Chapter 8 - I'm Busy

Suddenly, Lily's phone buzzed, and Lily took out her phone to take a look.

'Lily, it has been a while since we last hung out. Let's meet at the club tonight to celebrate your marriage to Mr Ji.'

Lily pressed her lips, and her eyes flashed. These were one of the cannon fodder friends.

Although the author hadn't explicitly mentioned them, Lily knew that they were just like the cannon fodder—they were all bad eggs of society.

It was the previous host who had dealings with them, but as for Lily, what she wanted was to steer clear of trouble in this world. It was enough that Lily had Zane Ji to deal with; Lily couldn't add more!

Lily was exactly what was called a good egg of society.

Not to mention that Lily was on the journey of cleaning this body's character.

What if Lily found someone she loved, but the bad character of the previous host caused her new crush to dump her? This, Lily couldn't let happen. Certainly not.

So Lily didn't want to have any dealings with all these bad eggs.

Without hesitation, Lily swiftly typed, "I'm busy." Not to mention that Lily already had a plan with Mr. Ji.

Definitely, Zane Ji would be brewing in anger by the time he returned from the country, and once he was greeted by Lily's shameless act, he'd throw her out in the middle of the night.

At that time, Lily could return home and continue to be a salted fish! Hehe.

'Lily, don't be like this. We have already prepared handsome men; I assure you that you'll like it this time.' The person quickly typed as if she was afraid that if she didn't type and send quickly, Lily would fail to see her message.

Upon seeing this, Lily's index finger tapped against her chin and her eyes crinkled, her lips curving in a devilish smirk.

Thinking about it, what was the best way to infuriate Mr. Ji? If not to attend a bar, get shamelessly drunk, and return to the mansion after 'mistakenly' sending Zane Ji a photo of Lily with a man.

Zane Ji would definitely think that Lily was shameless and kick her out.

Fine. Lily's attention had been grabbed. As a face-con, she could also review the faces of the men in this world properly.

Also, Lily could use this momentum to gauge the previous host's friends and see which of them were good ones.

Or, if they were all totally bad friends—thinking like this, Lily became more calm, and she threw her phone into her pocket.

Immediately, Lily made her way toward a private restaurant, and she ordered food.

After eating, Lily bought enough food and then looked for a close orphanage. There, Lily donated food and money.

In fact, Lily was an orphan who grew up in an orphanage.

Lily had strived hard to make herself successful in order to give orphans like her chances to grow up happily.

Lily's eyes clouded; she had willed her properties for a long time. If she died, all Lily's belongings and properties would be donated to the orphanages.

Lily hoped that the children and the matrons at the orphanage wouldn't miss her very much.

The matron held Lily's hand with joyful tears in her eyes. "Miss, we are really grateful."

Not a lot of people came to the orphanage, and most times when they did, they were there for publicity. Once it was over, they wouldn't recall their promises.

The matron beckoned at the children and said, "Children, hurry up and thank big sister."

Lily shook her head, signaling that there was no need for the children to thank her. It was something she needed to do.

Lily held the matron's hand and said, "I promise, I'll be here occasionally."

Lily took out her card and handed it over to the matron. "Here's my number; if you need anything, just call me. One last thing, I don't want this to be publicized. Let it just be between us." Lily explained.

Upon hearing this, the matron sighed while thinking how there could be someone in the world so natural and selfless. Lily was so different, unlike many of those socialites.

Suddenly, a beautiful girl clung to Lily's hand and stared at her with big eyes that made her melt. "Big sister, will you be here again?"

"Of course," Lily nodded her head and bent to the girl's level. She held her hand and rubbed her head fondly.

After playing with the children to her satisfaction, Lily finally left the orphanage.

At this time it was already early evening—past six, to be exact. And the previous host' friend had given Lily a time of 7:00.

So Lily immediately drove straight for the club. The orphanage road connected to the club, and if Lily decided to detour back home, it would only waste fuel.

Not to mention that once Lily stepped into the mansion, she would definitely be too lazy to leave.

Upon seeing such a beautiful woman alight from the car, countless eyes immediately fixated on Lily. Several people were interested in knowing who she was.

"Hey, stop, young girl. Are you 21 yet?" The security guard suddenly stopped Lily and uttered in a gruff voice, "Show me your ID."

Lily froze, completely stunned. Since when was she 21? She was 23, okay?

Still, Lily was a good egg and cooperated with the bodyguard; she didn't argue, nor did she act rude. She handed the guard her identity card.

Upon seeing the name on the ID card, the guard felt a trail of chill course down his spine, making him freeze.

The guard raised his head and took a look at Lily again. Lily Shen?

How come Lily had changed so much? He hadn't expected that the beautiful girl in front of him was that scary witch…

A trail of chills coursed down the guard's spine, making him shiver. Could it be that Lily had met him beforehand?

Could that be the reason why she hadn't bothered to argue with him? Was she going to inform the manager to sack him?
