Chapter 43 - Interception

A simple priest... Or so I thought

Chapter 43 - Interception

'I got you, bastard…' Terry thought as he saw Jonathan step into his attack range.

"Fascinating, you can still move." Jonathan's euphoric expression shifted back into one of indifference.

Immediately, he crouched, extended his hand downward, grabbed a metal bar he had moved with his telekinesis, and with a twist, smashed it against the back of Terry's knee.

With all his strength directed into that blow, Terry couldn't defend himself.

The impact spread, shattering his kneecap and the bones behind it!

Crack!

Boom!

"AHHHHHHH!"

Terry screamed in pain, and his face hit the ground, eating dirt with a heavy impact. Out of fear, he jerked and tried to get up, terrified that Jonathan would strike again.

But unfortunately for him, with that sudden movement, numerous bones throughout his body broke all at once. Terry's face twisted as he fell onto his back for the last time.

His strength faded as his bulging muscles slowly returned to their original form. Terry felt numbness throughout his body. He couldn't even move a finger or open his mouth. His body was drenched in blood, and he could barely breathe.

This result was extremely difficult for him to accept. He couldn't believe he had lost to a young hunter who had already been defeated by people weaker than him. But he had absolutely no energy left to speak.

Terry looked and saw Jonathan staring at him. Chills ran down his spine as he realized.

'He didn't suffer a scratch, he's completely unharmed… He didn't even struggle while now I'm at his mercy…' At that moment, Terry felt like crying.

'Fuck, I lost… I'll die… Help. I don't want to die yet.'

Meanwhile, Jonathan made no move toward him. In his peripheral vision, he sensed something passing by. He looked and frowned.

'I ordered those agents to stay out of the operation, what are they doing?'

After a moment, the bloodstained knife appeared in his hand, and he walked toward Terry, who was only clenching his teeth, trying not to scream.

Jonathan straightened his posture, his abilities slowly fading from his body, and his former calm personality returned to him.

His gaze turned to Wednesday, who was approaching, and then Jonathan asked: "Did you see this ending?"

"I didn't get that far, but he knows more than you think. You should torture him slowly," Wednesday said, staring at Terry lying in a pool of blood.

Enid then approached stealthily and quickly said: "I don't think that's necessary. People usually say what they think if you treat them with a bit of care."

Jonathan stared at Enid. She kept smiling and said: "Torture is better—ancient methods."

"Yes, that's what I said, tear off his legs," Wednesday said as she leaned toward Terry, who remained silent.

"I know this situation may be a little frightening for you, being a werewolf, that's why I'm asking you to help me keep watch of the surroundings. Your senses are better, so it would help me to know if someone's coming while I deal with this guy." Jonathan told Enid while pointing toward the path behind them.

"Of course." Enid answered with a sweet smile.

She sighed in relief before walking away from this bloody scene that made her very nervous. She thought that if she helped the hunter, the chances of him killing her would be lower.

This construction site was a strategic location. It offered a good vantage point, wide enough to spot incoming enemies while also covering the entire area. Before going to stand guard, Enid made sure no one was around.

That was when she took out her cell phone and started taking pictures.

If she made a few posts on her website, maybe she could profit from this unfortunate situation.

"I shouldn't have followed Wednesday…" Enid shivered at the mere thought of a hunter fighting a monster. She had thought that if a hunter ever came after her life, she might be able to escape. But now, after seeing with her own eyes what a hunter was capable of, she stopped believing in that possibility.

"Arghhh!"

At that moment, a heart-wrenching scream echoed behind her.

"This is madness…"
