"Boss, who told you that?" she asked incredulously. "APTX 4869 doesn't rejuvenate anyone. It's strictly a poison."
"No, it does. You just don't know about it yet," Emiya replied calmly.
At this point, Kudo Shinichi had just become Conan, hadn't caused too much trouble, and the Organization had no reason to suspect that he was still alive. They hadn't searched the Kudo household either. As a result, Miyano Shiho had no idea about Shinichi's transformation.

Miyano Akemi was equally surprised.
"APTX 4869 can actually do that?"
"Yes," Emiya said. "That's why I want your sister to research it. This is a true rejuvenation drug-a rare treasure in any world."
"I understand, boss. I'll continue researching it, but I need to see Kudo Shinichi in person."
"No problem," Emiya said, turning to Professor Agasa.
"I'll call Shinichi and ask him to come after school," the professor replied.
"After school?" Shiho's eyes widened in disbelief.
"Yes. After shrinking, he returned to elementary school," Emiya explained.
Shiho couldn't help but laugh at the thought of a high schooler forced back into elementary school.
That evening, the former Kudo Shinichi, now Conan, arrived at the professor's house.
"Professor, did you need me for something?" Conan asked.
"Not me," Professor Agasa replied, gesturing to Emiya. "This person needs you."
Conan turned, curious. "Who is this...?"
"Nice to meet you, Kudo Shinichi. I'm Miyano Shiho," she introduced herself.
Conan's eyes widened immediately. "It's... you... Haibara Ai!"
Miyano Shiho tilted her head. "Haibara Ai? Who is that?"
"That's you," Emiya said matter-of-factly.
Shiho's mind reeled. When did she become Haibara Ai? She had no idea.
Conan, seeing her confusion, nodded.
"I guess you weren't told?"
Emiya explained, "I didn't hide it, but your deduction skills aren't as sharp as Conan's."
"Oh," Conan said, observing Shiho again. "You're here because of APTX 4869, right?"
Shiho's eyes flicked to Emiya. "You actually know about it?"
"Yes. The boss told you, right?" Conan confirmed.
Shiho circled Conan slowly, a mix of surprise and curiosity on her face.
"I never imagined APTX 4869 could make someone de-age."
Conan's expression darkened. "Since you're researching it, hurry up and make an antidote. I don't want to stay a kid."
"I'll need your blood," Shiho said matter-of-factly.
"Of course," Conan replied immediately. He wanted to return to normal as soon as possible.
Shiho drew several test tubes of blood. When Conan noticed she seemed unsatisfied and prepared to take more, he jumped back. She didn't push him further.
"How soon can you create the antidote?" Conan asked.
Shiho shook her head. "I don't know. APTX 4869 is lethal and leaves no trace. No one has ever turned into a child before you, so I don't know how long it will take. It would help if I had a few more test subjects."
Conan pointed at himself. "You already do-you can use me."
"What do you mean?" Shiho asked.
"You can also turn into a child," Conan said.
"Why do you think I can do that?"
"Because of Haibara Ai," Conan replied.
Shiho's eyes darted to Emiya again. "What does that mean? Why do you think I'm Haibara Ai?"
"You are Haibara Ai," Emiya said. "If I hadn't intervened, your sister Akemi would have been killed by Gin, you would have taken APTX 4869 to escape, shrunk into a child, been found by the professor, and eventually assumed the name Haibara Ai."
Akemi gasped. "Killed by Gin in the future?"
Emiya nodded solemnly. "A tragic death."
Akemi's face turned bright red. "Before dying, you'll send a message to Akai Shuichi: 'Dai-kun, if leaving the Organization means I can be your real girlfriend, would you go out with me?' It's... pathetic."
Her face now flushed with embarrassment, she rushed forward and covered Emiya's mouth.
"Boss... seriously, how do you know the future?" Shiho asked, slightly annoyed.
"Sister, you still haven't forgotten him? What's so great about that man who toyed with your feelings?" Akemi stammered.
Shiho shot her sister a glare. "Many people have their reasons, but that's no excuse to deceive someone's feelings!"
Conan interjected. "Who is Akai Shuichi?"
Emiya explained, "An FBI agent. To infiltrate the Organization, he deliberately approached Akemi Miyano, feigned a relationship, and eventually gained Shiho's trust to become a mole, codename Rye."
Conan muttered, "Using a woman's feelings like that... what a scumbag."
Akemi defended him weakly. "He has his reasons."
Shiho shook her head at Emiya. "Boss, how do you know the future? Are you psychic?"
Conan chuckled. "Not exactly. He knows because our world is a manga."
Shiho blinked. "A manga? What do you mean?"
"You know he's from another world, right?" Conan asked.
Shiho nodded.
"In his world, the story of us is a manga-and I'm the main character."
Shiho was dumbfounded. She looked at Emiya, who nodded confidently.
"Yes. There's a manga called Detective Conan in my world."
"So... I'm just a character in a manga?"
"More accurately, a 2D character, idolized by countless fans, Ai-dono," Conan added.
Shiho shook her head. "How can I be 2D?"
"Actually, we're not 2D," Conan said. "Emiya once said he could take me to meet the mangaka."
Shiho froze.
"2D characters can't exist in the real world because the 2D and 3D worlds are completely separate. But we're clearly 3D, so we're not 2D," Conan explained.
Shiho slowly nodded, beginning to understand.
"So... you know the future because you've read the manga?" she asked.
"That's right," Emiya confirmed.
She turned to Conan. "If he's the male lead... then who am I in the manga?"
