Echo's POV
I fell through the roof at the exact moment Jake's eyes started glowing like stars, and I knew we were all in terrible danger.
My body hit the pack house floor hard, but I rolled and came up running. That's what you learn when you're meant to die in chapter three of a horror story but refuse to stay dead - always keep moving, always stay ready.
"Everyone get back!" I shouted at the confused people looking at me. "He's about to lose control!"
The boy with starlight eyes - Jake, I'd heard them call him - was sitting up now, power spreading from him in waves. But I could see what the others couldn't. Behind that glow, something else was stirring. Something hungry and vast and definitely not human.
"Who are you?" the werewolf girl asked. She had ghosts dancing around her hands, ready to fight.
