Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: Cat, Skyfall vs. Green Plum

Another morning.

Xi Nian changed into his outdoor winter clothes and headed to school. This was the last day of school this week. The day after tomorrow was Christmas, the annual holiday. American high schools, big and small, would be on holiday starting tomorrow, a full week-long break.

When I passed the intersection, I didn't run into Gwen like I did in the past, and I didn't know if she was still on sick leave today.

However, when passing the intersection next to the residential area, an orange-yellow animal figure jumped out from the lawn of the park, which scared Xi Nian out of the blue.

Perhaps it was from the night before yesterday that the door to the extraordinary was opened, and I began to frequently come into contact with extraordinary things.

Xi Nian, with one foot on the threshold of the other side of the world, is physically and mentally exhausted. His worldview is constantly being refreshed, and he is still not quite used to it, so his spirit and heart are tense.

Xi Nian glanced over cautiously and saw a kitten squatting on the ground. It was about one or two years old, a little thin, and its orange fur clearly showed its breed.

"It's just a little orange cat." Xi Nian breathed a sigh of relief, but couldn't help but smile bitterly.

I have been really careless recently. The world is so big, how could it be so easy to encounter extraordinary people?

"Why, are you hungry?"

When Xinian saw that the kitten had no name tag on its neck and looked dirty and pitiful, he knew that it was most likely a stray cat abandoned in the park.

After thinking about it, Xinian ran to a convenience store not far away, bought three sausages and turned back.

Seeing Xinian, the two-legged beast, approaching, the little orange cat quickly hid back in the grass, faintly revealing a pair of emerald green vertical pupils, and his eyes were full of deep vigilance.

"This is edible, look." Xinian opened the package in front of it, happily ate one of the sausages, and put the remaining two sausages on the ground in front of the grass.

Class time was approaching, so Xi Nian didn't stay too long.

After he walked out of the park, he looked back and saw the grass in the distance swaying violently, and the sausage on the ground had disappeared.

Xi Nian smiled knowingly and continued to rush to school.

In the grass.

The pair of green vertical pupils watched Xi Nian go away. The kitten licked its paws. Its small belly did not seem to be bloated at all. As for the two sausages, including the packaging bags, they had completely disappeared.

At the school gate.

Xi Nian ran into Gwen who had just arrived at the school. They were both visibly stunned when they saw each other.

"Gwen, is your cold feeling better?" Xinian was walking forward to greet her.

As a result, Gwen suddenly puffed up her cheeks, pretended not to see him, and quickened her pace to walk into the school.

Xi Nian was bewildered.

What's going on?

The girl's mind is really hard to understand.

Xi Nian shook his head, confused, and simply stopped thinking about it.

However, we still have to chase it.

Xi Nian quickened his pace to catch up. However, the faster he chased, the faster Gwen ran in front.

The two ran into the teaching building one after the other.

At this time, a girl called out to Xi Nian in the corridor: "Senior, please stop for a moment."

Xi Nian raised his eyes and saw a female student in the lower grade who was about fifteen years old.

The other person's long golden hair was tied into an old-fashioned single ponytail, with many strands of hair lying messily on her forehead and face. She wore a pair of black glasses with thick frame, and kept her head down and dared not look people in the eye, which made her look like a nerd, a nobody in school, or the perfect target for bullying and ridicule among girls of the same age.

Xi Nian had no special impression of this female classmate. Out of courtesy, he asked in a gentle voice, "Excuse me, classmate, what can I do for you?"

"Um..." The girl hesitated, bit her lip, and mustered up the courage to say, "Senior, my name is Kara Danvers. We met at the opening party before."

"I remember now." Xi Nian suddenly realized that during the opening party, this female classmate was alone in a deserted corner outside the crowd. Perhaps she was thinking of some experiences before she met Gwen in her childhood, which made him feel sorry for her and he went forward to greet this classmate and explained some of the school's measures and rules to her.

But that was almost half a year ago.

"You still remember me." The girl's eyes suddenly lit up, and she raised her head slightly, staring closely at Xi Nian in front of her. She was originally hesitant, but now she seemed to have finally made up her mind.

"Hmm?" Gwen, who stopped in front of the corridor and saw this scene, didn't know whether it was because her spider sense was too sharp or because of her sixth sense as a woman, but she suddenly had an ominous premonition.

She wanted to step forward and interrupt Kara's next words.

But as if she anticipated Gwen's interruption, Kara secretly clenched her fists and spoke in a tone that was much faster than usual: "Senior, I, I like you, please go out with me!"

Her voice was neither loud nor soft, and could be heard almost throughout the corridor.

Xi Nian opened his mouth wide.

"This!" Gwen's beautiful eyes narrowed sharply as she was a step late. A few seconds later, the students in the corridor were in an uproar.

"Youth is wonderful."

A teacher passing by turned a blind eye, shook his head and made an emotional comment.

Ring ring ring!

The bell rang for the end of get out of class.

The huge high school campus was accompanied by a burst of noise, and a large number of students poured out of the teaching building. Apart from some conversation classes and lunch, most of them were still discussing the silver-haired goddess and the campus confession incident in the morning.

Childhood sweethearts VS a girl who falls from the sky?

Popularity ranking No. 1 VS popularity ranking last No. 1?

This is definitely going to be in the school weekly news! Luckily, after today we'll have a week-long holiday.

Xi Nian, the protagonist of this incident, packed up his things and left the school gate early. Behind him, Gwen, carrying her schoolbag in one hand, hurried after him, kicking her boots. She had completely forgotten her previous embarrassment and asked angrily, "Xi Nian, you are not really going to agree to the confession of a girl you just met for the first time, are you?"

"It's not the first time we met." Xi Nian corrected, "It's the second time we met."

"This is the second time. This is too exaggerated!" Gwen suddenly became anxious.

"Don't worry, I didn't promise her."

"But you didn't refuse."

"That's because..." Xi Nian paused and looked at Gwen seriously: "You know what? Confessing in public means she has mustered enough courage."

"I haven't figured out how to respond to her courage and determination yet." Xi Nian said this, and then apologized, "I'm sorry, Gwen, I accidentally dragged you into this. This matter originally had nothing to do with you."

Gwen stared blankly at Xi Nian's back as he continued to walk forward. Her soft and fair lower lip had been tightly bitten by his pearly teeth without her knowing when.

No, it doesn't matter.

Gwen said to herself.
