Chapter 16 - Addicted to the Internet

Loki spent a while with the four cosplayers, then left them reluctantly. Before they parted, the girls invited Loki to hang out the next day, but Loki put them off. After they were out of her sight, she said meaningfully, "You seem to be hiding a lot from me."

Emiya smiled. "Some things are too complicated to explain, so I was too lazy to. If you want to listen, I can explain."

Loki was noncommittal.

Emiya said, "Let's walk and talk."

She nodded. Emiya walked beside her, explaining, "In our world, there is a light novel called Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?. This novel tells the story of the labyrinth city of Orario. Many characters appear in the story, including your Familia, Lady Loki."

"Later, this light novel was adapted into a manga and anime, and the characters look exactly like you."

As he spoke, he opened a web page on his phone, searched for information about the DanMachi world, and handed it to Loki.

With Emiya's explanation, Loki quickly figured out how to use the phone and began to read the information about DanMachi with great interest.

Emiya didn't bother her and just walked silently beside her.

After a while, Loki raised her hand and shook the phone. "What's this thing called?"

"A phone. Like the electric light, it's one of the greatest inventions of humanity," Emiya said calmly.

"An interesting thing. I want one too."

"No problem, but this thing needs to be connected to the internet and can only be used in our world. If we go back to Orario, many of its functions will be unusable, but some basic functions will still work, which is very convenient."

"Is that so? Give me your hand."

"Why?" Although Emiya asked, he still extended his hand.

Loki smiled and held Emiya's hand. A few seconds later, she let go of his hand and said with a look of realization, "I see. I get it. Buy me a phone. Besides that, I also want a refrigerator, a washing machine, an air conditioner, an induction cooker, a microwave, an oven, a TV, and a game console..."

A series of appliances came out of Loki's mouth, leaving Emiya dumbfounded. "Holy crap, mind reading?"

Logically, Loki should have no idea what these things were, as she had just arrived in this world.

But she was now talking about them as if she knew all about them, which was unbelievable.

Emiya couldn't help but remember the moment she had held his hand.

"Sort of," Loki said. "But don't worry, I'm not interested in your memories. I just read some basic knowledge about this world."

Emiya couldn't help but rub his temples and let out a wry laugh. "Alright."

Since things had come to this, what could he do? Besides, some things were too much of a hassle to explain one by one, so it was easier to let Loki read them directly.

As for her saying she didn't read his memories, Emiya believed her. Loki was a goddess, after all, and she wouldn't lie to him about something like that.

"Let's go buy a phone first." Emiya happened to see a phone store on the left side of the commercial street and led Loki inside.

Loki smiled and patted Emiya on the shoulder. "Don't worry, you won't lose out. In exchange, I'll give you a little something."

Emiya was a bit startled. Loki took three steps and outpaced Emiya, walking into the phone store first. Emiya had no choice. He wanted her to be more specific.

What "little something" was she talking about?

When he walked into the store, Loki had already picked up the latest Apple phone from a clerk and was playing with it expertly.

It was hard to imagine that just a few minutes ago, this girl didn't even know what a phone was. Gods were truly unimaginable creatures.

"Pay up," Loki said, seeing Emiya walk in. She spoke straightforwardly, without any embarrassment. This was perfectly normal.

Loki established a Familia and gave Grace to humans or demihumans, and in return, the adventurers in the Familia supported her.

This was the normal way a Familia operated. In fact, this was the case for all Familias in Orario. If you weren't willing to support your god, why would they accept you into their Familia and grant you Grace?

So when Loki asked for a phone, Emiya agreed almost without thinking. After all, he had received her Grace, so paying a little money was nothing.

After paying, Loki got her phone. Emiya then registered a new SIM card under his name and gave it to Loki.

Even a god could not resist the world of the internet. Loki quickly became addicted to it and didn't even want to go shopping anymore.

Emiya sighed as he watched her walk and scroll on her phone. He could already see a future where Loki was hopelessly addicted to the internet.

If Orario had the internet, Loki would probably become the new otaku girl.

Who was the last angel to come into contact with human society, get hooked on the internet, and become an otaku? Gabriel White Tenma, the top student of the angel school.

It seemed very likely that Loki would follow in Gabriel's footsteps. The internet was a terrible thing.

Since she was so engrossed in the internet, Loki lost all interest in shopping, so the two of them quickly left the Magic City and returned to Emiya's home.

And when I say quickly, I mean it was really fast. The two of them found a deserted spot, and Loki took Emiya with her.

In the blink of an eye, they were back home from the Magic City. It was practically teleportation.

Emiya couldn't help but sigh. Gods with divine power were truly all-powerful. They could even do this. They were worthy of being called gods.

After returning home, Loki wouldn't let go of her phone for even a moment.

She was also giggling to herself from time to time, looking like an idiot. Of course, Emiya only thought this to himself and didn't say it out loud.

With Loki addicted to the internet, Emiya had nothing to do. He had originally planned to go back to Orario to check out the dungeon, but after thinking it over, he gave up on the idea.

He didn't disturb Loki either and just started scrolling on his own phone. As the night grew deeper, Emiya unknowingly fell asleep.

...

When he woke up, it was already morning. Loki was still holding her phone, lost in the world of the internet, but the phone was connected to a charger.

It seemed she had been playing all night. Emiya looked at Loki's face, and it was still flushed and full of energy, with no signs of having stayed up all night.

But on second thought, she was a goddess.

As long as she was protected by divine power, she wouldn't die from staying up all night, let alone for a few nights. Having divine power was that easy.

Seeing how engrossed Loki was, Emiya thought for a moment, then activated his traversal ability.

The next second, he was in the Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma world. His destination, of course, was Erina Nakiri's room.

It was daytime in Emiya's world, but it was nighttime in the Food Wars! world.

Erina Nakiri wasn't in her room, so she must still be at the training camp. Emiya opened the door and walked out, looking around the Tootsuki Resort, which was a very large resort.

Emiya walked around for a while but couldn't find Erina Nakiri.

He unexpectedly ran into a burly man who looked like a fitness trainer.

But in reality, this man was not a fitness trainer; he was a master chef. Gin Dojima, the highest-scoring graduate in Tootsuki's history and the first seat of the 69th Generation of the Tootsuki Elite Ten.

After graduating, he had rejected invitations from 800 famous restaurants nationwide and chose to work at the Tootsuki Resort, causing a sensation at the time.

He was the pinnacle of all graduates. He was revered by graduates like Kojiro Shinomiya, Fuyumi Mizuhara, and Hinako Inui.

And yet, this was the same man who had once told Soma Yukihira to his face that Erina Nakiri, with her "God's Tongue," would be the strongest monster in Tootsuki's history once she graduated.

When Emiya saw Gin Dojima, he also saw Emiya. But he just thought Emiya was a tourist at the Tootsuki Resort and didn't pay him any mind.

After all, he didn't know Emiya, and there were so many guests at the resort that it was impossible to know all of them.

"Stop for a second." Just as they were about to pass each other, Emiya suddenly called out to Gin Dojima.

Gin Dojima stopped and turned to look at Emiya. "Is there something you need, sir?"

"Where is Erina Nakiri?" Emiya asked.

Gin Dojima was slightly surprised. He looked Emiya up and down and asked, "Do you know Miss Erina Nakiri?"

"Yes, I know her. I've been looking for her, but I haven't been able to find her." Emiya said.

Gin Dojima said, "Miss Erina Nakiri should be in her assessment right now. If you want to see her, you might have to wait a little while."

Emiya thought about it and nodded. He had originally planned to bring Erina Nakiri back to cook a meal for Loki to see if she would also bestow Grace upon her.

But now that he saw Gin Dojima, he suddenly changed his mind.

"If I'm not mistaken, Kojiro Shinomiya is having a shokugeki with Soma Yukihira and Megumi Tadokoro tonight, right?"

Gin Dojima looked at Emiya with some su

rprise. "You're very well-informed, sir." He had tried to keep the news of this shokugeki under wraps.

"You could say that. I'm going to bring some guests to this shokugeki tonight and act as judges. Is that a problem?" Emiya asked.

Gin Dojima instinctively wanted to refuse.

This was just a private shokugeki, and he didn't want to bring in outsiders, especially strangers whose origins were unknown.

But as he was about to speak, he found his mouth was being covered by an invisible force.

In an instant, Gin Dojima was filled with great terror.
