Saki walked down the street and climbed the nearest building, her movements quick and fluid as she pulled herself up onto the roof. Once at the top, she crouched low, sharp eyes scanning the land below as she searched for Nemesis. It didn't take long before she spotted him, the hulking monster stomping relentlessly toward the power plant, each step shaking the ground like as he walked.
Saki took out the hunting rifle, steadying her breath as she laid flat against the rooftop. She narrowed her eyes, aiming carefully at his head. Her finger tightened on the trigger, but her lack of expert marksmanship showed—the shot rang out and the bullet slammed into his torso instead, punching a hole clean through him.
Nemesis roared in pain, his guttural scream echoing through the ruined city as he dropped to one knee. Even from this distance, Saki could see the grotesque wound already knitting itself back together, flesh bubbling and muscles re-forming with horrifying speed.
"Damn… already healing?" she muttered under her breath. Deciding not to waste any more precious ammunition, she quickly stored her rifle back into her inventory.
Without hesitation, Saki leaped off the building, her body twisting gracefully as she landed softly on the cracked pavement below. She didn't stop—she put on a sudden burst of speed, her legs blurring as she charged directly at Nemesis, fearless determination blazing in her eyes.
Once within range, she drove her fist upward in a devastating uppercut, knuckles connecting solidly with his massive jaw. The impact cracked through the air like thunder, sending Nemesis flying back. He crashed down onto a parked car, the vehicle folding and crumpling under his sheer weight.
Nemesis staggered back up, rage twisting his grotesque features. He let out another deafening roar and charged forward like a bull, his massive fist swinging straight at her with murderous force.
Saki raised her left arm, bracing herself. Her forearm collided with his incoming fist, halting the blow mid-swing. The impact generated a violent shockwave, blasting windows apart and rattling the streets around them. Her expression tightened—teeth clenched, eyes narrowing.
"Okay…" she thought, her mind racing. He's tougher than I thought. That punch actually stung a bit.
Her watch beeped sharply, an automated voice chiming: Health at 2,370.
Saki's eyes widened slightly. "I lost thirty health from a punch that I blocked? Holy shit…" she hissed aloud, her voice mixing disbelief with excitement. A grin tugged at her lips as her eyes gleamed with battle-fueled adrenaline. "I can't play around with you then, can I?"
Nemesis only growled in response, the word guttural and filled with venom: "STAAARS!"
Saki tilted her head, smirking with mocking amusement. "Oh yeah, that's right… you can't talk."
In a blur of motion, she rushed forward again. Her fists became a storm, a relentless flurry of rapid punches slamming into his torso with bone-shattering force. Each blow cracked and splintered his monstrous frame, the sound of breaking bones echoing like snapping branches in the silence of the ruined city.
Finally, she drew back and unleashed a brutal finishing strike to his sternum. The crunch of breaking bone rang out as it snapped in half, the sheer force of the blow sending him sliding backwards across the pavement.
Nemesis collapsed to his knees, blood spewing from his mouth as he coughed violently. His glowing eyes burned with raw hatred as he stared up at Saki, trembling but refusing to fall completely, consumed by rage at the girl who dared to bring him down.
Then Saki laughed and said "Come on, big guy, you can do better than that, can't you?"
Nemesis staggered back to his feet, his grotesque muscles flexing as he let out a furious roar before charging at her once again. As his hulking form thundered forward, Saki sprinted toward him head-on,with her eyes narrowed. At the last second, she leaped high, vaulting clean over his massive shoulders with grace.
But Nemesis wasn't done. With surprising speed, he spun around, a thick, pulsating tentacle shooting out from his arm. It lashed through the air like a whip and wrapped tightly around Saki's leg, jerking her to a stop mid-flight.
"Oh, fuck—!" Saki yelped, eyes widening in shock.
Nemesis roared with savage delight and slammed her down into a nearby car, the impact detonating glass and metal as she crashed straight through it. The vehicle crumpled like paper under the monstrous force, leaving her sprawled in the wreckage.
As she groaned and dragged herself free from the twisted frame, her watch beeped coldly: Health at 2,200.
"...Ow," Saki muttered weakly, rubbing her side with a wince as she stood and shook off the dust. She glared up at Nemesis, who loomed over her. His massive chest heaved as he emitted a raspy, unnatural sound—a broken, grating noise that, to her suprise, sounded almost like laughter.
Saki sneered, brushing debris from her hair as she snapped, "So, you can only say one fucking word, yet you've got enough intelligence to hold a grudge? Figures."
"STAAARS…" Nemesis growled back, the single word heavy and deliberate, as though confirming her accusation.
"You know what?" Saki exhaled sharply, cracking her knuckles with a dark grin. "I'm done with this. You go away now—I'll kill you later."
Nemesis roared in defiance and hurled his tentacle at her again, the whip-like appendage slicing through the air. But this time Saki stood her ground, her expression fierce and unyielding. She raised her arm and let the slimy appendage coil around her wrist, then clenched her fist tightly.
With a sudden surge of power, she yanked hard, muscles straining as she lifted the colossal monster clean off the ground. Nemesis bellowed in fury as Saki spun in place, faster and faster, the wind howling with each rotation as his massive body became nothing more than a blur.
"G'night, asshole!" she shouted, grinning wildly.
With one final heave, she released him, sending his enormous form hurtling into the distance. Nemesis soared through the air before vanishing beyond the skyline with a thunderous crash.
Dusting off her hands, Saki let out a small, satisfied huff and smirked. "Jill should be done any minute now."
After Jill got the power back on, she and Saki made their way back to the train control station. Jill quickly plotted a course for the evacuation train to safely leave the city, her hands moving swiftly across the controls. Once the route was locked in, the two of them headed back toward the station.
But just as they were descending the stairs to board the train, a massive roar echoed through the underground.
"STAAAAAAAARS!"
The heavy, thunderous thumps of Nemesis's approaching footsteps shook the floor beneath them. Jill's eyes widened, her breath catching in her throat.
"You two go!" Jill shouted, voice cracking with urgency. "It's me he wants!"
Only to be shocked as Saki suddenly grabbed her by the arm, yanking her back. Saki then dove under the closing security gate, rolling smoothly across the floor before it slammed shut with a metallic clang. She stood and smirked at Jill through the bars, eyes burning with determination.
"Actually… it's me he wants now."
Jill's heart sank. "Saki, what are you talking about?! Get back here! Carlos, open this gate!"
Carlos stepped forward, reaching for the control panel—only to freeze as he saw a knife stabbed straight into it, sparks flying as the console short-circuited.
"All I gotta do is lure him to the other side of the city and ditch him," Saki said firmly, her tone cold but resolute. "Then I'll head to the police station. There's bound to be other survivors there—I'll guide them here for the next train. Take care now."
Before Jill or Carlos could react, Saki turned and sprinted up the stairs, the heavy sound of Nemesis's stomping growing louder with every step.
"Saki, come back!" Jill screamed after her, but Saki was already out of sight.
At the top entrance of the station, Saki found Nemesis looming, his hulking frame filling the doorway as he prepared to descend. She met his hateful glare with a sharp grin.
"Follow me, big guy," she called, her voice dripping with challenge.
Nemesis roared and stomped after her. Saki led him out of the station and into a wide-open clearing, the perfect battleground. Her hand flashed, pulling her odachi from her inventory in one fluid motion. She held the gleaming blade at her side and narrowed her eyes, her tone deadly serious.
"Alright—enough messing around, big guy. Time to die. I'll kill you before you can evolve."
Nemesis bellowed and hurled his tentacle toward her, the grotesque appendage whipping through the air, aimed directly for her heart. But Saki's blade was faster—she slashed clean through it, the severed tentacle writhing as black ichor sprayed across the pavement.
With a burst of speed, she rushed forward, her sword singing as she cut deep into his shoulder, severing his massive arm. Nemesis roared in agony, stumbling as his blood splattered across the ground. He tried to retaliate, swinging wildly at her, but Saki ducked low and sliced upward with precision—cleaving off his left leg in a single, brutal motion.
The monster toppled with a thunderous crash, howling in pain. Without hesitation, Saki leaped onto his writhing body, her eyes cold and merciless. She went to work with grim efficiency, dismembering him piece by piece. His remaining arm—gone. His other leg—severed. Then, with one powerful swing, she decapitated him, his grotesque head rolling across the ground. Still unsatisfied, she split his torso clean in half, then sliced through his head again, carving it into two ragged pieces.
Finally, for good measure, she continued hacking until Nemesis was reduced to a grotesque pile of mangled chunks. Breathing heavily, her expression unreadable, Saki doused the remains with gasoline, flicked her lighter, and set the heap ablaze.
Flames roared to life, the burning stench of charred flesh filling the night air. Saki sat off to the side, her blade across her lap, and silently watched as the fire consumed what was left of him.
At last, her watch let out a familiar ding, and glowing text appeared on its display:

Saki glanced at her watch as the update flashed across the glowing display. A grin tugged at her lips, her eyes gleaming with excitement.
"Okay… Good Samaritan is alright, but the LZ Answerer?" she said, practically buzzing with anticipation. "That's basically an off-brand lightsaber, so yeah—I'll enjoy getting my hands on that."
She tilted her head, noting the stat increase, and smirked. "And apparently, killing Nemesis gave me another five percent familiarity."
Tapping the edge of her watch with satisfaction, she straightened up, rolling her shoulders to work out the lingering ache of battle.
"Alright—time to head over to the police station. I'll clean house while I wait for Leon and Claire to show up."
