Some time later, Dave and Liam returned to the bar happily chatting with each other. Those who were waiting for them to return understood that a deal had been struck.
Dave's friends knew from Dave's happy expression that it was quite a good deal. The way he was flattering Liam was enough to tell them that whatever the deal was, it was quite a profitable one. Soon, their looks towards Liam changed as well.
Having accomplished his secondary goal for the night, Liam let go off all other thoughts and decided to indulge himself. After all, his primary purpose tonight was to get back into the nightlife of Starlight city.
Soon, information about a bonfire party that was to be conducted by one of Dave's connections trickled in and everyone decided to head there. Within moments they exited Hangman's Cove and drove towards the party venue.
Liam's muscle car received some appreciative whistles and admiring looks from the gang. Dave voluntarily took shotgun and two of his friends quickly filled in as well. Liam drove to the party venue under Dave's direction in a leisurely manner.
Reaching the party venue, they found that the party was already underway. Without any hesitation, Dave's group joined the party as well. The organizer of the party came over to welcome Dave and Dave introduced him to Liam.
"Liam, this is Connor," Dave introduced. "His father is in the hotel industry. This fellow likes throwing bonfire parties. He would throw a bonfire party once every two weeks at a random location."
"His parties are pretty famous around the area. Many second generation kids like us drop by for his parties. It is always lively whenever he throws a party. He knows all the best places in and around the beach area as well."
"Yo dude! Nice party here. I might drop in on a few of these in the future. Hope you won't mind," Liam spoke up and greeted Connor.
"Connor, this is Liam. The sole heir of the Hastings TV Group. He has recently joined his family business as a Channel Head for their MusixZ TV. Take care of him when he drops by in the future," Dave introduced Liam.
"What's up dude! Man, you are always welcome to drop by. The more people, the merrier the party will be. Just don't make people uncomfortable. Apart from that, whatever you do is fine with me," Connor replied good naturedly.
Liam nodded in understanding.
"So, who's present tonight? Anyone I know dropped by?" Dave asked.
"There's Jack and his posse. He has brought a bunch of girls with him. They are around that back corner. You can check them out. The chicks are all hot. Pat and his bunch of lowlives are in their usual spot. I know you have a good relationship with him. Just tell him to keep things civil, will you?" Connor asked Dave.
"Don't worry, Pat won't let his goons create a nuisance at your party. He knows to behave himself. I will also talk to him. I have some stuff to discuss with him," Dave assured Connor, before turning to Liam. "Pat is an up and coming rapper. Do you want to go over and say hello."
"Not really, I'm in the party mood. I will let you deal with him yourself. As long as my standards are met, I don't care," Liam shook his head.
Liam wasn't in the mood to get to know rappers right now. His working brain had already switched off. Now, it was party time and he only had girls in his eyes now.
"Suit yourself," Dave shrugged and turned to Connor. "Anyone else I might know?"
"Not really, not many people showed up as this is break time for college. Most had left for home or on vacation with their families. Oh, I see Lilith had showed up as well," Connor suddenly said looking at a distant crowd.
"Oh, Lilith is here, then things will pick up soon. One of her pursuers might get wind and come with his buddies, ha ha ha," both Dave and Connor laughed wildly.
"Who's Lilith?" Liam asked curiously.
"Do you see a hot blonde over there surrounded by a lot of girls and guys?" Connor pointed at a group of people and spoke. "That one is Lilith. She is somewhat popular in our circle."
Liam followed Connor's finger and saw an absolutely hot bombshell of a girl with a shapely figure being surrounded by more boys than girls. It was as if everyone was vying for her attention. Liam's eyebrows rose at the sight.
"Somewhat popular? She looks to be in high demand, Connor?" Liam joked.
Even as he spoke several other guys were migrating slowly towards her location. This only made Liam chuckle further.
"Ah, she is, isn't she? Lilith is quite popular not just because of her figure. She is an absolute killer on the dance floor. She is also a party animal. You can find her at one party or another any night. She knows all the information about what parties are happening in the city every day. She is like the queen bee of the party circle. There are several guys pursuing her," Dave explained the situation a bit clearly.
"Oh, is she that famous? Why haven't I heard about her? I have only been gone for four years, Dave," Liam asked in suspicion.
"Well, she is not a native of Starlight city. She joined the college at the same time you did. Your exit and her entry into the party scene are almost at the same time," Dave smiled at Liam and explained.
"Moreover, she usually spends her break time from college in her hometown. So, you probably didn't run into her when you attended parties during vacation. So, it is only natural that you aren't aware of her. Still, it is surprising to see her here, considering it is break time for college. If I am not mistaken, she should have graduated right?" Dave asked, turning towards Connor.
"She graduated. She is currently planning to stay in Starlight City and planning to break into the film or TV industry. Liam, your family owns a TV network right? Can you recommend her? She really is a good dancer," Connor suddenly asked Liam.
Liam felt blindsided for a moment. But, he quickly recovered. It was clear from Connor's words that he didn't understand what exactly a Channel Head means. If he knew the kind of power Liam had, he wouldn't ask him for such a lame recommendation. Luckily, Dave was keeping quiet.
"Well, I will see what I can do. I can't make any promises though," Liam said perfunctorily and brushed off the topic.
"That's good. I will introduce her in a bit. You two can chat and get to know each other. Right now, the crowd around her is a bit large. People will soon break away," Connor explained carefully.
"No need, let her be. You can introduce her to me tomorrow. Right now, I'm in the mood to party," Liam sidestepped once again.
Connor didn't seem to be aware of Liam's disinterest. He agreed immediately. Dave merely shot him a look and kept silent.
"Anyway, I will catch you both later, I need to check on a few things," Connor bid farewell and walked away.
"That didn't sound like the Liam I knew. Man, did you change your preferences in these four years?" Dave asked once Connor was out of their earshot. "The Liam I knew would be all over that introduction."
"Hardly," Liam smirked and shook his head. "I have seen too many of her kind in these four years. They don't excite me like they did four years ago. I have matured a bit. Also, I now have some responsibility. I am planning to use this position to move to the main channel. I can't mess up right now."
"Still, don't you think she would be suitable for music videos? And she dances quite well as well," Dave rubbed his chin and spoke thoughtfully.
"Now that you say it, she does have the looks for it," Liam rubbed his chin as well. "Even if she is suitable, we can't use her for too many music videos, can we? Moreover, those from the record label side will want to put out their own candidates. You need to be smart about this. Don't lose the rod for the fish."
"Still, she can be cast in a few music videos. I think it is worth having a chat with her," Dave shrugged.
"Whatever, there is no hurry. You go talk to that Pat guy first and do whatever you want. I will head to the drinks table. Let's enjoy the party for now, we can always ask Connor for her number later," Liam replied, taking his eyes away from Lilith.
"Alright, let's enjoy the party for now. We will worry about other stuff later. Tonight we had made a good deal, it is time for us to celebrate. Other things can be left for later," Dave chuckled and patted Liam's shoulders.
"Exactly, it is time for us to go wild. We shouldn't be like old men discussing work matters at a place like this. Come, let's go party," Liam chuckled along as well.
"Come, let's go party!"
