"What makes you think you can fight me?"
"With that pathetic electric discharge ability?"
"You're not worthy. You can't even touch me."
"Only a Speedster can rival a Speedster."
"You… you only deserve to die by my hand."
Reverse-Flash said arrogantly, his magnetic voice resonating from his rapidly vibrating vocal cords.
Lin Li gritted his teeth, glaring hatefully at Reverse-Flash. He was paying for his earlier recklessness. If he hadn't, in a fit of anger, used all his stamina to generate electricity, foolishly attempting to defeat Reverse-Flash with one blow, he could have lasted much longer, planning his moves carefully. Even a Speedster couldn't defeat him that quickly. At least Lin Li knew that at this point, Reverse-Flash couldn't use the Speed Force indefinitely. If he could hold out until the Speed Force disappeared, he would definitely win.
Reverse-Flash rapidly vibrated his right hand, blurring it, and said with a cruel smile, "It's over. Let everything return to normal."
Lin Li struggled to stand. The fractured bones and internal organs in his chest made him feel an intense itch, as his cells rapidly repaired all the damage. In just over ten seconds, his stamina had recovered slightly, allowing him to stand.
Damn it, am I going to die here?
Lin Li was unwilling, very unwilling. He just wanted to go back; he hadn't intended to disrupt anything here. He even knew early on that Reverse-Flash was Dr. Wells, Barry's mother's killer, but he didn't want to interfere because he knew the final outcome. However, because of his Crossing, the future had changed, making Reverse-Flash wary and eager to correct it back to the proper future. This was something he hadn't anticipated.
He dragged his injured body, retreating hastily, as Reverse-Flash advanced towards him, hand vibrating into a blade.
"Do you know how long it took me to create this day?"
Lin Li didn't answer, his thoughts racing at super-speed. All he could do now was stall. He understood Reverse-Flash's current state very clearly: the Speed Force was a finite resource, diminishing with each use.
"Fourteen years. I will not allow any accidents."
"Originally, you had value. Now, only your death holds the greatest value."
With that, Reverse-Flash advanced with his hand-blade, intending to stab it into Lin Li's heart.
Just as he was about to move forward and kill Lin Li, he stumbled, almost falling. Red lightning arcs flickered around him, his hand-blade stopped vibrating, and his body became clear, no longer blurred.
The Speed Force was gone.
Good opportunity!
Finally, I've waited for your Speed Force to almost run out.
Lin Li remained calm and composed, realizing that Reverse-Flash's Speed Force was nearly depleted.
He stepped forward, disregarding the pain in his chest wound, and punched Reverse-Flash.
The punch landed directly on Reverse-Flash's chest, splitting the lightning emblem on his chest in two. Reverse-Flash was sent flying over ten meters.
Reverse-Flash gasped, coughing up bright red blood, glaring viciously at Lin Li. That punch had broken several of his left ribs, and his heart had almost been crushed.
Damn it!
He hadn't expected the Speed Force to be in such a precarious state. He considered retreating. He knew of Lin Li's strong physique, seven times stronger than an ordinary metahuman, accompanied by powerful regenerative and healing abilities, strong cell hematopoiesis, and metabolism. If he hadn't quickly landed dozens of punches to take Lin Li down earlier, a fully energized Lin Li could have absolutely punched his heart out.
"You think you can kill a Speedster?"
Reverse-Flash showed no weakness, still arrogant and unbridled even as he coughed up blood.
Villains die from talking too much.
Lin Li said nothing. The tearing pain in his chest stimulated him, proving how ruthless Reverse-Flash had been. If he hadn't traveled here and been struck by lightning to gain this powerful body, he would have been killed by those dozens of super-speed punches long ago.
It was also fortunate that in his Speed Force state, Reverse-Flash's speed didn't increase kinetic energy, otherwise the accumulated kinetic energy from those dozens of punches would have directly vibrated him to death.
Die, Reverse-Flash! You want to kill me? Then die!
Electric arcs appeared on Lin Li's arm as he continued to pursue Reverse-Flash. The distance of over ten meters was covered instantly, in less than a second, and he brought his fist down on Reverse-Flash.
However, it was still too slow. Reverse-Flash once again blurred into a figure and disappeared.
His fist slammed into the muddy ground, sending dirt flying. A fist-sized crater was left in the mud, emitting a burnt smell from the high temperature generated by the electricity, scorching the earth.
Lin Li's heart sank. Reverse-Flash had escaped.
"I told you, only a Speedster can rival a Speedster."
"Lin Li, I won't give up."
"When I recover, that will be your death."
The magnetic voice came from afar, as a yellow phantom, accompanied by flickering red lightning arcs, ran off and disappeared.
Lin Li gasped for breath, drenched in sweat, and slumped onto the muddy ground. His upper body was bare, and the slightly caved-in bones in his chest sent sharp pains through him.
Numbness and intense pain surged through his mind in waves, making him remember this unbearable suffering.
Fifteen minutes later, the pain from his chest was less intense. Lin Li pushed himself up with his hands, slowly standing.
His body was thirsty, sending signals that it needed electrical energy.
Lin Li found a wooden branch as tall as himself, propped himself up with it, and slowly began to move.
This was a forest, with a dirt path.
He didn't know where Reverse-Flash had taken him. Distinguishing the direction of the footprints, he followed Reverse-Flash's tracks.
Leaning on the wooden branch, he walked for thirty minutes. Emerging from the forest, he saw a thirty-meter-high power tower.
Good, heaven hasn't abandoned me. Once I'm fully charged, I'll make you suffer, Eobard Thawne, you beast.
Lin Li excitedly threw away the wooden branch and climbed the power tower. Electricity was food to him now. As long as he had enough electricity to replenish himself, he could undergo cell division, mend broken bones, recover from injuries, and reach optimal condition. Without electricity, he could still recover, but it would be slower.
That night, the suburbs experienced a half-hour power outage…
At Star Labs.
Cisco and Caitlin were organizing boxes of equipment, which would soon be transported to another location to test Barry's and Lin Li's abilities.
At eight in the morning, Lin Li appeared in the main control room, full of energy.
A women's red T-shirt clung tightly to his body, revealing his six-pack abs, paired with summer beach shorts, and his feet were bare and muddy, presenting a completely mismatched appearance.
Cisco saw Lin Li's unconventional look and asked in surprise, "Are you going out to perform performance art in that outfit?"
Caitlin's cold face showed several more layers of wariness. She said coldly, "Change into normal clothes, pervert."
Lin Li waved his hands helplessly, indicating that he didn't want to wear this outfit either.
Last night, he had climbed the power tower directly, consumed electricity for half an hour, eaten his fill, and then slept right there. He woke up in the morning completely naked, found a farmhouse to steal some clothes, rushed to the city, and struggled to find a taxi driver willing to take him. He felt it was already quite good to be in this state, at least he wasn't returning naked.
Lin Li, with his muddy feet, walked over to Cisco and patted his shoulder: "Brother, it's a long story. Something thrilling happened last night. I haven't paid the taxi driver who brought me back here. He's at the door. Please help me pay him. I'm going to take a shower first."
