Chapter 5 - Devil's What Now.

The next day, Infront of Yasaka home was 4 people, one was Serafall and other do.

One was a handsome, young-looking man with shoulder-length crimson red hair and blue-green eyes, inherited from his father.

Next to him was another man, handsome, young man with slicked-back, light blue-green hair and piercing blue eyes, creating a mysterious and alluring appearance that he himself notes gives him a "devilish" aura.

[Insert image of Ajuka Beelzebub]

Finally was the last man, is a tall man whose head is completely bald and has a goatee on his chin.

[Insert image of Falbium]

As all 4 of them where bowing, as they looked at Yasaka and Lily

Sirzech was the first to speak. "We would, as the 4 Satan like too Apologize".

Yasaka narrows her eyes as she spoke. "Apologize? Apologize? Your own people have killed 20% of tbr Nekoshou in 1 Night, if we didn't decide to check up on then, it would have been a full Genocide of an Yokai race".

Lily spoke coldy as she fixed her glasses. "Which would have lead too a war between us, and you devil's are still recovering from the civil war with the Old Satan Faction Correct".

Sirzech's smile faltered at Lily's words, his eyes softening but his voice measured.

"You are correct. That is why we are here personally, rather than sending messengers. This… incident was not sanctioned by us. Rogue nobles sought vengeance without council approval."

Ajuka adjusted his glasses, voice calm but with a sharp edge. "And they overstepped. Their actions have destabilized delicate politics we've spent decades repairing. I've already begun dismantling the assets of the Naberius line involved."

Falbium sighed, looking more exhausted than the others. "Do you think we want another war when we've barely healed from the last? We would gain nothing but corpses."

Yasaka's tails swayed behind her, her eyes glowing faintly golden. "And yet, you nearly lost more than just Nekoshou. If not for me and Lily, word would have spread among every Yokai clan by now. They would call it what it was — genocide. Do you think my people would sit idle?"

The silence hung heavy, broken only by Lily's voice, quiet but razor sharp. "And don't mistake it — we would not have stood alone. The Shinto gods do not ignore their kin. Even the Shogunate of Kyoto would have taken up arms. You four wouldn't be apologizing — you'd be planning how to survive."

Serafall bit her lip, her usual cheer gone, her voice low. "...That's exactly why I forced them to come. Not just to apologize, but to show sincerity. We will punish the Naberius — publicly. And we will grant reparations to the Nekoshou survivors. That is my promise as Leviathan."

Yasaka's voice carried the weight of centuries, each word deliberate, her tails fanning out like a wall of firelight behind her. "I will make this simple. Four conditions, and not a single one less.

1. Any and all surviving Nekoshou will belong to the Yokai Faction. They will live under our protection, free from further Devil interference.

2. I expect binding guarantees against any future attacks. If even a single claw of my people is harmed by another reckless noble, Kyoto will not remain silent.

3. No Devil will ever add a Yokai to their Peerage again. The ones already bound may remain, but know this: they will be monitored. If they are abused, neglected, or treated as tools, we will take them back.

4. Finally—find the girl, Kuroka. Yes, she killed her master. But there are always two sides to a story, and I want hers. She will be brought to me alive. No assassins, no executions in the dark. Am I understood?"

Her words struck like hammer blows. The Yokai guards behind her stiffened with pride, tails bristling, as if ready to fight the Satans themselves if they refused.

Sirzechs was the first to respond, lowering his head, his crimson hair catching the light. "...We cannot deny the gravity of your demands. On behalf of the Devil Faction, I accept the first condition without hesitation. The Nekoshou will be yours to protect. It is the least we can offer."

Ajuka's eyes glowed faintly as magic circles spun in his pupils. He spoke with the precision of a mathematician. "The second and third will require formal contracts and seals. But if you wish guarantees, then you shall have them. I will personally craft the pacts so they cannot be broken."

Falbium, who had been quiet, finally sighed. "...The third condition will be controversial. Many clans will resist losing access to Yokai bloodlines. But if it keeps peace between our peoples, then it will stand."

Serafall looked most conflicted at the fourth condition, her hands gripping her skirt.

"Kuroka... is already marked as a criminal. If I bring her to you alive, it will make me enemies even among my own. But—" she forced a smile, eyes glistening with determination, "—you're my friend, Yasaka. I'll make it happen. You'll hear her truth."

Yasaka's gaze softened, if only slightly, as she gave a slow nod. "Then we are in agreement. See to it that your words match your actions. I will not accept empty promises. The next time such a massacre happens..."

She leaned forward, eyes flashing gold, tails flaring like a storm. "...you will not see me as a friend, but as the Nine-Tailed Fox of Kyoto."

The Satans all bowed again, the weight of her warning heavy in the air.

Meanwhile, unknown to them, Nate was listening from the shadows, his back pressed against a wooden beam. He had originally thought his warning would work, that the Yokai and Devils would intervene early enough to save Kuroka and Koneko from tragedy. But as the conversation unfolded, his heart sank.

The truth hit harder than a blade: events had already slipped out of his grasp.

A massacre had already occurred.

Twenty percent.

That number repeated in his head like a curse. Twenty percent of the Nekoshou gone in a single night. Hundreds of lives erased, entire families reduced to ash and memory. His chest tightened as he gritted his teeth.

'I tried… but this still happened. I only changed how much… not if.'

He had expected small deviations, but this? This was a butterfly effect writ large, and it muddied everything. The clear path of the future he thought he knew was beginning to blur. If such a drastic shift had already happened, then what else had changed? How much of his knowledge was now unreliable?

Then Yasaka's voice cut through his doubts like steel.

Her conditions, her demands.

Ownership and protection of survivors.

No more Yokai in peerages.

Accountability.

And Kuroka's trial.

Nate's eyes widened as he realized just how big this ripple could grow. Yasaka's words weren't just negotiations— they were seeds of a new power balance. If this agreement held, the Devil-Yokai relationship would never be the same. And that meant… whole arcs of the future might derail.

He pressed a hand against his forehead, the weight of guilt gnawing at him.

'Still… twenty percent… that's too many. Did I really save anything? Did I really do the right thing? Or did I just delay the inevitable…?'

A chill ran through him, not from the air, but from the creeping thought that maybe—just maybe—he wasn't as prepared to play with fate as he believed.

Nate slowly rose from his crouched position, the shadows no longer feeling like a shield but a weight pressing down on him. His fists trembled—not from fear, but from the sheer frustration of knowing that despite everything he had tried, tragedy had still struck.

He closed his eyes, inhaling deeply, steadying his heart.

"I can't… I can't keep relying on the future I thought I knew. It's already slipping away."

Opening his eyes, a new fire burned there. Determination.

"I guess… this is the truth of it," Nate muttered under his breath, his voice low but firm. "If I want to stop this from ever happening again, I can't just watch from the sidelines. I need to get stronger. Strong enough that no one can question it, strong enough to change fate itself…"

He straightened his back, shoulders squared, and clenched his fists.

'Because I am the future Yokai King.'

The words hung in the air like a vow.

With that, Nate turned and began walking away from Yasaka's estate, his steps heavy but purposeful. His hand moved to his pocket, fingers brushing against the charm that linked him to Lie-in Heart.

"Training starts again," he whispered to himself. "No excuses, no hesitation. If fate is going to throw me off balance… then I'll just make my own future."

And with that, he vanished into the streets, ready to call upon his companion and continue the path that would one day lead him to the throne of the Yokai.

Few minutes later, Nate was training with Lie-in Heart, as this time he was keeping up with his teacher, what ever happened yesterday was somewhat repeating.

He was moving, some embers were on his feet, as there was something else Ice, as he moved with Lie-in Heart.

Lie-in Heart looked at him as he spoke. "You have improved well, young master".

Nate looked at him as he spoke. "Tha-".

He was cut as he was picked up and hugged as he heard squill. "Aww, Who's this Adorable kid training with the Yokai, Yasaka?".

Nate felt his face ea barried between something soft, which by the voice of person, he already was sure what they were

Yasaka voice then came. "That's Lily Son, Serafall".

Nate Blinked, as he realized who was hugging him, as he spoke in his head. 'I am beigg hugged by DxD Magical Girl!!?'.

Serafall looked down at Nate as she blinked, as she looked at Lily, as anien tears come down. "He looks 6, you didn't tell me you had kid for 6 year's?".

Nate's muffled voice came out from where his face was buried.

"C-can't… breathe…"

Lie-in Heart just folded his arms, amused, though his spectral eyes softened with the faintest sympathy. "Young master, it seems you've encountered your first real trial."

Yasaka sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. "Serafall, you're going to suffocate him if you keep squeezing like that."

Serafall blinked, loosening her grip slightly—but still holding Nate close as if he were a plush toy. Her watery eyes turned toward Lily, lower lip trembling.

"Lilyyyy~! You didn't tell me you had a son for six years! Do you know how betrayed I feel right now!?"

Lily pushed her glasses up with a sharp click, utterly unbothered.

"…That's because I didn't have a son for six years. He's only six now."

"B-but… but… he looks so precious…!" Serafall whined, spinning Nate around like she was showing off a stuffed animal at a convention. "Look at those cheeks! Look at that pout! And—oh my Maou—are those embers on his feet!? He's like a tiny magical boy!"

Nate, dizzy from being twirled, thought to himself in panic:

'Okay, okay, keep it together. Don't freak out. I'm being hugged by the Magical Girl of DxD herself. This is either the best day of my new life… or the most humiliating.'

Finally, Yasaka raised a hand, her tone firm. "Serafall. Put him down before he bursts into flames—or worse, ice.

Serafall, still holding Nate tight like a life-sized teddy bear, spun dramatically toward Lily, tears sparkling in her eyes.

"But whhyyy didn't you tell me for six years!? You clearly gave birth to him! You clearly raised him! My best friend—hiding something this important from me!"

Nate tried to speak, voice muffled against Serafall's chest. "Mmmph—I'm—seriously—gonna—"

Lily calmly adjusted her glasses and pointed a single, perfectly manicured finger at Serafall.

"That's why."

Serafall froze mid-spin, blinking. "…Eh?"

Lily's tone was flat, her eyes gleaming with dry irritation.

"If I had told you I had a son, you would have done exactly this. Every. Single. Day. I would never get a moment of peace. Neither would Nate. Or Yasaka. Or the entire Kyoto faction."

Yasaka, arms crossed, gave a long-suffering sigh. "She's not wrong, Serafall."

Serafall puffed her cheeks like a sulking child, hugging Nate closer. "Mou~! But look at him! He's so small and squishy! How can I not smother him with love!?"

Nate groaned, face red as his arms flailed. "I-I'm not small and squishy! I'm training to be strong! I'm gonna be the future Yokai King!"

That only made Serafall's eyes sparkle brighter. She lifted him into the air, spinning again like she was presenting him to the heavens.

"Eeeeeh!? He even says cool heroic things like a shounen protagonist! Lily, how dare you hide this treasure from me! He's like—he's like—our own little magical boy!"

Lily rubbed her temple, muttering. "And this is why I didn't say anything."

Lie-in Heart, watching from the side, simply muttered with a straight face:

"…This battle, young master, you cannot win."

Serafall spinned around Nate. "He calls him self the Future Yokai King, how cute, like you Lily".

Serafall looked at him as she giggled. "It's good to dream, but thag title is only for the Child of Prophecy ok".

Lily sighed as she spoke. "Well Sera, her's another reason, and we need you too keep this secret from the other devil, but he is the prophecy child of the Yokai".

Serafall blinked. Once. Twice. Her mind stalled like a broken record.

"Eh…?" she squeaked, staring at Lily like she'd just announced the sky was green. "Ehhhhh!? He—he—he's what!?"

Nate tilted his head, confused at the sudden shift in the magical girl's mood. "Uh… something wrong, Miss Serafall?"

Serafall pointed at him with both hands, shaking so much her twin-tails bounced like whips.

"W-w-wait, this kid, this adorable little bun-bun I just spun around like a magical mascot—he's the Child of Prophecy!? The one all the Yokai elders freak out about in every meeting Yasaka drags me into!?"

Yasaka sighed deeply, folding her arms. "Yes. And before you ask, no, you may not broadcast this on Magical☆Sera☆Channel."

Serafall pouted. "Awww, come on! Think of the ratings—"

Lily's glare was sharp enough to cut through dimensions. "Sera."

The Maou froze mid-sentence, then coughed, trying to compose herself, though her wide eyes kept flicking back to Nate. "…So you're telling me, the prophecy child—future King of the Yokai—is this… smol, fluffy, soft-cheeked cinnamon roll?"

Nate, face red, clenched his tiny fists. "I-I'm not fluffy! I'm strong!" He stomped a foot, a faint ember sparking under it.

Serafall squealed and clasped her cheeks. "He even does dramatic foot stomps with fire sparks! LILY, HE'S TOO CUTE TO BE A KING!"

Lily pinched the bridge of her nose. "And this is exactly why I didn't tell you for six years."

Serafall puffed out her chest proudly, planting her fists on her hips. "Fine then! If he really is the Child of Prophecy, then it's settled! From this day forth, I, Serafall Leviathan, the Maou of Magic, the cutest magical girl in the Underworld, will personally be his Magical Big Sister Protector! No harm shall ever—"

"Denied."

Serafall froze mid-pose. "…Eh?"

Lily's glasses gleamed as she cut in, her tone calm but absolute. "My son already has more than enough protection. I carry the Yokai Medals of my companions at all times."

She raised her watch and tapped it once. A faint glow pulsed through the metal disks.

"One command, and I can summon Lie-in Heart, Blazion, Shadow Venoct, Komashura, and a dozen more elite Yokai—each capable of tearing through armies."

Nate's eyes sparkled. "Mom flexing mode activated."

Serafall's jaw dropped. "Wha—?! A full squad of top-tier Yokai bodyguards!? That's cheating! That's like having a magical girl team… but all the magical girls are kaiju!"

Lily adjusted her glasses again, smirking faintly. "So you see, Sera, your… overenthusiastic services are unnecessary."

Serafall collapsed to her knees, dramatically clutching her chest. "Rejected by my future little brother before I even got started…!"

Nate, watching the over-the-top display, muttered in his head. 'Does she always act like this? And wait—did she just say "future little brother"?? Oh no…'.

Serafall straightened herself, her usual bubbly aura dimmed, voice carrying the weight of her position. "Still, I would like to apologize for the Nekoshou massacre. As one of the Four Satans, the failure of my people is also my failure."

Lily let out a slow sigh, folding her arms. "Serafall, our problem was never with you personally. You can't be everywhere at once. We understand that. But understand this—our anger lies with the devils who carried out the act, and with the system that allowed it to happen in the first place."

Her glasses caught the light as she leaned forward slightly, tone firm. "That said, you and the other three Satans coming here, listening, and agreeing to our demands shows that you're willing to take responsibility. That's more than your predecessors ever did."

Yasaka, standing beside her, added with a sharp edge in her voice. "But words won't be enough, Serafall. The Yokai won't forget what happened. Action is what will prevent war—and what will prove whether your apology has meaning."

Serafall nodded slowly, her usual carefree smile absent. "I understand. Then I'll do more than just apologize. I'll personally make sure the Naberius line is investigated, and those responsible face judgment. If the Yokai are to trust us, we need to show that this won't be brushed aside."

Lily exchanged a glance with Yasaka, then nodded. "Good. Because if you don't… it won't just be the devils who'll bleed."

Nate, listening quietly in Serafall arms, thought grimly to himself. 'Yeah, Mom's scary when she gets serious… and Serafall, you might be future harem material, but right now, you're one wrong move away from getting drop-kicked by every Yokai in Kyoto.'

Serafall's lips puckered for a moment before her trademark sparkle returned full force. She spun on her heel, finger pointed dramatically at Nate like she was about to declare the start of a magical girl transformation. "Still! Can I pleeeease take care of this little one? Just for a day? I'll make sure he's safe, and I'll even buy him ice cream! Magical Girl Serafall guarantees it!"

Nate blinked up at her, deadpan. 'Oh no. She's serious. And she's looking at me like I'm a puppy.'

Before he could say anything, Lily adjusted her glasses and cut her off with the cold precision of a guillotine. "Denied."

Serafall's entire body slumped like a deflated balloon. "Eeeeh?! Denied?! Why?!"

Lily didn't even blink. "Because the last time you said 'I'll take care of it,' we found you filming a magical girl skit in front of the Underworld's treasury with actual taxpayer money props."

Nate snorted, covering his mouth to hide his laugh, while Yasaka sighed and rubbed her temple.

Serafall pouted, crossing her arms under her chest. "That was one time…"

Lily raised an eyebrow. "Three times, Sera."

Nate whispered in his head. 'I can't believe the magical girl of the devil race is basically a giant child… and my mom just grounded her.'
