Chapter 34 - Chapter 33 Fatherly Love

After about ten minutes of playful checks, Joe arrived, having been notified by Cisco.

Joe rushed into Surgery and immediately gave Barry a bear hug.

Joe happily hugged Barry and said, "My boy, you had me so worried."

Barry, moved, smiled and said, "It's okay, Joe, I'm recovering very quickly. Look, I can jump and run again."

Barry even playfully jumped twice after speaking.

Joe patted Barry's arm, then seriously and sternly grabbed Barry's arms, saying, "Barry, I suggest you go back and focus on your job. You already have a job at the police station."

Barry, confused, asked, "Joe, do you mean..."

Joe said sternly, "Put down that red suit, put down all those foolish acts, okay?"

Caitlin 'hmmphed' in agreement, indicating she couldn't stand the superhero antics of these men.

Joe looked at Caitlin strangely.

Caitlin said, "Don't look at me, I'm supporting you."

Put down that red suit? How could that be? If he didn't wear that suit to be The Flash, what would happen to the future? Lin Li didn't care; as long as Barry ran fast enough to travel through time, he didn't care what happened in the future. Wells, however, was anxious; he needed The Flash to appear to stabilize the future.

Dr. Wells said, "Detective, we are all doing this for Barry's good..."

Wells was interrupted by Joe before he could finish: "If you were doing this for Barry's good, you should be advising him properly, not letting him go out and risk his life. He almost died again."

Barry was very dissatisfied with Joe's words. He said, "Joe, you saw it, there's a metahuman who can control the weather..."

"So what? You almost got killed, you almost died. You're just a little fast. You can't handle this. Stop this foolish behavior."

Joe said sternly. He really didn't want Barry to be in danger; it was too risky. He had already planned to talk to Barry about stopping these heroic acts. Now that Barry was lying in a hospital bed, Joe felt even more strongly that it was too dangerous and absolutely couldn't be allowed.

Facing Joe's lack of understanding, anger rose in Barry's heart. He said with a hint of fury, "I saved you, I saved Eddie, I saved everyone on the street. Without me, you all would have died. I have the ability to do these things, so I must do them."

Joe crossed his arms over his chest and reprimanded, "You think running a little fast and saving a few people makes you a hero? Makes you amazing? Don't live in a hero's dream, Barry. Lin Li is much stronger than you. Leave these things to him. You're still a child, my child. Stop your fantasy of being a hero."

Joe's reprimand fueled Barry's anger, and he roared, "I'm not your child, Joe, and you're not my father."

"My father is suffering in prison, full of injustice."

"It was caused by your misjudgment, and this time it was also caused by your misjudgment."

"I saved you, I saved Eddie, yet you scold me like this, denying what I do. I don't know what I'm doing wrong."

"I don't have the ability to save my father, but if I can save others from disaster, or stop some criminals, I will definitely act, without hesitation."

"I'm not your pet. You can't stop me."

After roaring, Barry transformed into a phantom, stirring up a gust of wind and yellow electric arcs, disappearing from Surgery. His adoptive father's lack of understanding, lack of support, and denial of his actions made him feel incredibly pained. The person closest to him, why did he never understand his thoughts? He sped off in anger.

A gust of wind pressed against Joe's face. His eyes filled with tears as he watched Barry disappear. Barry's words, 'I'm not your child, and you're not my father,' broke his heart. After raising him for over a decade, their bond was etched into his bones; he had long considered Barry his own son. At this moment, paternal love clashed with his child's actions, causing him immense pain. He wished Barry would do as he suggested for his own good, but Barry simply couldn't understand.

Every father and child will encounter such problems; a father's love controls the child, while the child's will only wishes to be affirmed.

This was a family matter, and the others couldn't intervene. Only after Barry left, and then Joe, did the oppressive atmosphere ease.

"The Flash and his adoptive father are at odds? Will Barry's hero plan be aborted?"

Cisco made a gun shape with his fingers, pointing at the others, trying to get an answer. He loved being a superhero's backup; he didn't want to lose such a cool operation after only a few days.

Caitlin didn't respond to him, shaking her head to herself and saying, "Barry and Joe must feel terrible. They clearly care so much about each other."

"This is something Barry needs to resolve, and I believe he will. Our most important task now is to find the Weather Wizard."

Wells controlled his wheelchair and left Surgery after speaking.

Cisco followed Wells out of Surgery; he needed to go to the control room hall to monitor and repair the Lightning Suit.

Caitlin stayed behind, preparing to tidy up Surgery, as it was her domain.

Seeing Lin Li standing still, she called out to him, "Lin Li? What are you doing standing there like a wooden dummy? Or are you going to help me tidy up Surgery?"

Lin Li shook his head, appearing to 'wake up,' and said, "Huh? I'm going to the underground training room."

He left without any chivalry, leaving Caitlin to tidy up Surgery alone.

Caitlin continued to tidy up Surgery with an indifferent expression.

The moment Barry left, Lin Li felt the Speed Force in his mind, which was like a tiny star, suddenly expand, rapidly increasing a large amount of Speed Force. His head, like before, had a mass of Speed Force within it.

So, the Speed Force only generates when Barry runs?

Lin Li pondered carefully. The Speed Force in his head worried him, especially the fact that it was beyond his control. He had experienced the sensation of using the Speed Force and knew what a divine feeling it was. He had also yearned to acquire this divine power, but the Speed Force remained unresponsive, causing him to give up.

He had originally thought that the tiny bit of Speed Force in his head would remain like a star, neither increasing nor decreasing, just staying there.

Only when Barry started running did he feel it.

The Speed Force once again enveloped his head. Why did the Speed Force envelop his head? What was it enveloping and wrapping? Yet, this mass of Speed Force didn't affect his brain's function; it just stayed there quietly, only giving a warning when Barry's life was in danger.

This mass of Speed Force in his head was definitely strange!

I need to study the Speed Force.

With this thought, Lin Li went directly to the control room hall to download all data related to Barry, including his physical data from the past two days. He needed to study why this mass of Speed Force, belonging to Barry, was in his head.

Lin Li's actions once again aroused Wells' suspicion, especially when he saw Lin Li downloading all of Barry's information onto his tablet to study it.
