Chapter 190 - 《DXD: Transfer Student》Chapter 189: She’s My Master, She’s My Woman

"DXD: Transfer Student"Chapter 189: She's My Master, She's My Woman

When it came to the Norse gods, Long Yi only knew one thing for sure: back when the three factions signed their peace treaty, the Norse suddenly launched a war against the Khaos Brigade.

Last time, Vali had betrayed Azazel, dragging the Old Satan faction into the mix and joining Khaos Brigade himself. That pretty much made the Brigade their outright enemy.

Normally, the enemy of your enemy is your friend. So with the Norse gods attacking Khaos Brigade, it seemed like an opportunity—maybe they'd team up to take the Brigade down.

That was the logical next step after the peace treaty: negotiate with the Norse, figure out how to handle the Khaos Brigade problem together.

But then Loki started stirring the pot, and suddenly nobody could read the situation anymore.

The God of Trickery—what was he scheming?

Was he just in it for the chaos, like Vali?

With his reputation, it wouldn't be surprising.

Of course, Long Yi had no proof—just pure bias against Loki, the infamous chief god.

Honestly, he couldn't help it.

Bottom line: until things became clear, Long Yi wasn't about to burn bridges. Brien was just a pawn, a clueless lackey—letting him go was no big deal.

Rias clearly felt the same. No sense killing a minor character and handing the Norse gods an excuse to escalate.

For now, this was above Long Yi's pay grade. Worrying wouldn't help; this was Demon King business, not his. Let Sirzechs and the other Demon Kings handle the big picture.

Rias was busy on the other end of the phone, probably juggling contract commissions. She grabbed a moment to ask:

"Are you coming back tonight?"

"Tomorrow. Weekend's perfect for training with everyone."

Long Yi wanted to spend a little more time with Mai Sakurajima.

Now that the body-swapping mess was settled, Mai's schedule was about to get packed. Their chances to meet would get fewer and farther between.

"She's my girlfriend, and we have a faith contract. She deserves to be cherished," Rias said, a hint of jealousy in her voice.

"I've been spending time with you all too," Long Yi chuckled. "Actually, I've got good news—I signed another faith contract just now."

"Really?" Rias's jealousy vanished instantly. In truth, she was all for Long Yi deepening his bonds with faith contractors. She'd even be happy to see them reincarnated as devils.

High-quality contractors like these were rare. Rias was more proud than possessive.

That was how devils like Rias operated—never pushing others away out of jealousy.

After hanging up, Long Yi followed the soul contract's link and found Mai and Nodoka.

They'd walked off earlier, but they'd definitely seen Long Yi fighting.

When he approached, both girls visibly relaxed.

"What just happened…? Why were you fighting?" Nodoka asked, still shaken.

She'd known Long Yi was a devil, had seen him teleport and fly, but this was the first time she and Mai had witnessed a real battle.

Honestly, it was a lot to take in.

"Just some minor Norse god—never even heard his name. Not worth worrying about."

Long Yi said it like it was nothing, leaving Mai and Nodoka speechless.

That was… a lot of information.

"Will you be in danger?" Mai asked, worry in her eyes.

"Relax. I'm strong enough now."

Long Yi smiled. "Besides, my master is the Demon King's sister. So whether it's power or connections, I'm covered."

"Huh? Your master?" Nodoka's eyes widened. First she'd heard of this.

"Her name's Rias. She's my master—and my woman. You'll meet her someday."

Long Yi shrugged, blunt as ever.

Nodoka was stunned.

"W-woman… Sis, did you hear that?"

"Nodoka, the devil world isn't like ours. You've felt that, right?" Mai spoke softly, calm and steady.

She'd struggled with it too, but in the end, feelings weren't so easily erased.

Long Yi had never hidden anything from her. She'd fallen in, hopelessly, and she couldn't blame anyone but herself.

Mai's acceptance left Nodoka at a loss. She couldn't help but ask Long Yi:

"Did you put my sister under some kind of spell? Or use magic on her…?"

"Please. I'd never use that on someone I care about." Long Yi replied, calm and certain.

The power to alter memories was terrifying in the human world—enough to shake civilization itself.

But angels and devils, even fallen angels, wouldn't abuse memory alteration for evil. Only outcasts did that, twisting souls until even their bodies became warped and ugly.

Nodoka realized she'd crossed a line. She'd seen Long Yi's power before, and he'd never abused it. If he had, the world would be a much darker place…

Long Yi understood what Nodoka was thinking. He'd been human once—he knew those worries inside and out.

He smiled, stepping behind Mai and wrapping her in a gentle hug.

"Maybe humans can't understand it, but devils take feelings seriously. I love Mai, and I want to answer her feelings—with everything I have."

Mai's expression softened. "I never wanted to tie you down. I believe we can stand the test of time."

"…Ugh, enough already. You two are way too sweet," Nodoka muttered, her eyes a little jealous, her heart a mess.

She felt gratitude—and something more—for Long Yi. She'd always told herself his kindness belonged to her sister, and she could only envy it from afar.

But hearing Long Yi's words, something inside her shifted.

If that's how it is…

Maybe she could have a share of that warmth, too.

With her sister.

Nodoka's face flushed red.

Ah, what am I even thinking…
