Chapter 26 - 26: Constellations on the Ceiling

Minho felt sweat beading on his forehead as his father's cold eyes bore into him, waiting for an answer that could determine his fate.

"I signed up for a club today," he said simply, keeping his voice as steady as possible. "Drama club. And I had classes. Constitutional law ran late."

The words felt inadequate even as he spoke them, but they were the truth.

At least, a version of it that didn't include fainting girls or health centers or cryptic promises about attention that couldn't be lost.

Chairman Seo Woobin stared at him for what felt like an eternity, his scarred torso gleaming under the study's harsh lights. Then, without breaking eye contact, he shifted his gaze to Jiwon.

"Is that true?" he asked.

Jiwon hesitated. It was barely a pause, maybe half a second, but in the suffocating atmosphere of the study, it felt like a lifetime. Minho's heart stopped beating entirely as he waited for the bodyguard's response.

"Yes, sir," Jiwon said finally. "That's correct."
