"DXD: Transfer Student"Chapter 192: The Five-Meter Round Bed!
Morning sunlight spilled into the kitchen. Draconis Yi was already up, prepping breakfast.
Old habits die hard—years of dawn training had left him with short sleep cycles. He always woke early, no matter how late the night before.
He lingered for a moment beside Mai's sleeping form, indulging in the sight of her bare skin. Then, with a gentle kiss to her forehead and a heroic act of self-control, he slipped out of bed to make breakfast for his girlfriend.
Honestly, these simple mornings felt cozy—domestic, in a way he'd never known before.
Back at his old place, Asia always handled breakfast. The little nun was tireless, and Draconis Yi had been too busy training to ever cook for anyone. But now, with no need to rush his cultivation, he finally had time to enjoy life's little routines.
Magical body tempering made everything easier. His strength grew daily, and he didn't have to sacrifice anything else for it.
The kitchen door creaked open. Mai appeared in the doorway, wrapped in a thin white nightgown.
"You're up early," she said, her voice soft and sleepy.
"Couldn't sleep, so I got started." Draconis Yi smiled, busy at the stove. "I'm making noodles for you."
Mai's cheeks flushed. She shot him a look, voice low. "It's morning—keep it PG, will you?"
Draconis Yi paused, then chuckled, remembering last night—he'd said the same words, and Mai, blushing, had agreed. He'd made sure to reward her thoroughly, deploying all sixty-nine of his secret techniques.
"I mean actual noodles," he said with a grin, pointing to the pot.
Mai kept a straight face, walked over, and kicked him lightly in the leg.
Wife's affection—he'd just have to take it.
After her kick, Mai wrapped her arms around him from behind, snuggling close.
"Your cooking skills are kind of questionable."
"Hey, I made this especially for you!"
"You put in too many noodles. I'll ruin my figure if I eat all this." Mai smiled, still teasing.
"Your figure is perfect. I love every inch."
Draconis Yi plated the noodles, unfazed. Mai slipped off to wash up.
They ate together. Mai spoke up between bites:
"I'm heading to Kanzaki City today. I'll be staying at a hotel tonight—won't be back."
"For the movie audition?"
"Yep. The director's there. Ryoko-san will pick me up soon."
Draconis Yi nodded. "If you run into any trouble, just call me."
Then he cocked his head. "Will there be any kissing scenes in the film?"
"…There will." Mai's tone was matter-of-fact. "That's normal, isn't it?"
"Maybe you shouldn't audition, then." Draconis Yi stabbed his chopsticks into his egg, face deadpan.
Mai laughed. "Standing up a director would be career suicide."
Draconis Yi put on his most menacing face. "Guess I'll just have to rewrite the script with some magic."
"You don't need to go that far." Mai giggled. "The kissing scenes are between the leads. Satisfied?"
"I figured." Draconis Yi smiled.
"Hmph. I don't do kissing scenes with anyone else. My mom set that rule ages ago when she was my manager."
Mai wrinkled her nose, still a bit miffed. Her mom had once accepted a swimsuit shoot behind her back, knowing Mai refused those—and Mai had barely gotten through it, furious the whole time.
Draconis Yi caught her mood, sipped his soup. "Maybe I should meet your mom sometime."
"Why?"
"If we're getting married, it's only right for the parents to approve. Mine are fine with it, so…"
He looked at Mai, eyes saying you get what I mean.
Mai blinked, cheeks pink, but forced herself to nod calmly. "You're right."
"Let's make it happen when we get the chance." Draconis Yi couldn't get enough of her flustered look.
…
He watched Mai climb into her manager Hanawa Ryoko's car and drive off, then teleported home.
But as soon as he stepped out of the teleportation circle, he froze.
Where was he?
He checked the coordinates—this was definitely his house.
But the living room was enormous, at least five times bigger than before. For a second, he wondered if he'd accidentally teleported to Rias's family castle.
Was this really his home?
Draconis Yi walked outside, finding a sprawling courtyard where Rias and her Peerage were busy training.
"Welcome back," Rias called from the pavilion, setting down her book with a smile.
Everyone paused their training and gathered around.
"I'm back," Draconis Yi replied, glancing at the mansion behind him.
It was a six-story luxury building, easily ten times the footprint of his old villa.
"…What happened while I was gone?"
Rias laughed. "Didn't we say we'd renovate? I had my brother send people over and gave the place a full makeover."
She slipped her arm through his. "Want a tour?"
"This isn't a renovation, it's a rebuild," Draconis Yi muttered.
"If we're all living here, it needs to be spacious. I almost modeled it after my family's estate in the Underworld, but that'd be too much for the human world."
"This is already too much," Draconis Yi sighed. He had no doubt Rias's home in the Underworld was a palace.
"Ara ara, we haven't picked rooms yet," Akeno chimed in, smiling. "Let's assign them now—though we might not even use them…"
Draconis Yi didn't get what she meant—until he saw his own bedroom.
There, in the center, was a round bed five meters across. No exaggeration—it could sleep a dozen people, easy.
Draconis Yi stared for a few seconds, then let out a single word:
"Legendary."
