just give the gloves back to me."

"No need, just leave it like this!"

The girl put her hands behind her back and walked gracefully to the armor box. While watching Luke sorting his equipment, she asked casually,

"You designed all this equipment yourself."

"What do you think?"

Luke asked back, putting his chosen weapon into the slot of his belt.

"By the way, I have one more thing to remind you. The uniform you're wearing is made of special material. It's fireproof, waterproof, electrical, and poison-proof, but not bulletproof. Remember, you can't be hit directly by live ammunition."

"Got it. When are we leaving?"

"Now!"

The black Lamborghini rushed out of the underground garage like a beast and disappeared into the end of the night with roaring sounds.

Gotham City, Bay Area.

Gotham is as silent as ever under the night sky; even the sound of the tide in the distance cannot break the silence.

The black Lamborghini drove in the darkness, approaching the Ocean Park silently like a poisonous snake.

According to Ibn's confession, Adusan was in a building west of Ocean Park.

When they got closer, Luke turned off the lights, put on a mask and glasses, and got out of the car with Emily.

At this time, it was already one o'clock in the morning. The streets were quiet and there was no one on the street.

The two men walked along the grass by the roadside and came to No. 78 Ocean Park West, a four-story building that was a bit dilapidated, just as Iben had described.

Emily lowered her voice and said,

"It should be here. What should I do next?"

Luke took out a device from his backpack and placed it on the ground.

"What's this?"

"Signal jammer, shielding range 300 meters, lasting for one hour."

The girl exclaimed, "You are so well prepared."

Luke just smiled and said nothing.

Some people say: Life is precious, but love is more precious. If you want freedom, you can abandon both.

In Luke's opinion, this statement was pure bullshit. Only those who had truly died knew how wonderful life was. Once you had experienced the years of having your five senses closed and being imprisoned in a dark abyss, living like a puppet, you would never want to experience it a second time.

Luke cherishes his present life, so no matter what happens, he will do everything possible to make sure it goes well.

A dark gun barrel protruded from the grass.

With a thud, the guard at the door fell to the ground with his head tilted back.

Emily dragged the guard into the woods, and a frost flower emerged from her fingertips and imprinted on the guard's forehead.

The guard suddenly woke up with a chill that penetrated deep into his bones. When he felt the sharp blade at his neck, his face instantly turned ugly.

"I'm from the Razor Gang. How dare you mess with me? You're courting death!"

"Let me go quickly, otherwise..."

Phew!

The tip of the knife pierced the flesh, Luke twisted the dagger and smiled faintly.

"What else?"

The guard gritted his teeth and struggled to sit up, but the weakness in his limbs made him unable to do anything. He could only lie on the ground in despair and croaked,

"What...what are you going to do?"

"I ask, you answer. If you say even one wrong word, I'll stab you in the neck."

"Is Adusan in this building?"

The guard shook his head frantically, "No… not here."

"lie!"

A cold light flashed, blood overflowed and flowed down the neck. The guard's eyes widened, his pupils shrank into needles, and endless fear flashed in his eyes.

His throat was cut!

Luke played with the dagger and said calmly,

"I've already cut the blood vessels in your neck. If you don't get treatment, you'll go into shock from excessive blood loss in half an hour at most."

"It's a very painful way to die."

"I ask again, where is Adusan?"

The guard trembled and said, "It's... right inside the building."

"Which floor, which room?"

"Third floor, the most...easternmost bedroom."

Luke and Emily looked at each other. Iben was not lying. The latter then asked,

"Do you sell drugs?"

The guard turned his head away, his eyes flickering.

Luke raised his dagger. "Answer his question!"

"No...no, they did it all. I was just a doorman. I've never sold drugs. Please, save me. I don't want to die."

"Don't worry, you won't die."

Luke knocked the guard unconscious and bandaged him, then he and Emily climbed over the debris in the corner of the wall into the yard, observed the surroundings, and after making sure that there was no one, they quickly approached the main gate.

The front door was not locked. Pushing it open led to the living room. There was no guard and no alarm.

Luke turned on the life detector on his goggles, and five heat sources appeared, four of which were close together in the same room, and the other was farther away.

The two men acted separately. Luke pushed open the door and threw the white metal ball he had prepared in advance into the door through the gap.

Two seconds later, the metal ball cracked and a large amount of gas spread out in all directions, causing the sleeping person to sleep even more deeply.

On the other side, Emily also solved one.

The two men met up and walked up the central staircase to the second floor. At this moment, a low growl suddenly came from the corridor. An Argentine Dogo rushed up with a roar, but was kicked back by Luke who was quick-eyed and quick-handed.

Emily raised her pistol.

Puff!

Blood splattered and the hound lay motionless on the ground.

The accident broke the quiet atmosphere in the corridor. When a drug dealer opened the door and saw the Dogo Argentino lying on the ground, he was about to speak when the girl shot him in the head.

Luke gave her a rather surprised look.

Emily said expressionlessly, "On my first day in the Dissimilarities Division, the captain told me: When carrying out dangerous missions, the first thing to consider is protecting yourself, and the best way to protect yourself is to eliminate the enemy."
