"Looks like it's not this forest." At the edge of a dense woodland, Yang Yunhai opened his eyes and shook his head.
"I didn't sense anything either." Yiner spoke softly.
"Then let's head to the next one." Dugu Bo nodded.
Yang Yunhai carried one in each arm, kicked off the ground, and soared into the air. In places far from human settlements, naturally, he could fly swiftly.
After a day and night, Yang Yunhai shook his head again.
"This one isn't it either."
Three days later, they finally arrived at a vast and ancient forest. At the outskirts, Blue Silver Grass grew thickly everywhere.
Yang Yunhai sat cross-legged, closed his eyes, and released his spiritual sense.
"Emperor, Great Emperor, is it really you?" An old voice suddenly rang in his ears, soon turning into excitement. "Empress!? You've finally returned, thank the heavens! Great Emperor, great Empress, please come to me."
'So it really is here. Tang Hao knew of this place, but never came…' Yang Yunhai thought to himself. Honestly, he truly suspected Tang Hao had done it deliberately. Since Tang Hao knew the Blue Silver King could lead the clan to share their life energy with Tang San to help him achieve his second Martial Soul Awakening, how could he not also know they could share life energy with Ah Yin to help her recover quickly? Yet Tang Hao had not done so.
Instead, he planted Ah Yin in a lightless cavern, cutting her off completely from the outside Blue Silver Grass.
In his past life, he had suspected it was because Tang Hao feared that if the Blue Silver King and the Blue Silver Grass of this forest shared their energy with Ah Yin to restore her cultivation, there would be no excess energy left to help his son—who might awaken Blue Silver Grass—achieve a second Martial Soul Awakening.
'He conveniently broke through rank 90 on the very day of her childbirth, and the Spirit Hall just happened to find them then. Yet afterward, he and his son lived safely in Holy Spirit Village for over 10 years without Spirit Hall discovering them? But when he was hiding with his wife, Spirit Hall always managed to find them? Too many coincidences.'
"Yun, is that voice calling us?" Yiner asked.
"Mm." Yang Yunhai opened his eyes, nodded slightly, and said softly, "Yiner, come out."
"Okay." Yiner immediately appeared.
Yang Yunhai turned his head and smiled. "We've arrived. Let's head in."
"Alright." Everyone nodded and quickly followed Yang Yunhai deeper into the forest.
"Great Emperor, great Empress, who are those behind you?" The Blue Silver King's voice rang again in his mind.
"Don't worry, they're my friends. They won't harm a single blade of grass or tree here." Yang Yunhai transmitted back with his spiritual power.
"Since they are guests of the Emperor, they may enter together." The Blue Silver King replied respectfully.
Guided by spiritual power, they sped along for about an hour. Passing between two massive trees, they entered a clearing. Before them stood a strange plant woven from countless vines. Each vine was as thick as a man's waist, glowing with a faint blue luminescence. At its center, the twisted vines formed the contours of a smiling human face.
Around it, the Blue Silver Grass grew especially lush and vigorous.
'Such massive Blue Silver Grass, like towering trees!?' Behind him, Dugu Bo and the others were stunned.
'Its cultivation must be no less than 50,000 years.' Chrysanthemum Douluo sighed inwardly.
"Empress, how did you become like this? Even your appearance has changed." This time, the Blue Silver King truly spoke aloud.
'Damn, it can talk!' Everyone was once again shocked.
Facing the Blue Silver King, who recognized her but looked unfamiliar, Yiner instinctively clutched Yang Yunhai's arm, shaking her head slightly in confusion. She whispered, "I have been reborn, and I've forgotten my past. Now, my name is Yiner, and I am Yun's wife."
Unconsciously, she tightened her grip on his arm. For some reason, she felt afraid of learning about her past.
Yang Yunhai gently patted her hand, then transmitted to the Blue Silver King: "Respected Blue Silver King, please do not tell Yiner about her past. The woman she once was had already died for someone in sacrifice. I found her in a dark cavern, where she left behind a soul bone. Because of special circumstances, after absorbing that soul bone, I formed a contract with her."
"Because of that, both my Martial Soul and bloodline evolved."
"Blue Silver King, surely you understand what it meant that he planted Yiner in a cavern, cut off from all her kin, rather than bringing her back here."
"For Yiner, those memories are nothing but pain. I don't want her to recall them again."
"How could this be?" The Blue Silver King's voice carried sorrow.
If that man had brought the Empress's seed here, with his help and the support of the Blue Silver Grass, her recovery would have been vastly accelerated. Yet instead, he planted her in a cave, keeping her there for years. How malicious was that heart?
Clearly, he had never wanted the Empress to recover!
"Blue Silver King, don't worry. I will help Yiner rebuild her body. I already have some clues toward this." Yang Yunhai continued his transmission. "Moreover, her current form is not without its benefits."
"You must have sensed it—Yiner's aura is stronger than before. Now she can cultivate alongside me. Though she has no body, her soul is steadily growing stronger. I believe when her soul reaches a sufficient strength and then she rebuilds her body, her future achievements will be even greater."
"For Yiner, isn't this also a way to avoid the heavenly tribulation while still continuing to grow?"
"So it is!" The Blue Silver King was shocked. He had indeed sensed the Empress's spiritual fluctuations were far stronger than when she left.
The vine-face cast a very human-like glance at Yiner and replied respectfully, "Great Emperor, I understand. Please rest assured, I will keep the Empress's secret."
Though Yang Yunhai was human, his evolved bloodline aura did not lie. He was their Emperor—and the reborn Empress's husband. As a subject, the Blue Silver King naturally had to obey his monarch.
'Soul beasts really are simple-minded creatures, especially ones that spend ages in seclusion.' Yang Yunhai sighed inwardly and nodded slightly.
"Great Emperor, you must have come for me to help awaken your bloodline, yes?" The Blue Silver King now spoke plainly. "I can sense that your bloodline has revived, but it has not fully awakened. Thank the heavens, your bloodline flows even purer than the Empress's, filled with immense vitality. I believe in the future you will surely lead the clan to greater heights."
"As your people, we will always revere you. Your Majesty, do you vow to forever protect your clan?"
"???" Dugu Bo glanced at Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo, both equally dumbfounded.
"This is only natural." Yang Yunhai nodded slightly.
'Well, since my wife was once your Empress, I suppose I'll just have to take care of her in-laws too.' Yang Yunhai thought inwardly with a wry smile.
