Chapter 31 - 31: Close Enough to Burn

"We'll be preparing Korean Royal Court Bulgogi," Minho announced, rolling up his sleeves as if he'd done this a thousand times before.

"Bulgogi?" Haeun scoffed, though her stomach twisted with nerves. "Seonbae, that's basic."

"Royal Court Bulgogi," he corrected, his smirk widening. "There's a difference. You'll see."

Garam emerged from the kitchen carrying armfuls of ingredients: thinly sliced premium beef, Asian pear, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and an array of vegetables that looked more expensive than Haeun's monthly grocery budget.

"You have one hour," Garam announced, setting a large timer on the counter. "Same ingredients, same time limit. May the best cook win."

She pressed the timer, and immediately the kitchen erupted into chaos.

Minho moved around the kitchen like he had been born in one. His hands were steady as he began working with the beef, measuring ingredients without even looking at measuring spoons.
