Emiya had no intention of chasing Chianti. A mere sniper from the Organization wasn't worth his personal pursuit. But that didn't mean he would let her off the hook.
As the saying goes: "payback is a bitch."
Since Chianti had shot at him, Emiya felt it only right to return the favor.
He flicked his finger, and a psychic bullet shot toward her.
Chianti sensed the danger at the last moment, leaping to the left. Pssh!
The bullet only tore through her shoulder, leaving a bloody hole-but it didn't kill her.
Lucky you.
Emiya retracted his gaze and said to the dazed Miyano Shiho, "Let's go."
Shiho nodded blankly, and Miyano Akemi pulled her out of the cold drink shop. The staff could only watch, trembling, as the group left. Emiya, however, left a gold bar as compensation for the damaged furniture.
Outside, Shiho could no longer contain her curiosity.
She grabbed her sister's hand.
"What's going on, Sis? Who is this person?"
Akemi explained everything truthfully.
Half an hour later, Shiho finally understood Emiya's background.
"A psychic... from another world? Is this some kind of joke?" She was a firm materialist; unscientific phenomena like this were hard to accept.
Emiya smiled.
"You know very well it isn't a joke, don't you?"
"You really want to recruit me?" she asked.
"That's right."
"And you can protect my sister and me from the Organization?"
"No problem," Emiya replied confidently.
"The Organization is nothing in my eyes. I could destroy it with just a few people."
Shiho hesitated for a moment, then nodded.
"I agree. I don't want to work for the Organization anyway, so why not take a better offer?"
Emiya smiled.
"From now on, you're my person."
Shiho's eyes lit up.
"It's a pleasure to work with you, boss."
Akemi clapped her hands.
"That's great! We won't have to fear the Organization anymore!"
Shiho wasn't as optimistic, however.
"So... how will you protect us? Take us to another world?"
Emiya shook his head.
"No need. I'll give you this."
He created two rings and handed them to the Miyano sisters.
Akemi blushed.
"I... we're just your subordinates. This is too much... besides, I have someone I like."
Shiho didn't hesitate and took her ring.
"I think our boss doesn't mean it that way, Sis."
Akemi was taken aback.
Emiya explained, "These rings are custom equipment I made. They let you use psychic power, provide defense, and heal. Even a sniper bullet can't harm you. Your psychic power can defeat enemies easily."
He had carefully designed the rings for the sisters: psychic power, invisible armor for defense, and healing spells. With them, they could become mini-superheroes, capable of handling ordinary threats.
"The design is just for convenience. If you prefer earrings, bracelets, or pendants, I can change it."
Akemi blushed even deeper. Shiho activated her psychic power.
A nearby trash can flipped over with a crisp thump, startling passersby.
"So this is psychic power," Shiho whispered, eyes sparkling.
Invisible, formless, yet undeniably real.
With this power, even Gin would be helpless.
The rings granted them not just psychic power but defense and healing. Shiho felt invincible.
Seeing her sister hesitate, Shiho quickly placed Akemi's ring on her finger.
"Since this is a gift from the boss, you shouldn't hesitate."
Akemi reluctantly accepted. Both sisters soon became engrossed in mastering their new abilities. The rings allowed them to lift two to three tons, sufficient to overpower ordinary people-yes, even Gin.
"Where to next, boss?" Shiho asked eagerly.
"To Professor Agasa's house."
"Professor Agasa?" Shiho had never heard the name.
"Is he one of your employees?"
"Yes."
Shiho nodded, understanding.
Soon, Emiya brought the sisters to the professor's house.
"They'll stay here for now," he said.
Professor Agasa scratched his face.
"Two girls living here... is that proper?"
Akemi replied, "I actually have a rented apartment."
Emiya turned to Shiho.
"Girls need private space."
"I see," Shiho said.
Emiya had an idea.
"Then stay next door to Professor Agasa's house."
"But someone lives there."
"It's fine."
Emiya rang the bell, offered the owner a fist-sized diamond, and bought the house.
Akemi was shocked.
"Boss, that diamond... it could buy several houses!"
"It's okay. To me, it's like glass." Emiya flipped his hand, creating an even bigger diamond.
Shiho's eyes lit up.
"So this is your psychic power, boss?"
"That's right. I can create anything I imagine. Gold, diamonds-whatever I want."
Shiho marveled.
"Incredible... but not very scientific. That's god-like power."
Emiya smiled faintly.
"Gods? You'll understand when you meet a real god... your dreams may be shattered."
Shiho was confused, but Emiya didn't explain.
She quickly refocused.
"Boss... what's my job?"
"The same as it was in the Organization."
Shiho blinked.
"APT-X 4869?"
"Yes. That poison."
She frowned.
"But boss... you don't need poison. With your powers, you can kill without it."
Emiya shook his head.
"No. It's not just a poison. It has another effect."
"What effect?"
"Rejuvenation," Emiya said.
"I want you to research that side effect."
