The restaurant Ryu Taesik had suggested was exactly what Minho had expected.
Painted in shades of red velvet and black, it was the kind of place that screamed money and danger in equal measure. Crystal chandeliers hung from the ceiling like frozen tears, and the waitstaff moved with swift steps. They knew better than to eavesdrop on conversations that could get them killed.
As Ryu Taesik and Chairman Seo Woobin greeted each other, Minho wrinkled his nose in irritation. They shook hands, smiled, exchanged pleasantries about the weather and their health, but both Minho and Dasom could see the tension crackling beneath the surface.
It was all performance. All fake.
All mutual hatred disguised as business partnership.
"How is my soon-to-be son-in-law doing?" Ryu Taesik asked, his sharp eyes focusing on Minho after he finished exchanging pleasantries with Chairman Seo Woobin. Amusement flickered in them as he waited for Minho's response, and they all sat down.
