Sandra found Michael holding his head, she sat beside him
and held his hand as he related the gist of the conversation with GOD to her
about the future they faced. For the time being they would use a militaristic
approach to leadership in the facility. Jeff and Sandra would be his Colonels,
they would pick out their majors, captains, and lieutenants etc., as time
progressed and the responsibilities grew. After many months of being couped up
Michael decided to leave the facility in Jeff's capable leadership. He wanted
to reconnoiter all the colonies they knew about and search for any groups that
had formed after the attack on Heaven. But unlike before, he was not traveling
alone, Sandra also geared up, and they climbed in their respective aircraft and
lifted off.
In the basement floors Micheal had explored he found tons of
equipment, machinery, weapons, and boxes of utensils. In some smaller crates he found a box full of
pocket communicators. Obviously, a type of military line of sight radio
transmitters, they charged with solar and had about a hundred-mile range, Sarah
and he added these to their gear before they left. They also did not bring wing
attachments and traded the staff for arms. Nothing big Sandra carried an
assault rifle, while Micheal elected to carry a more long-range rifle. He also
adorned himself with a katana blade as did Sandra.
When they lifted off, they started for the first of the
three colonies that Micheal had supervised in the past. After a two-hour
flight, they came upon the first DNA colony, except after a discussion they
renamed the colonies Eden 1, Eden 2, and Eden 3. They hovered over the area
snapping pictures as the people waved from the ground. Micheal landed close to
the colony and was quickly greeted by Laura and her family. Sandra and Michael dropped off four primers
for language and a book of guidance for living. They stayed for a day, Michael taught Kane how
to fashion a primitive bow and make arrows. Sandra concentrated on how to find clay,
and fashion pottery. They had discussed the options and decided to keep Edens
separate from Heaven for time being. The next Eden was only fifty miles away
but the batteries on the aircraft were running low and needed recharging, so
they landed in an open area near a running stream, it had a large pebble beach,
covered mostly with smooth stones. Using his katana Micheal cut two long poles
and rigged them with fishing gear. While he was doing that Sandra started a
small campfire, he brought the two poles back and went searching for insects to
use for bait. When he returned, he offered a couple of crickets to Sandra, but
she turned him down. While he was gone, she had cut some of her long hair and
tied it around the hook, giving it a bug like appearance. Both moved to the
bank of the stream and started fishing. Michael caught the first fish, Sandra
quickly followed, by the time he baited again she already had two more on the
bank, she laughed and said I think that we have enough for dinner, they had
four twelve-inch-long trout. Michael laughed and said "you are in charge of fishing
from now on. After they ate, they decided to bath and swim before it became too
dark, dropping their clothes on the bank they waded into a very cold stream, and
quickly washed the dust from their bodies, leaving the water behind, Sandra was
shivering violently, Micheal moved in front of her and hugged her sharing his
warmth. She put her hands around his neck and lifted herself, wrapping her
legs around his waist, finding his lips, she started making love to him, after several
minutes of supporting her weight, he squatted down and stretched out on pebbled
beach, allowing her to have her way with him, and she did. He thrust upward
into her beauty timed with her movements, she came passionately again and again
covering his thighs with fluids from her passion, finally he could not hold out
any longer and felt his own release. They lay embraced for several minutes just
kissing and gazing into each other's eyes, as darkness was falling, they rinsed
off again in the stream then quickly gathered their clothes. Quickly, they returned
to camp and added logs to the fire. Michael had lifted one aircraft to let one
it's side rest on top of the other craft creating a small space to shelter
them while they slept.
Unbeknownst to them, a huge brown bear was stalking their
camp, but he was not the only one, two other sets of eyes had spotted their fire.
They had already sent another raider for reinforcements. They probably would
have already moved in except for the bear. The bear was large but very thin,
the smell of fish was driving him to investigate. So, at daybreak he walked
into camp and reached his paw to touch the sleeping couple. The suit fired waking everyone, the jolt
knocked all the sleep out of Michael's eyes, and they both moved out from under
the shelter.
The bear did not leave; he only ran about fifty feet away
and roared his frustration. Sandra walked to where they stashed the left-over
fish and she started tossing small pieces to the bear, he in turn moved closer,
but did not try and touch her wary of what shocked him. She walked calmly to the stream with the bear and
picked up her fishing pole. To Micheal's dismay the bear followed her as did
he, keeping the bear in his sight lest it attack Sandra. He watched while she
pulled fish after fish from the stream and fed the hungry bear; after consuming
a dozen trout the bear finally lay down sleeping peacefully. She pulled out six
more fish and left them around the bear, then moved back to camp. They gathered
up their gear and got ready for the next flight, hoping they could review Eden
2 before nightfall. As they rose into the air, the two hunters who had been
watching them, joined by four more, and they charged across the open area,
hoping to bring down the aircraft with arrows. They failed to notice the
sleeping bear, they thought he had moved on, he slammed into one of their
number crushing him, the others grabbed their spears and bows and surrounded
the bear. Bringing down a bear was nothing new for them. Sandra seeing this,
turned her aircraft back, shouldered her weapon and opened fire. Micheal saw
one turning his bow in Sandra's direction. His long rifle loaded with exploding
projectiles, his round hit the bowman in the arm, and it exploded taking his
whole shoulder off. By then Sandra had already wiped out the rest. He calmly
asked her over the com what she was thinking, she replied coldly, nobody hurts
my pets. They flew away towards Eden 2, the bear watching from the ground
started lopping in their direction, of course he quickly lost sight. Remembering
the fish left behind he returned to the stream.
