Emiya wasn't surprised by this. He was mentally prepared. From what he'd seen, weapons were extremely expensive in the Labyrinth City of Orario.
For example, after meeting Bell, Hestia had to kneel and beg her friend, Hephaestus, to forge a good weapon for him. Seeing Hestia's determination, Hephaestus finally agreed.
Though she didn't use her divine power, she did create a weapon that could grow with Bell, and its value was in the hundreds of millions of Valis.
In another instance, Ais Wallenstein of the Loki Familia had her longsword destroyed during a monster festival organized by Ganesha.
That sword was worth 40 million Valis. It was clear that anything related to adventurers' weapons and armor in the Labyrinth City of Orario was not cheap.
Therefore, a weapon costing a few hundred thousand Valis was, in fact, not expensive.
By the way, these weapons were generally meant for adventurers at Levels 1 or 2. Higher-level adventurers wouldn't use them. Since they ventured to deeper floors and faced more powerful monsters, using a cheap weapon could easily cost them their lives.
Emiya didn't need a weapon because of his telekinesis, but that didn't stop him from appreciating these valuable items.
To be honest, these weapons might be considered low-end in this world, but in a world of martial arts or a regular world, they would be considered divine weapons.
They were at least on par with famous weapons like the Heaven Sword or Dragon-Slaying Saber.
More expensive weapons could completely destroy them.
Of course, weapons in martial arts worlds also had tiers.
While the Heaven Sword and Dragon-Slaying Saber were famous, they were considered low-tier in many martial arts worlds.
Which of the weapons from the Storm Riders world the Peerless Sword, the Unparalleled Sword, the Blood Drinker Sabre, the God-Slaying Blade, the Fire-Lin Sword, the Shocking Silence, or the Great Devil King wasn't superior to them?
Not to mention the divine and demonic weapons from the Heavenly Gods and Demonic Weapons world.
Even the weapons of the earthly gods would far surpass the Heaven Sword and Dragon-Slaying Saber, and if brought to this world, they would be super weapons worth hundreds of millions of Valis.
Ahem... I've strayed from the point.
After looking around the weapon shop, Emiya's eyes were drawn to a bracelet. This wasn't so much a weapon as it was an auxiliary tool.
It was a tool specifically for mages. Wearing it made one's mind more active, and it could increase a magic's power by at least 10%.
However, its price was very high: 3 million Valis.
Emiya picked up the bracelet and put it on. He did feel his telekinetic powers become more active.
Hmm, this thing is useful to me. Emiya's interest was piqued.
"Do you like this, customer?" A cat-eared girl in a uniform walked up to Emiya and introduced it to him enthusiastically.
"This is a masterpiece crafted by the Hephaestus Familia! If you like it, we can even give you a small discount. How about 2.9 million Valis?"
Emiya just smiled, put the bracelet back in its original place without a word, and turned to leave. That price was simply something he couldn't afford.
After leaving the weapon shop, Emiya felt he needed to start earning money. Of course, he wasn't going to go back into the Dungeon.
While it was a quick way to make money, his current
abilities would put him in danger if he went too deep.
Besides, Emiya wasn't a fan of fighting.
Today's trip was just to experience the life of an adventurer. If he had to make adventuring a daily routine... he'd pass.
If he didn't go into the Dungeon, how could he make money? Get a job? Emiya shook his head. 3 million Valis was not a small amount.
To earn that money from a normal job would take at least a year or two. Emiya wasn't planning on staying in one world for that long.
Furthermore, a 3 million Valis bracelet was only a low-end magic item. What Emiya really wanted was a very powerful one, preferably one forged by the god of blacksmithing, Hephaestus herself.
But Hephaestus was a powerful deity and wouldn't easily
act on behalf of a single person.
Unless Emiya could offer her a price she couldn't refuse. Trying to earn that kind of money from a job was a pipe dream.
So, the best way was to persuade Hephaestus to join his cause. Emiya thought for a moment and came up with an
idea.
He used his power to instantly disappear from the bustling street and return to his home.
"Loki, I need to talk to you about something."
"What is it?" Loki, who was sitting on the sofa watching a show, asked without looking up.
"I just saw a magic item in a weapon shop in Orario that could improve my mental power. So, I'm going to ask Hephaestus to forge a powerful magic item for me."
"Huh?" Loki turned her head in surprise. "Hephaestus? Do you have the money? That guy is a blacksmith god; her prices aren't cheap."
"I don't have the money, but I believe Hephaestus won't refuse me," Emiya said confidently.
Loki immediately understood what Emiya meant. "You're going to reveal your secret to Hephaestus?"
"Well, you know, besides this, I have nothing else that can
impress her." Emiya shrugged.
Other than this secret, there was nothing he had that could persuade Hephaestus.
Loki felt a headache coming on.
Hundreds of millions of Valis was not a small sum.
While she could order the Familia to raise the money, using it to buy a magic item for Emiya would make the other adventurers think she was playing favorites, and it could cause resentment.
After all, in most people's eyes, Emiya was just a new adventurer. Asking the Loki Familia to raise hundreds of millions of Valis for a newbie would make anyone feel
uneasy.
It would plant a seed of discord within her Familia.
But Loki couldn't just order Emiya not to do it. That would be unreasonable.
