Chapter 38 - Chapter 37 Crazy Madden

Marden tucked the gun into his waistband, moving it away from Eddie's scalp. His abilities made him fearless of Eddie's resistance.

Because Eddie was still unsure what was happening, he remained frozen, hands stiffly raised, not daring to move.

Marden placed a hand on Eddie's shoulder and said maniacally, "Prepare to witness the power of a god!"

A fierce wind swept through, sending dry, yellow leaves flying everywhere.

The sudden change in weather made Eddie panic. The strong wind and dry leaves slapped against his face, making him squint uncomfortably. He felt a current of air rising beneath his feet, lifting him up, like driftwood on water. Stepping on it made him lose control and balance.

He swayed precariously, but the hand on his shoulder kept him steady.

Beneath their feet, an updraft lifted him and Marden off the ground.

Ten centimeters, their feet slowly left the ground.

Thirty centimeters…

Eighty centimeters…

One meter…

Three meters…

He was stunned, staring blankly at Joe, who was getting smaller and smaller.

This superhuman ability shocked his mind.

The air current beneath their feet lifted them up, making them fly.

Dust and dry leaves filled the sky, startling Joe and Eddie. Last time, with the dense fog, Joe couldn't clearly see what was happening, only feeling the immense power of the super ability and the enormous destruction it caused.

This time, although the dust and flying leaves obstructed their view, it was still clear that two figures were rising into the air amidst the swirling dust, dry leaves, and strong winds.

Joe and Eddie were both dumbfounded and shocked. Their minds went blank as they stared in amazement at everything.

Eddie murmured in disbelief, "Oh my God… This… This…" He stammered, unable to articulate the shock he felt.

Can human power reach this level? That's impossible. In his understanding, humans cannot fly, nor can they create strong winds. All of this made him feel too insane.

"I am God! I am God!"

Marden laughed loudly, standing thirteen meters high in the air. This height wasn't very high, about four or five stories, enough for him to see the continuous stretch of trees and the undulating buildings of Central City. The air current blowing against his face filled him with a heroic ambition to control the world and a desire to dominate everything.

"You're a robber, a murderer, cough cough… You can't… cough…"

Eddie suppressed his inner horror and cursed at Marden, choking several times on the air currents in the sky.

Marden scoffed arrogantly, "Do you see? This is the power of a god, haha! You mortals, trying to capture a god? Haha…"

Marden laughed wildly, a cruel look in his eyes. He let go of Eddie's shoulder.

"Ah…"

… … … …

Star Labs, Control Room Hall.

Cisco and Barry were discussing intensely.

"Cisco, I don't think you can remember almost 300 different criminal acts."

"Why not? I was the one who proposed it, using numerical codes to represent criminal acts. This can be very efficient and quickly help us combat crime."

"OK, then let me ask you, what criminal act does number 237 represent?"

"I… need to check my notepad."

Barry spread his hands helplessly, an 'I told you so' expression on his face.

Cisco quickly flipped through his notepad, then gave up, throwing it on the table and saying, "Alright, this plan is abandoned. I really can't remember."

Caitlin said matter-of-factly, "See? I told you it was impossible."

Cisco was about to retort, but before he could speak,

The computer alert sounded.

The few of them exchanged glances. Caitlin, being closest to the computer, ran directly to it to check.

"South City forest, about ten kilometers from the residential area, there's an abnormal weather reaction. Weather Wizard might have appeared."

Caitlin rattled off as she quickly typed on the keyboard.

"Looks like our super-criminal bane is about to make an appearance."

Cisco finished speaking, adjusted the channel, and spoke into the microphone. At the same time, his phone rang.

"Super-criminal bane, our consultant Lin Li, your opponent Weather Wizard has appeared."

There was a loudspeaker in the basement, broadcasting Cisco's voice. Lin Li, who was studying, heard Cisco's words. He put away his tablet and walked towards the control room.

Hearing Cisco's words, Barry felt a bit bitter. He felt his own abilities were insufficient to deal with Weather Wizard; Joe had severely crushed his confidence.

Cisco pulled out his ringing phone, a little puzzled. It was Joe calling.

Because Lin Li didn't have a phone, he had given Joe Cisco's number, telling him to call Cisco if there was any message, and Cisco would then tell Lin Li. Lin Li's usual practice easily interfered with and damaged phone signal components, so he didn't carry one. Having Cisco relay messages was fine anyway, as Lin Li wouldn't leave Star Labs.

Normally, Joe would only call Cisco if he had found traces of Weather Wizard. Now, he was calling just after an abnormal climate was detected, making Cisco suspect he was at the scene.

Cisco glanced at Barry and Caitlin.

"It's Joe."

Cisco said, then put it on speakerphone, and Joe's pained voice came through.

"Cisco, notify Lin Li, immediately, ah…"

Barry heard Joe's pained cry and anxiously snatched the phone, "Joe, what's wrong?"

A mad, angry voice came from the phone: "You guy who uses lightning, come and accept the judgment of God! I will eventually step on Central City, rule everything! You will perish, beneath my feet, as a stepping stone for me to ascend to the throne of God!"

Then the phone crackled and went silent.

The frantic tone of voice startled the few of them.

Cisco said in shock, "Oh my God, Weather Wizard has been driven mad by Lin Li… he didn't even say the address."

Barry's mind was instantly in turmoil. He paced back and forth, Joe's unknown fate making him panic. He said impatiently, "I'm going to save Joe."

Caitlin stopped him, saying, "Barry, you're not his opponent."

Joe's life or death made Barry anxious and restless. He was afraid something would happen to Joe. Joe was his second father, raising him and being no less important than his biological father. Over a decade of affection made Barry unable to ignore his danger.

Yellow lightning arced from Barry's body, stirring up a gust of wind. He was wearing his The Flash suit and disappeared from the main control room.

Cisco and Caitlin were both deeply worried.

From the hallway, Lin Li sensed Barry's figure, leaving a trail of yellow lightning.

Barry's impulsive and hot-headed personality flashed through Lin Li's mind. He had a bad feeling and quickly rushed to the main control room.

"Barry went to deal with Weather Wizard?"

"Yes, Marden threatened Joe."

Lin Li's heart sank. He called out to Cisco.

"Let's go, Cisco."

"What?"

"Give me a ride, I don't know the way."
