Chapter 31 - Shopping

"For a new adventurer entering the dungeon for the first time, this is indeed a lot," Eina explained.

She had never seen a new adventurer who harvested so much on their first trip to the dungeon. "If you don't mind me asking, how far did you go today, Mr. Emiya?"

"The eighth floor."

"What? The eighth floor?!" Eina was astounded. Going to the eighth floor on your first time in the dungeon was way too unbelievable. Was this guy really a new adventurer?

But the name Emiya was truly one she'd never heard before, and since she had processed his registration herself, she was certain that he was a brand-new adventurer.

Yet, for a beginner to reach the eighth floor on their very first run was simply incredible. Just then, Eina's eyes fell on Tiona.

It suddenly clicked. Tiona was a First-Class adventurer of the Loki Familia. With her help and protection, it made sense that a new adventurer could reach the eighth floor.

It was likely that Tiona was responsible for the vast majority of the magic stones.

With that thought, Eina could finally accept the situation.

"Please wait a moment, Mr. Emiya. I'll exchange these for you right away."

After a quick inspection, Eina returned with a bag of money and placed it on the counter. "Mr. Emiya, we've finished calculating. This is your money, a total of 96,000 Valis. Please check it."

"Thank you." Emiya nodded. He didn't bother to check. The Guild wouldn't cheat an adventurer, especially not one from the Loki Familia. There was no need to inspect it.

"All in all, the Dungeon is a very dangerous place. I hope you'll be careful, Mr. Emiya, especially as a new adventurer. Life is precious."

Eina thought for a moment and decided to give Emiya a few words of caution. She couldn't bear the thought of a life being lost in the Dungeon forever due to pride and carelessness.

Other Guild advisors might be able to, as they had grown used to this life. They saw so many adventurers come and go, and many would die before their faces could even be remembered.

Over time, their initial passion had cooled.

But Eina couldn't do that.

"I will," Emiya replied. He didn't tell Eina that he had only entered the Dungeon to experience life as an adventurer and that he likely wouldn't be going back after this one-time experience.

However, he appreciated her good intentions.

After leaving the Guild, Tiona said cheerfully, "What are you going to do now, Rookie? Head back to the base, or do some shopping around here?"

Emiya replied, "I have a place I want to go."

"Oh, okay. Well, good luck, Rookie! I have some things to do, so bye!" With that, Tiona patted Emiya on the shoulder and swiftly left without giving him a chance to object.

Emiya smiled, not trying to keep her. He knew very well that Tiona, a First-Class adventurer, had only gone into the Dungeon with him because Riveria had asked her to.

Otherwise, someone like her would never go to such lengths to protect a mere Level 1 adventurer. Even with the strong bonds within the Loki Familia, they wouldn't be so extravagant as to have a Level 5 adventurer act as a babysitter.

Adventuring was a life of risking death at every turn, where life and death were in the hands of fate. If you died, you had only yourself to blame for not being strong enough or for being too reckless.

Therefore, as soon as Emiya returned from the Dungeon and was out of danger, Tiona couldn't wait to leave and attend to her own affairs.

Half an hour later, Emiya arrived at a bustling commercial street in the Labyrinth City of Orario, the same place he had first arrived in this world. Emiya found his destination in a corner on the street.

"Can I have a portion of fried potato balls?"

That's right, Emiya's purpose in coming here was to buy some fried potato balls. When he first arrived in this world, the street vendor who sold them had given him directions to the Loki Familia's base.

Emiya had promised to support his business in return. So, now that he had earned some money, Emiya was eager to fulfill his promise.

"Hey, it's you, kid!" The vendor broke into a broad smile when he saw Emiya. "Looks like you've become an adventurer!"

"Thanks to you, I joined the Loki Familia."

"Haha, you're amazing, kid! That's the strongest Familia in Orario!"

Even though the vendor wasn't an adventurer, he had heard of the Loki Familia's fame. It wasn't a Familia just anyone could join.

"All right, kid, here are your fried potato balls."

"Thanks." Emiya paid for them, took a bite, and gave a thumbs-up. "Delicious."

"Haha, if you like them, eat more! And be sure to stop by again next time!"

"I will, don't worry."

After saying goodbye to the vendor, Emiya strolled leisurely down the street. Ever since the gods came down, Orario had been built into a leading city over the years.

Emiya had never had the chance to explore this city with its unique, otherworldly atmosphere, so he decided to take this opportunity to enjoy the sights.

As he walked down the wide, clean streets, he saw all sorts of shops on either side. If not for the buildings and people's fantastical appearance, Emiya might have thought he was walking down a modern city street.

This was likely because the Labyrinth City of Orario was incredibly prosperous. As the only city in the world that could export magic stones, it had accumulated immense wealth.

This, combined with the abundance of Familias and adventurers, created this miraculous city.

In this world, the Labyrinth City of Orario was truly one of a kind. This would remain true unless another Dungeon appeared somewhere else in the world, which was impossible.

There was only one Dungeon in the entire world.

With tens of thousands of Valis in his pocket, Emiya's eyes were drawn to a weapon shop. He couldn't help but push the door open and walk inside.

The shop's display cases held a variety of weapons, all with very high price tags.

Emiya was astonished. The cheapest weapons cost hundreds of thousands of Valis, making him, with his 96,000 Valis, a complete pauper.
