"DXD: Transfer Student"Chapter 213: He's Your Brother-in-Law

Yor hadn't noticed a thing.

The blood-tinged droplets in her hair weren't obvious—until they hit the pristine white tiles, standing out like warning lights.

Draconis Yi moved fast, grabbing a deep red towel from the bathroom.

"Let's get your hair dry before you catch cold."

He plugged in the hair dryer, sat Yor down, and started gently working through her hair from behind. As he did, he casually wiped the blood-speckled water off the floor with his foot.

Yor was flustered by his closeness, trying to keep her composure as Draconis Yi fussed over her. Worried she'd think he was taking advantage, he held his palm up for her to see—the blood was still there, bright and damning.

Yor's eyes went wide.

He'd saved her again.

If not for his quick reflexes, she'd have blown her cover for sure.

Her heart pounded with relief and gratitude. Draconis Yi finished up, evaporating the last traces of blood from his hand with a flicker of magic—smooth and unnoticed.

Yuri, thankfully, missed it all.

With her hair finally dry, Yor let it fall loose instead of tying it back, the long black strands framing her face in a way that was… striking.

Mature, magnetic—she was beautiful, and for once, she looked it.

Yuri couldn't look away.

Wow. Sis looks stunning today.

He glared at Draconis Yi, who'd just had his hands in her hair.

If only he could snap Draconis Yi's fingers—maybe use a few interrogation techniques, see if he'd cry.

"Sis, you suddenly show up with a boyfriend you've kept secret all this time? Why didn't you tell me sooner?"

Yuri's tone was thick with wounded pride.

"Uh… I forgot." Yor answered, dead serious.

"…Huh?" Yuri blinked.

Draconis Yi nearly choked.

What kind of answer was that?

Yuri pressed, "But… I asked you later if you had a boyfriend."

Yor replied, equally earnest, "Because I forgot I forgot to tell you I had a boyfriend."

Draconis Yi: "…"

He felt a wave of helplessness.

Was this some kind of nested doll logic?

Can you answer everything with 'I forgot'?

Her airheadedness was next-level.

He glanced at Yuri, already brainstorming how to salvage the situation—only to see Yuri nodding, completely convinced.

"If Sis says so, then there's no problem at all…"

Wait—really?

Draconis Yi's mind short-circuited.

This is what you believe?

Where's your common sense?

Forget using your brain—even your toes should know something's off!

Yuri around Yor was apparently brainless.

This wasn't just a sister complex. This was clinical.

Suddenly, Draconis Yi realized these two were a matched set—utterly ridiculous.

No wonder they were siblings.

Somehow, he'd dodged another bullet. Even he was surprised.

"Oh, right—I brought some red wine. Please, accept it."

Yuri produced his secret weapon, intent on getting Draconis Yi drunk and prying out the truth.

Draconis Yi accepted the bottle with a polite smile.

"Thanks, you're too kind. Let's drink properly tonight."

He fetched wine glasses and opened the bottle, letting it breathe.

While waiting, Yuri casually asked,

"I heard you work for the State Security Bureau, Draconis Yi? Which department?"

Yor jumped in, "Be polite, Yuri—he's your brother-in-law…"

"We're not married yet!" Yuri snapped, baring his teeth.

Draconis Yi just smiled.

"Just a desk job in the audit department."

Yuri nodded, masking his intent.

"So, that department. I heard someone there was caught selling secrets, ended up dead in his own home…"

"Really? Traitors dying is always good news."

Draconis Yi answered offhandedly.

Yuri's eyes flashed—a hint of triumph.

Gotcha.

There had been a traitor, but not from audit. This guy clearly didn't know the Bureau at all.

"Traitors, criminals—anyone threatening the country my sister loves, I'll never let them live."

Yuri's voice was steely, his gaze fixed on Draconis Yi.

Draconis Yi kept his cool, smiling inside.

A test, huh?

He didn't know a thing about the Bureau. Maybe Yuri's traitor wasn't even from audit.

He knew it was a trap, but he walked right into it.

What was there to worry about?

When Yuri checked his file at the Bureau, he'd get a nice surprise.

Thanks to Rias, his cover was airtight.

Let Yuri dig all he wanted—the truth he'd find would be exactly what Draconis Yi wanted.

Still, there was a downside:

Yuri's suspicions were planted deep.

He watched Draconis Yi and Yor, convinced something was off.

They were too polite, too careful—especially Yor.

But Yuri rationalized it:

Sis must have her reasons. Maybe she was just being considerate.

Yeah, that had to be it.

Yuri trusted his sister implicitly.

So the problem must be Draconis Yi.

If he'd lied about his job, he must be lying to her too.

Unforgivable.

I'll expose him.

"How did you two meet?" Yuri pressed.

"At a restaurant," Yor replied with a practiced smile. "He kept looking my way…"

They'd rehearsed this story, so Yor answered smoothly.

Draconis Yi smiled, a little embarrassed.

"Yor, you were just too beautiful. I was smitten—couldn't help staring."

Yuri froze.

He always used formal honorifics for his sister, but this guy called her by name—so close, so casual.

Aaaagh, damn him!
