Chapter 5 - CHAPTER 5 - HIS KARMA

By 6 pm the following day, everyone waited for her arrival at the location she had given them. It was an old abandoned warehouse at the end of a quiet street.

Her car pulled over, and she strolled into the warehouse with majesty. Everyone fell silent as they recognized her presence. They were in awe. Mrs Hale, standing before them in black leather pants, a black leather hooded jacket, a nose mask, and her heeled boots, was totally different from the person they met yesterday. The fierce look in her eyes was nothing like the calm welcoming look she had on her face the previous day.

Rafi drew out a chair at the head of the table and she sat graciously. Everyone took their seats only after she was seated. Although they were all nobles, her presence demanded extreme respect surpassing any and all of them.

"Mrs Hale really is a criminal". Marcus spoke with a smirk on his face while he narrowed his eyes.

Zyra looked in his direction before speaking.

"Whatever Mrs Hale has to be to get whatever she wants she will be". She turned over to Rafi.

"Is everything set?".

"Yes, boss". Rafi replied spreading the blueprint of the bank on the table.

"Great".

Everyone repositioned themselves on their seats, prepared for business.

"Each one of you will be assigned your roles today". Everyone nodded in agreement.

"Steven and Audrey, both of you, would work from the outside. Steven, you'll only have to do what you love doing the most, and you'll get everyone except Marcus and Rafi in and out. You'll remain in the packing lot with Audrey".

"Cool, so I only need to drive". He nodded understanding his assignment.

"Audrey, you have to hack into their security systems and make sure none of our operations are caught on camera".

"Perfect".

"Brenda your skills are needed to crack into three safes in the building. We need to get out with the content in those safes.".

Brenda simply nodded her head.

"Marcus. For the love you have for stollen items, you and Rafi are in charge of moving the gold to the truck. M&B is a gold bank not a money bank. Emma you drive the second truck to safety after playing distraction at the bank".

"Perfect". Marcus smirked with a glimpse of pleasure in his eyes.

"I'm glad we all understand our roles, so we can discuss our strategy". Zyra went further to explain to them the plan with the help of the blueprint.

After all was said and done everyone was given a chance to speak.

"How long do we have for the whole heist?". Marcus asked this time a bit more seriously.

"We have 10 minutes once we've gotten into the bank".

"I might not be able to hack the security system that easily from the information I see here it's quite strong I'll need to rewrite their codes and that means I need my flashdrive in their system so I can hack in". Audrey spoke a bit unconfident.

"How about the street camera's?". Zyra asked.

"I can access those from my father's house". She spoke confidently.

Zyra sat back for a while in thought before speaking.

"Brenda we might need you for an extra role".

Brenda looked over to Zyra and finally spoke.

"I don't have a problem with that. But then, the boys won't they be recognized? Especially Marcus he's a popular figure there's no way he wouldn't be recognized".

"I've got that under control". She sat back relaxing her back on the chair.

"Are there any more questions? Or everyone understands their roles?". Everyone fell silent. It was obvious they understood their roles and they put faith in the heist.

"Well since everyone understands their roles. The meeting is dismissed. Thursday 2 pm, M&B bank is going to realize that there are better ways to play this game".

She stood up and turned to leave but she was stopped in her step by Marcus's question.

"What role are you going to play?".

"His karma. That's the role I'm already playing". She gave him that fierce look again and walked off.

The waters splashed hard against the river bed were the little girl ran around playing. The waves continued to hit the shore each time more violent. The little girl noticed it and stood still watching the waves until it swept her into the water body. She sunk deeper and deeper hearing the whisper.

"Don't go, stay. Lilith stay, My little one, you belong here stay. LILITH, LILITH, LILITH, LILITH STAY". The call of her name getting louder and louder.

Zyra's eyes flew open as she jerked up on the bed trying to catch her breath. She coughed and coughed patting her chest, her heart raced. Her sudden movement had alerted Victor who was sleeping beside her.

He hurriedly turned her a glass of water from the jug on the bed side table and handed it to her. As she drank he patted her back lightly.

She gulped down the water in the glass and returned it to Victor who kept it back on the bed side table.

"Hey, Zy, hope you're feeling a bit better?". He asked after sitting beside her in silence for a short while.

"Yeah". She spoke running her fingers through on her forehead.

"Was it a bad dream?". Victor asked her concerned.

"I don't know what it was".

"Tell me about it".

"I was playing at the river bed as a kid. My Mom used to take me there sometimes, but this time it was just me and the water became violent. It swept me in and I could hear the whisper call out Lilith, Lilith stay you belong here as I sank deeper and deeper. It was terrifying I had to get out then I woke up. I don't understand". She spoke breathing heavily.

"Who's Lilith?".

"I am Lilith. That's the name my parents gave me. Mr Veyron was the one who named me Zyra after he picked me from the bank".

"Could it be a sign".

"What sign?".

"I don't know Zy. I'm as confused as you are right now. But are you sure you were born hearing the whispers?".

She remained silent for a while before speaking.

"I don't know. I've always believed that".

Victor looked at his wife who's mind was disturbed he didn't like seeing her worry too much.

"Come on my love. Well think about this later. For now you have to get some rest don't worry I'm here I'll hold you close until the end of time". He held firmly against his chest as he layed down patting her to fall asleep.

"Thank you Vee". She shut her eyes again this time more confidently. She always appreciated Victor's every move to protect her.

Victor stayed up till he was sure she had fallen asleep.

The following day Victor had to hurry off to work. Zyra contacted Rafi to be sure their costumes and vehicles were ready. She wasn't going to let anything stop her from carrying out this plan on Noel Castillo and his family. Not even whatever she saw last night.

Victor came home early that evening but the expression on his face wasn't very bright.

"Vee are you okay?". Zyra asked as she went to welcome her husband.

"Yeah, yeah, I am". He spoke not so confident.

"No you're not". She narrowed her eyes knitting her brows.

"Why can I get in your head. You're scared why?".

"I don't know how to tell you".

"Tell me what?".

"My father's mistress requested to come home with her daughter".

"Why?".

"She said it was wrong that she hadn't seen her husbands son since he past".

"Is that supposed to be a problem?".

"I don't know".

Zyra went silent for a while darting her eyes before replying.

"Okay".

"Okay what?".

"Whatever you want, do you want them to come over or?...". She didn't have to complete her statement for him to understand.

"I don't know she was my father's property and my father was a good man I think it would be right to take care of what is his".

"Okay then let them come".

"Really?"

"Yeah".

"Thanks".

"So you have a sister?". She asked him a rhetorical question.

"I don't. She's my father's mistress's daughter".

"Mm. Whatever. You're scared of your wife". She teased him.

He grabbed her by the waist holding her very close to himself.

"Oh yes, my wife's a very fierce tigeress". He spoke in very romantic whispers loud enough for her to hear.

She smiled and he placed a soft kiss on the cap of her nose before letting her go and going upstairs to freshen up.
